Is collecting BJD's your only hobby? Which hobby came first?

Jun 23, 2014

    1. I had always liked to collect tiny things. It started with small ceramic figurines and polly pockets, now it had evolved into collecting tiny BJDs :wiggle
Other than that, the rest of my free time is wasted on reading innutritious novels. :XD:

    2. My first hobby ever is drawing, but this last year I must confess that my bjd hobby took A LOT of my free time. I hope I can do more thing in the hobby, like doing face up, making clothes, accessories. And maybe one day sculpting my own bjd. (I love 3D sculpting and have some abilities with it-)
So I suppose BJDs are my prior hobby this days.

    3. I had an interesting journey to get to BJD. I have always been a collector, mainly of lego and disney. I started collecting LOL dolls but I wanted something that I could better customize and that's when research brought me here.

I am also a musician for my other hobby and play guitar, piano, saxophone, ukulele, and dulcimer. I'd love to get some small prop instruments for my doll to combine some of those hobbies together. :)

    4. I love reading all of these and finding out I have so much in common with others hobbies. I feel like I finally found my family.

    5. :XD:
      Omg, this question.
My main hobby is frantically switching from hobby to hobby on some kind of crazy hobby carousel. I'm lucky I manage to fit in eating and sleeping.
...but they all roughly fit into the categories of games and art.
I paid for my entrance into this hobby by selling a Magic the Gathering card I bought 8 years ago for $60 that's now going for $1300. Easily my best % return on investment on anything ever.
And I don't regret it even a little bit.
      ;)

    6. Nope. Collecting BJDs isn't my only hobby nor my first or even last. Haha. I'm an avid collector of stamps, coins, antiques, books, sci-fi/fantasy/mystery memorabilia, anime/manga, fountain pens, stationery, folding fans, teddy bears, figurines of various types, stickers, jewelry, gemstones, video games, board games, plants (orchids, roses, etc.), dishes/tea sets, outfits of different styles/eras, dolls (Barbie, porcelain, cultural/ethnic), and probably more than I listed. I rotate through any one of them at any given time depending on my mood, shopping situation, and what I'm interested in investing in next. Newest hobby is still around a couple years old and oldest hobby has been around for a couple decades (around pre-K). Oldest hobby is a toss up among stamp collecting, coin collecting, gemstone/rock collecting, or book collecting. My parents and extended family were really good about fostering varied interests but at the same time being faithful to them as long as they still give me joy and weren't ruining me financially. Definitely had to earn anything I collected which is probably why I'm still attached to most of the things I've acquired.

    7. Being interested in illustration is what got me into doll tbh

    8. BJDs is my oldest continuous hobby as I started when I was a teenager. Before that, I kept fish and did other art stuff.
Currently, my active hobbies besides BJDs include keeping a bio active frog habitat and trying speciality coffees and making espresso-based drinks.
What I like about BJDs as a hobby is that there are several other hobbies that can be explored within the context of BJDs. I’ve tried sewing for BJDs and sculpting props, for example.
I’ve always been interested in photography and will probably start using my BJDs as subjects to try that out.

    9. I'm a mural painter, so art and creative expression has always been something I hold close to my heart. I would have to say that my photography hobby led me to doll collecting. At first it was me taking photos of my friends' dolls, then I ended up getting a few for myself

And I must say that I find photographing dolls so much more enjoyable than shooting human models, because I'm in full control of how I want them to look like and truly have fun with my creative expression!

    10. I’ve had so many, many hobbies…all creative. I’ve always loved sewing and fashion, historical and fantasy reenactment, creating artistic decor, writing stories, painting and drawing, etc., etc., etc. What I love about BJDs is that this brings all my varied hobbies together under a single umbrella, where I can freely express all my interests as a cohesive whole. Perfection!:)

    11. I am also on the "creative hobbies" team! Prior to BJDs, I really was into historical stuff and crafting stuff. BJDs kind of gave me a focus but they are ultimately an extension of my former hobbies.

Outside of the creative hobbies, I am really into cooking. I love to eat, lol. I also like to discover how other countries cook, and how people ate and cooked at different eras.

    12. I have way to many hobbies to keep track of to be honest *_* I love all of them though! Many of them include creativity like sewing, drawing, using my cricut, cosplaying, etc. but also includes reading, writing, and true crime with a healthy dose of animal loving on the side. My fiancé and I currently have around 80ish fish with a 150 gallon tank and 4 cats so :abambi: BJD's definitely wasn't the first hobby I had, but I do collect other dolls as well like the Disney Designer Collection so for me, it went hand in hand!

    13. I am in the many hobbies club. Or hyper fixations. The ones I always have time for fantasy and scifi books and boardgames.

Poetry, crafts and etc come and go. But I didn't quit any to start collecting bjd.

    14. I have been a dollhouse collector/builder for years. I think I've almost run out of space for them. But these BJD's are new to me. And of course, I have my eye on some of the bigger ones.

    15. This is not my only hobby, not by a long shot. I collect animation cels, collect records, write (actually published a book a few years ago), cross stitch, play video games - the list goes on.

    16. Dolls were not my first hobby. I have always "collected stuff" through the years. However, right now dolls are one of the few hobbies that I do have. Other than dolls, my hobbies include playing video games, playing music/composing/songwriting and writing a book! I am a full time mom and adult college student as well.

    17. I just got into bjd dolls this past month and a half. I used to do costume design for theater and had stopped that around 8 years ago. I really missed costuming and made a friend that kept her bjd hobby a secret until we got to know eachother more. When she mentioned them it was super interesting and got me excited to continue costuming again. Since it's small scale it would go quicker, be more cost efficient, and give me an excuse to create things. Let's be real, halloween is only once a year no reason to make a bunch of things.

My doll should be coming in 2 months! And I've been going ham with designs in anticipation for her arrival!

    18. I've collected dolls and action figures pretty much my whole life. I also collect, build, and paint tabletop gaming miniatures as well as play said tabletop games.

    19. I was into sewing (for my kids and their dolls) and then stumbled upon a bjd on a blog and that was it. Hooked ever since! ^_^

    20. Drawing was definitely a big hobby of mine I used to like doing and still do I just don't draw much nowadays. I also have others like collecting other kinds of dolls, gems/crystals, plushies, ect.

I knew about bjds but wasn't really focused on them as I was with reborn dolls. I always love life sized things so when I start my bjd collection thats what I want 60cm to 80cm or even bigger if I can get them!

    21. I’ve actually spent most of my life collecting video games. That is my first and longest running hobby. I think that anime figures, then obitsu, led me officially to bjd but I was aware of them for years before I started collecting. I believe at this point my three main hobbies are games, bjd, and rockhounding.

    22. My other hobby is building & flying model rockets from the months of may untill end of October

    23. I'm one of those people who has always loved collecting! As an adult I've collected everything from manga to lipstick. I currently only actively collect indie perfume and bjd items, although I'm active in the anime figure, make up and nail polish collecting communities.

      • x 1
    24. I've collected multiple kinds of dolls all my life- never outgrew them; just graduated to more expensive and fragile types as I got older. I actually have more antique dolls than BJDs, although I'm rebuilding my collection after a serious setback at the moment.

I'm also a hobby seamstress, which dovetails incely with the doll collecting because I can dress my dolls in offcut scraps of fabric.

    25. The holy nerd trilogy of video games, anime figures and dolls here

    26. @Mariemisu Ooo I also collect indie perfumes! It's such a niche hobby & I love them. At this point I almost never buy new ones, though, as I've found quite a lot of favorites that I rotate through. Same with make-up, and I'm not really active in those communities anymore.

I tend to rotate through video games, reading, and various collection-based hobbies, as I often have trouble focusing on more than one hobby at a time. This year video games have been the dominant hobby by far, but I've managed to add in BJD stuff a bit recently as well. Dolls overall was the first thing I was into (I adored Barbies as a child), then reading, then video games, then BJDs specifically. Anime & manga used to be a major one, but these days I only watch new series occasionally and casually.

    27. I have all kinds of dolls, not just BJD's.
I have a lot of Barbie dolls, over a hundred, some had been my grandmothers.
I also have a fairly large American Girl Doll collection.
I have a handful of reborn toddlers as well, but they take up too much space to have a lot of them.

    28. I have... too many hobbies :sweat

My main one is actually pixel art. Especially an obscure variety called "dolling", which is based on the idea of paper dolls or dress-up games. It's pretty similar to bjd's, in that you take a blank humanoid canvas, and add your own make-up, eyes, hair, clothing, etc. After doing that for many years, the leap to styling non-digital dolls is pretty easy!

Unfortunately I'm not able to do much pixel art anymore, because I struggle with migraines. And the "dolling" community... I don't know if it even exists anymore! I'm hoping the bjd community can fill that spot in my heart :3nodding:

    29. I have lots of hobbies. My main one at the moment is that I follow figure skating. This one definately came early but probably not first as I always liked my dolls. I watched skating as a child but found it difficult as there was never any on television in the UK. Apart from the Winter Olympics or when Torville and Dean competed. Got back to watching when I chanced upon (and fell in love with) a marvellous skater called Yuzuru Hanyu. Joined one of his fan clubs and they gave lots of links to watch all the competitions throughout the season as well as information to do with Yuzu. Since then I've been in person to many competitions, made lots of friends, met many of the skaters I adore (sadly Yuzu was too much of a superstar to ever meet although I was lucky enough to see him skate live twice) and I absolutely love it.

    30. Oh I have a small collection of kimonos too. Different sorts. I wear them when I can but find the weather in UK makes it difficult as don't want to get the silk wet. Haori's are the most wearable but sometimes if I want to feel luxurious I use my longer tomesode or kimono as dressing gowns or an evening coat. Do you wear yours out and about too?

    31. BJDs are actually one of my newer hobbies!

Writing's been my main hobby ever since I could string words together and form sentences, so that's a huge one for me. I write fiction on my own (used to write a lot of fanfiction lmfao) and do a lot of roleplay writing with my best friend as well. I work as a fiction editor—primarily developmental editing—and also do some ghostwriting from time to time, so that's the hobby that sort of become my career!

Art is another of my long-time hobbies, but I didn't start REALLY studying the fundamentals and properly learning anatomy and whatnot till around 12 years ago. I'm nnnot a pro, but I'm not half bad for being self taught! Still always more to learn and improve upon. I mostly just wanted to draw my OCs :kitty2

Skiing and figure skating are my active hobbies. I'm admittedly great at skiing since I've basically been doing it since I could stand and it's like second nature to me. Figure skating . . . decidedly less so lmfao. It's just for fun anyway though; I didn't start young enough for competition and am never gonna be flinging myself around performing quadruple axels and shit ahaha.
I can't afford to actually go DO either of those things as often as I'd like; both are expensive and involve a long drive.

In addition to BJDs, I also collect nendoroids, all of which I make into little dolls with obitsu or YMY bodies.
I just love cute little tiny things :whee:

Annnd photography is the only other MAIN hobby I can think of! One I get to use with my BJDs and obitsuroids! I'm still learning the secrets to making my dolly photos better.

I've been working on improving my sewing skills so I can make little clothes and whatnot for my BJDs and obitsuroids. Also looking to get into really learning to do faceups for BJDs and make custom faceplates for nendos!

    32. I got into BJDs in my teens, and I think back then the hobbies that my life revolved around were 1) reading/writing, 2) drawing, 3) rock-climbing/sailing/snowboarding 4) textile art (making clothes, accessories and toys... I knew the basics, but was never super great haha). I also watched a fair bit of anime and collected anime merchandise, though I never liked it that much and often re-sold parts of my collection. BJDs quickly became an obsession and pushed out pretty much all of these hobbies, which is something I slightly regret.

These days, the writing/drawing is sort of a career, in addition to becoming a librarian coinciding quite nicely with my rare book collecting hobby. I got injured some years back while working, so unfortunately I can no longer rock-climb, and am afraid of trying snowboarding again (I think I will break), though I am sailing a little and have picked up snow shoeing. I also got into American football and hope I can play some friendly touch pick-up games eventually, when I do enough rehab. All these hobbies currently take priority over dolls, which usually get pushed to the back of the spending list.

    33. I got dolls as teenager. Back then I did cosplay, taekwondo and horse-riding very actively. I would say dolls were not my number one hobby back then. Currently lots of my "hobby-life" involves dolls, I like sewing, thrifting, face ups, DIY, story-telling/writing, photographing, just browsing dolls stuff... Still I do have lots of other hobbies as well. I don't really consider my animals as a hobby, they are my family members. However, I love to build stuff and design little worlds in their enclosures. I love reading, visiting museum and galleries, restoring vintage stuff, Japanese street fashion, study languages, DIY, read webtoons, cafe-hopping, Steam gaming and so on. When it comes to sports I am very into pole dancing. I actively do training every week.

    34. I started my adult doll collection with vintage dolls to replace childhood things and got into restoring them. In the doll community there is a lot of crossover and that is how I found bjd so they are my most recent hobby.

    35. My main hobbies are art and writing (I also used to sew a lot when I was 8-10). Bjds came about because I loved the photos I would see of them and I wanted some to represent my characters that I was writing/drawing at the time.
I've been drawing for 8-9 years and collecting bjds for one year atm.

    36. Definitely had hobbies before starting to collect dolls, but I think they all make sense as to why I ended up collecting BJDs. I really enjoy/enjoyed drawing, making stories, crocheting, and cooking. I've always wanted to learn how to sew and having dolls adds another reason as to why I need to pick up sewing as well. Overall I tend to like very creative and even borderline tedious things that let me use my brain and hands

    37. i rotate ravenously between hobbies. i started out with art/drawing when i was really young, and graduated to liking dolls as a kid and then still liking them when i was "too old" lol. my art and imagination and love of barbies/monster high/action figures etc led me to bjds when i was...12? 14? so it makes sense why i love a hobby that combines so many of the things i do and love. :D

    38. @sunkissedklutz - I hear you about the rotating.

My first real hobby was crocheting for tiny dolls. From there I moved on to knitting, collecting Barbies, dollshouse miniatures, cross stitch, then BJDs, making cards, and then back to crochet... Somewhere along the way I started playing The Sims, and then Sims 3, and I still play that almost every day.
I just do whatever I feel like doing. Sometimes I spend hours on my dollhouse, sometimes I spend a lot of time doing face-ups and finding/making outfits for my BJDs. There are days when I don't feel well - I spend those days on the sofa stitching, because out of all my hobbies that is the most relaxing, for me at least.

    39. I’ve been drawing since forever so that’s probably been my lifelong hobby. I used to cosplay which was what got me into BJDs. I used to read a lot of fanfics but I’ve never really written any myself apart from when I was like 15 lol. Other than BJD’s my main hobby is book design, tattoos and heavy metal music (concerts etc). I used to sew a lot when I was younger and for my first few years in the hobby but I lost a lot of enthusiam for crafting it feels.

    40. Technically doll collecting was my first hobby. It started with baby dolls as a child, then Barbies, then Bratz, then porcelain dolls, then Monster High / Shadow High, and eventually evolved into BJDs about a year ago.

My other main hobby is makeup, and I hope to combine the two and work on becoming a faceup artist x

    41. Hey, I used to be big into pixel dollz too!! :D
I loved dolls for a long time but I got pressured out of playing with them like a lot of kids at a certain age :blush But then I found the pixel dollz hobby! I always loved to see the dollz contests on everyone's websites. My favorite artist was Angychan of Yumestudio.
Eventually I shift to original pixel art, I loved making tinier and tinier dollz at some point there were no bases that tiny! I did pixel art and character design commission work into my early 20s, then took a long art hiatus.

A few years ago I learned 3d poly modeling and animation and fall in love with art again, and recently I finally tried voxel art, which is truly the best of both worlds :D
I'm also a hobbyist game dev and music producer :blush And of course I am a gamer and music lover too.
Right now I'm working on a voxel board game to play with my family, after my cousin proposed the concept this Thanksgiving :XD: I'm hoping I can get everything polished by next Thanksgiving and surprise them.
My other new hobbies are sewing and crochet which I am learning just to supplement my doll hobby ;)

    42. My other hobbies are sewing, crafting, reading, video games, painting, playing violin, photography, writing... hmm, I feel like I'm forgetting something but it might just be because a lot of different things are included in the crafting. Or maybe it's because at times I feel like getting into hobbies is one of my hobbies too... I listed the hobbies in the order of getting into them as far as I remember, first four were as a kid, next three at ~18, writing I only got into almost a full year ago at 30. I've gotten into many other hobbies throughout the years but these are the ones I consider myself to still be into.

In a way though I kinda consider half of my hobbies to be part of my BJD hobby as I don't really partake in them unless it's to do something relating to the dolls. Before getting into BJDs about a decade ago I almost had abandoned the crafty hobbies as everything I wanted to make was stuff that I really didn't want to actually use, so I had been less and less able to justify spending money and energy on them

Oh, and the writing hobby was actually 100% born of this hobby. Originally just wanted to have a background story for my dolls but then randomly almost a year ago got an idea for a proper story I felt I needed to fully write, and I've been working on it ever since. A nice side effect of it that I've noticed is that my life-long difficulty to translate my thoughts into coherent language has gotten way less severe in general, which makes me even more grateful for the existence of this dolly hobby, as I probably would have never gotten into writing otherwise. :blush

    43. Aside from just collecting BJD I also love to collect anime figures, art books, CDs and plushes! :kitty1 It's not that unique but I just love cute things.

    44. My first hyperfixation was on anime, which led to me creating anime fanart and fanfiction. I got to collecting all types of knick knacks as well, mostly I’d buy things from convention artist alleys. I also got into scale figures around the same time.
Many, many figures later, I came across anime character dolls when searching for figures which led me to the world of resin bjds.

    45. Drawing is too vital to me to think of as a hobby... I write, but everyone says my prose is a purple mess, and I can't do it any other way. So I've ended up with sometimes drawn, sometimes prose outlines of interconnected (same world, different eras) long stories that get more vivid where I've made actual comics of a scene. I'm sort of OK with everything being hazy and incomplete.
I am not sure if I'll make a connection between dolls and writing. For the time being I feel they're almost two entirely different realms.

    46. I also collect other types of dolls even if I'm not buying anymore cause I'm out of space I do have my collections of fashion dolls . toys and childlike dolls like paola reina , I used to craft dollhouse items and I also knit and sew somaking clothes is in the mix too even if I have far too little time available to do this anymore , I also like perfumes , I used to have miniature bottle collection but I gave away about 3/4 of it to a friend who was more interested than me , I still like perfumes a lot though and even if I don't usually have many bottles at the same time I like to gather samples try them and get a new one from time to time I don't keep the bottles though I usually gift them to someone who colllects them.

    47. BJD's are definitely not my only hobby, and came after pretty much all of my other hobbies!

My other hobbies include sewing, crochet, video games, cosplay, collecting plushies, collecting/occasionally repainting Precious Moments figurines, and literally any kind of craft you can think of--resin pouring, Cricut, basic embroidery, soap and candle making, painting, jewelry making, gluing things together--you name it, I've probably done it. I also used to collect anime and action figures, repaint Monster High dolls (the gateway drug to the BJD hobby IMO), stream on Twitch, dance, and make dollhouse miniatures. I've always been a crafty person who had a love for dolls and miniatures, so BJD's for me were just the next logical choice in terms of "how can I use all my hobbies in one single hobby?" besides just cosplay, which I love but can often be overwhelming as my projects tend to be large and tedious :sigh

Being able to use all of the skills I've developed over the years in my other hobbies for my BJD's has been such a great outlet for me. I find making things for my dolls and painting them to be such a relaxing pastime, as I can just sit there, listen to a podcast, and make things that make me happy. No pressure, no deadlines, just pure creativity and doing what brings me joy.

    48. I have always had soll since I was little and I loved collecting, crafting, anime, writing, and art. Since the first time I saw BJDs I was like "This is it". it is just the perfect culmination of all the things I am interested in and everything I enjoy. I can incorporate all my hobbies into one thing so that I always do something I enjoy with my dolls. I also enjoy these hobbies outside of BJDs as I collect fashion dolls, draw and paint, and write.

    49. I have a bunch of hobbies, even if most of them are artistic! I started collecting MH dolls first and I still do. I also draw (I am a professional 2D animator and artist), write stories, sculpt in 3D and I enjoy videogames a lot. And even if it has been a lot since I last played it - I also play the harp! I just had to stop for a while due to my instrument being away from me.

So as you can see, most of them are creative and artistic hobbies. I would also like to pick up doll customizing and making (which I am kinda getting into). Honestly, with my range of hobbies, I feel like picking up BJD collecting was a matter of time!

    50. I have so many hobbies ^^; I bounce back and forth between them all but some include: alternative fashion, sewing, cosplay, drawing, and other types of doll/toy collecting! I think BJDs is one of my oldest ones in terms of when I got into it, but I haven't been super active in the hobby until recently!

    51. Drawing was my first hobby since it was really mostly what I did as a kid. Then as the years went by I got into anime, manga, games, collecting anime figures and watching dramas. I started getting dolls(fashion dolls) mostly because I enjoyed thinking of deaigns and stories for the characters I would project on to them. Collecting BJDs is actually my most recently aquired hobby.

    52. I think collecting has always been a hobby I get lost in, doesn't matter if it's collecting BJD or other toys or knick knacks or anything really. I just like having groups of things that are same but different, if that makes sense. I love researching before a purchase, categorizing and taking inventory, arranging and storing, rediscovering older things in my collection that still bring me joy. Besides collecting, I used to dance and draw growing up, I was always very creative and that's kind of been missing from my life for a long time - I'd love to learn to sew so I can make clothes for my dolls : )

    53. I am so old at this point, I have no real idea what my first hobbies actually were, and that both amuses and saddens me in equal measure, lmao. I did love dolls as a child, fwiw, and I still own nearly every doll I was gifted, including American Girl's Samantha and all her accessories. Actually, dolls are among my earliest memories of having toys, because I grew up next door to two elderly sisters in this big Victorian house, and they gave me some of their dolls as a gift when I was 7 or 8. I still have those, and they're from the 1920s, I think?

But let's see, the range of hobbies includes: vintage ephemera (collecting historical paper of all types, from fashion catalogues to WWI vintage posters to 1900s era Halloween postcards), antiques, especially old jewelry, clothes, and random objects like tea cups, makeup compacts, anything that's got interesting craftsmanship or historical use, anime cels (that was my big hobby in the 2000s, lol), gemstones of varying sizes and types, including crystal balls, fantasy artwork (paintings, prints, a few odd sculptures). Husband has swords everywhere, and they're actually real swords because of his primary hobby teaching historical swordplay, so yeah... this house is full of all kinds of weird stuff, lol.

It's neat to see what kinds of things other people have gotten into, and how much many of us seem to have in common! I do writing and always have, but it's less of a hobby and more of a "building towards career" vibe these days. That's for sure one of my earliest hobbies other than playing with dolls, though! Started writing stories around age 8 or 9, I want to say?

BJDs are actually my newest hobby, which is truly scary to contemplate, given I have 4 of them now. :XD:

    54. I have been blessed (cursed?) with all the expensive hobbies. I collect rare gemstones and mineral specimens (currently sitting at around 150 specimens) and keep fish and aquatic plants. Recently had to drop some doll money on a custom tank when my old one started to fail, that hurt some.

my newest hobby is insect pinning/spreading, which involves manipulating dead insects into various positions and framing them. Currently working on a trio of Frog leg beetles.

    55. I have quite a few hobbies.

I like to write, I collect art of my characters. I do postcrossing (recently got some rare countries). I like crafting, trying out new crafts and going to workshops. I sew both cosplay and historical clothing as well as normal clothing and other things. I sculpt art dolls as well as design OCs from open species creatures I find on DA, instagram and Pinterest. I modify monster dolls in humanoid open species.

I have travel mascots, a group of raptors and a plesiosaur that I take photos of when I travel. I also love to travel and explore different places. I really want to start taking photos of a BJD as well, but unsure as it'll be another thing I have to take out my bag to take photos of.

I enjoy baking as well as cooking and trying out new recipes, I take photos as a record and post on instagram of what I make.

I have a bucket list and enjoy completing items on it. It makes me try new things.

Go to theatre often, I enjoy musicals and plays; I have also seen some ballet. I also like concerts.

I also go to the gym quite a few times each week.

    56. Some of my other hobbies are watching anime, reading, gaming (especially playing visual novels), writing, cosplaying, baking, and taking photos. Apart from BJDs, I collect other items, like plushies, anime figures, keychains, and pins.

    57. Drawing, writing, sewing and collecting gemstones are pretty staple ones for me, but I've also recently gotten into painting warhammer minis- they're great for scratching the same itch to paint tiny things, but don't cost £150 like a BJD head does. Admech and Necrons are my little guys, funny little robots

    58. I have too many hobbies, dollies is a new one for me ;^^ but there's a sort of willowy beauty that's in a lot of manga and games I like, and I always find myself thinking certain characters would be beautiful as dolls. So I'm excited to be able to make some of them happen.

    59. Besides BJDs, a passion for fashion dolls began with purchasing J-doll "Esplanadi Katu".
My collection includes Blythe, Monster High, and a few action figures.
I would still like to buy some Momoko, Azone U-Noa Quluts, and Fashion Royalty, known for their stunning outfits with many realistic details.
Vintage jewelry and antique items appeal to me in particular. Every time I visit a new place, I try to go to flea markets.
I enjoy searching for designer items at thrift stores because reusing things helps combat overconsumption.
Japanese art fascinates me, including textiles, ceramics, paintings, and dolls.
My collection features antique Japanese dolls, clothing, kimono cloth, several fans, and ceramic bowls.
Painting and collecting high fashion inspirations are enjoyable activities.
Listening to podcasts about medicine, debunking false beliefs, and exploring conspiracy theories are also interests.
In my spare time, I mentor in design management, helping aspiring designers identify their strengths and organize their team’s workflow.

    60. I won't consider bjd's and dolls a hobby anymore, I am selling the bulk of it keep certain parts of my collections as decorative artifacts I will keep static and displayed. I am not going to learn more about dolls or do anything so it's not a hobby they are amazing decorations for my house. I also don't do any creative hobbies because they are the worst money and time eaters leaving you with stuff you don't know what to do with or store. The only thing I do is perfume searching and aromatherapy, I use essential oils and perfumes every day for emotional uplifting and morning energizing or calming before sleep I love that this is 100%hedonistic which means about me feeling nice and not about others because I don't really perfume myself but some fabric and then smell it and feel the effects of the aroma it really helps and works. Essential oils is the best spent money if my life
