Iplehouse nYID, SID, EID and hybrids- part 2

I really like the jaw and asymmetrical quirked eyebrow. Nice photoshop! It'll be interesting to see how much Iple is thinking along the same lines.

 

Since this is the Iple hybrid thread, thought I'd share a shot of my EID Chase head on the 5th Motif Venitu body...................it actually works way better than I thought it would. The color match is really good too...............Iple older realskin/5th Motif Copper Oriental. IT's a bit of a longer lankier look, and Qhuinn (my CHase) wasn't happy with it, he said he wants his regular body back, LOL, but it would definitely work if the longer lankier look is what you are going for.

 

I had to look at it on my tablet... the images are a tad sharper on it than my big screen lol... so I was right... There was a lot of Doria's fabric left lol. And I did not know that trick for making leather looks like that... interesting.

Oh how I wish I could shell 4 men (EID sized) at once >< this would be the answer to one of the characters... How tall does he end up being on that body?

 

It works for anything just take paper (preferably a softer more pliable paper like tissue or newsprint) and crumple it. tighter the crumple, the sharper your patterning, you can also use a rag for a softer more blended look.
then paint your surface, then use the crumpled paper/rag to "sponge" off a layer.
tends to give a broken glass/crackled type marbling like this.



At least thats what edan's vest looks like it had done to me, could be wrong.

they used a stencil type method with lace. It kinda looks like there might be a rose shape here and there..

I have to say, he looks great, JinCincy!! Were you inspired by "The Alchemist," a Chase who got posted in one of the other threads? (Or maybe this one, I've lost track.) He's a Chase/Fifth Motif hybrid, too.

I take it that you didn't make any neck mods, he's just sitting on the neck as-is?

(I'm getting a Venitu before they sell out -- just waiting to hear back from Dollshe about an issue with my account/points first.)

This is unlikely, but has anyone tried these Dollmore boots on an Iple girl?

I know Dollmore Model boots generally fit, but since these are thigh-high, I'm a little concerned. I want them for my incoming nYID girl. Iplehouse lists nYID thigh circumference as 17cm, but Dollmore doesn't have any thigh data on the boots or their Model girls. :<

 

No, I haven't seen the Chase you are referring to................I was just playing around and wanted to see how the Iple EID heads fit on the Venitu body. And yes, the head is just attached with no mods.

 

Those are *awesome* boots; I've been eyeing them for a while myself. :-) I don't know if they'll fit the nYID ladies, but Abby over at Dollmore is great about answering questions. So if you ask what the Model Doll thigh measurement is; she'll probably be able to help you out. If you find out; please let us know.

 

I would assume they would fit over the thighs, but they might be too tall on the nYID body.... Here is a pic of the boots on my EID girl, Molly. They are extremely tight on her upper thighs but they DO zip up all the way. But they also come all the way up to the very top of her legs, and the nYID legs (I assume) are significantly shorter.....

So i'm guessing that the height of the boots could be more problematic than the thigh measurements for you.

My pair are several years old and originally purchased for my Dollmore model girls.

 

Sold!! Thanks so much for showing them on Molly, Jill. I've been wanting them for my EID Aaliyah, and I was worried about them zipping. I was wondering...can she sit with her knees bent when she's wearing them?

 

I have no idea, actually. :P
And I have no un-shod EID girls at the moment to try them on and find out. I would guess it would be risky to try, anyway, based on how tight they are on her, and the fact that the zipper goes all the way up her leg. The zipper alone might prevent full bending at the knee, and if it was bent too far, would probably split, as it's the nylon kind.

They boots are really cool for posing in standing positions, though.

A note on the zipper: I had to really work to get them to go up all the way, but it also is possible to have the zipper up only part way and still fasten all the buckles. It still looks great from the front that way, but not so much the back view.

Awesome! Thanks again. :-) I had the same trouble with my Dollmore "Cara" boots when I put them on my EID lady. They were *suuuuper* tight to zip in the calf area, but only when they were brand new. Now the leather has softened and stretched just a touch, so it's much easier.

I definitely didn't expect them to be that tall. It looks like they won't work out for my girlie. They look fantastic on Molly, though! WOW, she's a stunner!

OK, here are the boots on a SID body girl... Norah, my PG Aria volunteering. I apologize for not doing up those gazillion tiny buckles, but I just wasn't in the mood to fool with them. The don't really affect the fit much anyway, since the boots are nicely "leg-shaped".



The tops of the boots come up higher but still sort of work. Right at the crotch the leather buckles just a little, but in my opinion, it doesn't look too bad. A long top or very short skirt could cover that easily.
I tried folding the tops over, but the zipper goes up right to the top and it wouldn't fold neatly. It also created an unsightly bunching in the crotch area that was more objectionable to me than the slight buckling showing in the photo.

One more caveat: I used Norah wearing her flat feet, but the boots should fit about the same in her heeled feet. It actually was nice to note that the flat feet will work in these boots - I don't think I realized that before.

 

Those boots are awesome!! (I had been thinking "Probably not on an nYID, I've seen people putting them on Hounds" . . . but, wow, they come up higher on an EID than I had expected!)

does anyone know if the SID Bloody hunter top would fit very well on an nYID "medium" bust gal? I want my Bliss to have a 'hunter' outfit but.... having trouble matching up the look lol.

 

Ironically, I just *tonight* laced Blanca (Pamela) into it, so I'm not taking it off anytime soon -- would be happy to try it on Carmine when I undress her, though! Had to wrestle her hands on and off to get the gauntlets on, which is why I'm being lazy about it (plus, she looks BOSS -- I'm in the mood to say "Hey, Iple, if you want to see a bad-ass female pirate, here's one!")

Hopefully someone else has the outfit and an nYID and can oblige you more promptly!

(FWIW, it barely closes on a L-bust EID. My main concern with an nYID would be proper fit through the torso -- it doesn't nip in really strongly at the waist, probably because the skirts are intended to be worn under it, and nYIDs have a very pronounced wasp waist.)

O_O you can stuff an EID in it??? I figured the shoulders would make that not work... the under the arms/above the bust area (it's the killer fitting humans there) more or less the top rib ring. My main concern would be the too much gap across the back and bust. I have no sense of SID girls chests at all (this is gonna sound weird but...) I need to hold them to get a sense of 'comparative size God does that sound pervy or what? >< But I'm a tactile person in some ways and costuming is definitly one of them. Earned the nick name in theatre "the texture queen" cuz I always had to feel this or that fabric , usually ones ppl were wearing lol. but ya I often did 'fitting' by touch combined with visual... so trying to imagine it... does not work lol... but what you said did make sense. I knew/know the nYID hips are ... huge but I didn't realize the waist was comparatively that small to the other girls. Man I need my SID girl. I'll prolly end up with one in CH series at this rate

Hopefully though someone else will be able to oblige soon cuz I'm itching to spend on outfits atm lol.

Honestly, even if you had to add a little corset-lacing to the back, or a belt, I don't think it would look bad on an nYID as long as she wasn't small-bust.

This is my very first BJD! I just got him about 2 weeks ago. It's a nYID body but has the SID Edan head. He's so cute! I'm calling him Edan now but I might change his name later.

I'm currently waiting on a nYID Justin as well as a SID Zera. Crossing my fingers that the Zera will be shipped out sometime this month with the Justin following next month, but we shall see. I'm planning to turn them into my Shepard as well as Joker from the Mass Effect series.
Speaking of, I actually finally found someone to commission for their ME2 outfits, but since I don't have the dolls on hand, I can't take detailed measurements myself. I was wondering if anyone here with a SID woman (small bust preferably) and a nYID boy could help me out, otherwise I may have to postpone my order until I actually have the dolls. x_x; Not a big deal, but I'd prefer getting their clothes ordered now so that they'll be hopefully finished by the time they're shipped out to me. Anyway, if anyone with these doll bodies is interested in helping me out, just PM me and I can link you to the measurement guide the person I'm commissioning sent over to me.

I was debating whether or not to get the nYID body or just stick to the SID body since it goes along with the head. I didn't want anything with too much muscles so I decided to go with the nYID. And I'm glad I did because he looks great!

I already want to get another one! I want a girl this time and I'm liking how nYID Emilia looks. Must. Save. Money.

 

I have a question, can nYID girls wear 7-8 wigs? I found one that I just LOVE for my upcoming Bliss but they only sell it in a 7-8 and smaller. This is the wig in question: http://kemperdolls.com/wigs/mohair-wigs/giselle-wigs-mohair-3081.html

 

It depends on the wig. My Audrey and Olivia can wear 7-8 Leekeworld wigs because the Leeke wigs run big. They can also wear 7-8 Monique Gold and Jpopdolls wigs because those wigs have a good amount of stretch. Mohair wigs, on the other hand, have no stretch at all, and in my experience they also run small. I wouldn't buy a 7-8 mohair wig for an nYID unless I also owned a JID who could wear it if it didn't fit the bigger girls.

It is also possible that some nYID girls can get away with wearing smaller wigs, because I suspect not all the heads are exactly the same size. I didn't order Bliss, so I don't know if her head is larger or smaller. Among JIDs, for example, you've got girls like Isar whose head is quite a bit smaller than the norm. That leads me to believe that there might be some variation in nYID head sizes, too.

I'm joining the crew, I like Iplehouse's dolls too! ^^; I'm buying my own nYID from Iplehouse when I have enough money (that should be by the end of the year) but now I have some kind of a problem.. I can't decide the mold I want. Rexy and Olivia are my favorites. At first I was sure I want Rexy but lately Olivia has become more and more my favorite and now I just don't know.
I have tried to search for owner pictures of them so I could see more pictures of them and get a better vision what kind of dolls they are and how they would fit to the character. I have found many lovely photos of Rexy but Olivia is harder to find.. I found some from Iplehouse nYID photo spam but I hope I could find more.

Soooo, here's my request! If you have or know someone who has Olivia or Rexy, could you post some photos of them? I would like to see their faces from different angles. Also if someone has good color comparison photos, I would like to see them too. I'm most likely buying special real skin but I would like to see some comparison photos

I don't know about that particular wig, Artisticadelle, but it's certainly a possibility -- my Vampire Grace wears a 7/8 wig, although most of my SID ladies wear an 8/9. I seem to recall Bianca's head being on the small side, although since she was a split, I didn't have her in hand for long.

You might check Sweetiiger's eBay store -- there are a number of similar mohair wigs, like this one, which might fit your needs -- I know that one comes in a couple of colors.

Here is one of mine taken with my new camera... same as the last except mine was discontinued and this is the slightly tweaked/upgraded version.. omg I love how it handles light... this pic had zero adjustments by me (not that I have a clue how anyways) and I was just messing around seeing what came out... yes that is at the sun with only his head blocking... I love my new cam AND my doll lol... I have a couple of really good face up shots in the stream... If I say they are good ... they are... cuz I take crap pictures most of the time... they are bald shots that show his face up best.

He looks great! I know you said that's not really his wig, but it suits him extremely well. But I'm really curious. What's with his elbows and the extra piece? That looks more like an EID elbow than an SID (which is neat, because I love the EID's locking system). Is it because of the strongman arm?
