Hello. I recently bought and received my first fullset bjd, but I find that the clothes are very wrinkled and I'm afraid of burning them with the iron. It's a Ringdoll. Does anyone know if Ringdoll's clothes can be ironed?
That’s really going to depend on the fabric. Do you have any idea of the fabric content? and how does it feel? Is it velvety, does it feel like woven plastic, etc. Do you have any photos or a link to the outfit? The brand name alone isn’t enough information to answer this question with confidence. Off the top of my head, steaming may be another option. If you take hot showers, you can hang the garment in the bathroom and see if any wrinkles smooth out. Edit- from your profile, I assume this is the Wei Wuxian fullset? Looking at the official photos, I suspect it would be safe, but it will depend on what that fabric is made of. Start on the lowest heat setting and use a pressing cloth. You can always add more heat if the wrinkles don’t budge but you can’t unburn. Keep the iron moving and pick it up often if the area is too small.
Thank you so much for your answer! Yes, I mean Wei Wuxian's clothes. I haven't taken any photos yet because I was concerned about ironing his clothes. And I'm also hoping to receive some white underwear to protect him, because all of his clothes are black and I've read that he can stain resin. I only tried the clothes on once to see how they fit and I took them off again... I think I'm too manic, haha, but it cost me so much to save up to get it that I have it like gold.
I would write ringdoll and ask them about the materials - I would also say steaming is the way to go (with a clothes steamer or an iron with steam setting... or even ironing through a damp towel) but there are some synthetic materials that don't behave well with moisture.
You can also use for example cotton, try to iron it first to see, if the iron is not too hot and and place it between clothes and the iron. If you burn anything - it will be that cotton Also it is also safe to use lower temperatures or settings for synthetic fabrics (they burn easily and require lower temberatures) - it will take longer but will be safer.
