Yay, new thread!

Here's Wrin and Mitchell looking patient with all the little Fairylanders flocking about them. They expect that now that I'm cleaning house for my birthday, that I will take new pictures of them soon... We'll try, guys!

And thank you for starting the new thread. It was nice to see all the threads associated with it. I checked out the "What Fits the nYID girls" Read it all!

So I guess when I have some information about sewing for my new girl, I should post it there. In the mean time I will just mention I bought the patterns for the older YID from Oriole to use for my SID and EID girls. They were very easy to adjust. So I do not think making them work for the nYID body should be a problem. I already have my jeans patterns adjusted from the SID one I did. It helps having all the bodies now to compare sizes and fit.

 

Skin Color Question:

My big girls, (nYID, SID, EID), either have peach gold or real skin color. I am wondering if anyone who owns the normal skin tone one, finds any problems when photographing your dolls.

I have normal skin color on one of my BIDs and my KID and they do fine. I just found that on larger dolls with the lighter skin color, you get a more washed out look. Just wondering if anyone else has the problem or has a solution.

I would love to order either Aubrey or Olivia in normal as I want a pink/red lip color. It seems to look the best on normal skin color. I do not want to be disappointed with my choice. I wrote IP about putting this lip color on real skin and I was told it casts a more purple look.

I have both Audrey and Olivia in normal skin. I haven't experienced any special difficulty in photographing them. I had a couple of peach gold dolls (Bianca and Mari) and disliked the peach tone so much that I sold both of them. For some reason I found them harder to photograph than the others. Here's Olivia basking in sunshine coming through a window:

 

I don't normally have any issues photographing with my Peach Gold Olivia but I do usually take pics on my glass in porch so I get pretty good magical light times.

Dollswest, I've found IpleHouse's NS to photograph quite well -- Rue, my EID Carina, and Kumari, my Asa on an SID body, are both NS.

If you're handy with your camera, you can lower the exposure slightly if you're worried about your pictures being washed-out. I usually don't bother, and just tweak them slightly in PhotoShop if needed. Do you use a photo-editing program? I can probably walk you through the steps I take for my pictures (I have them set up as a recorded macro, so I just have to push a few buttons now), if you'd like.

Honestly, I think IpleHouse NS photographs quite well, even in direct sunlight. The only time I've had much of an issue with my NS girls being washed-out is when I'm photographing them in direct sun AND they're next to one of my Light Brown girls -- that takes a little more tweaking to get it to look good in the final photo. If I focus the camera reticule on the NS girl's face, though, it usually works out without requiring too many edits.

(I edit ALL of my photos, other than ones taken with a phone-cam, so please don't think that I'm saying that NS requires any kind of laborious process -- I always like to sharpen my photos and get the contrast and saturation just the way I like them, as well as cropping and adding a border. If you like snapshots, you'll probably do just fine with an NS girl, especially since you always take very nice photos whenever I've seen your pictures of your smaller girls!!)

And I'm joining the thread because my Addiction Bianca split just arrived -- I'd ordered her the DAY before my daughter got a nasty heart diagnosis (she's finally showing some signs of recovery, several months later, thank goodness), and while I was upset that I wound up having to sell dolls (and am still doing so as-needed as new bills come up), I'm glad that I ordered her when I could do it guilt-free . . . since I couldn't cancel (because I had split partners) and couldn't sell (because she wasn't in hand), it meant that I got to look forward to her arrival without having to beat myself up for having spent money that I didn't have . . . because, at the time, I *did* have it!!

She's going to be a hybrid -- the NS nYID Addiction body with wings, horns, and claws, and a La Legende de Temps Vampire Edria head. Her head has been off at the customizer's for a while, but the preview pictures look awesome . . . and I can't wait to put her all together and take pictures!!

She's going to be my last big doll for a while (due to the circumstances), so I'm going to enjoy her for all she's worth -- and I'm really looking forward to sharing her, once she's back in one piece again! (Wish me luck with blushing her upper body -- LLT NS resin is a bit darker/pinker than I'd expected, so I'll need to do a bit of clever blushing on her shoulders/collarbones/cleavage to give her a unified look. I've done it before, though, since I enjoy creating Frankendolly hybrids . . . now I just wish that I'd been able to get her head back in time to take Halloween photos with Vermillion, my EID Vampire Aaliyah!!)

Wow, thank you all for your input. I loved seeing all the photos. Such beautiful girls! Okay, I will not worry about the normal skin.

I have this in mind. I want to order a custom Aubrey. I want her with small bust, normal skin, all of the face like Kassia (JID) #A, except the lips. I want the lips painted like Lonnie (KID) #A. I have Lonnie in #A, normal skin and she needs an older sister. I would just have done it like her but I like the heavier eye treatment on Kassia and I just love her look anyway.

I will get Olivia in normal skin make up #A but as an SID.

I think having two nYIDs, one with the medium and and one with small bust will work for me best. I have other heads in the peach gold I can put on my nYID body and that is fun. I can put Aubrey and Lonnie together. That will be fun to design for.

I am finding this body a challenge for sewing. Hope to have some results soon but will post in the other threads.

That is a awesome wig. Ive been having a Blast with my girl. I just need to stop buying dolls and buy them some more clothes. I have three dolls on layaway at the moment. Two of which are iplehouse.

That magenta wig is awesome, taecelle! It really suits her. I think I like it better than the Iplehouse Siena wig my Olivia is wearing.

What clothing fits nYID boys? I've always steered clear from IH because their bodies seem too big.

 

Not sure I wont be purchasing my boys til next year sometime. Im at my iple buying limit at the moment. They got me good with the addiction line. Im not sure who all has boys in this thread.

 

I've managed to fit my nYID Andrew into a lot of TATA's SD17 sized clothes - even some pairs of jeans, although it's a really tight squeeze to get them done up. (The poor guy can't sit at all in them.) I always find pants to be the trickiest with the Iple guys. Shirts are much easier. I've also got an SD17/70cm sized Nine9 Style jacket that fits him like it was *made* for him.

Thanks for the info. I want an Asa boy and for a while I've been thinking about the nYID body but was fearful nothing would fit (other than IH clothing) but your feedback definitely makes the possibility more attractive. The sculpting of the nYID is really nice.

 

I asked iple if they'd consider making a less curvy body option (like a model type) for the nYID girl. And they said they're going to deliver my idea to the sculptors, which is cool. I hope they really consider it.

 

I recently ordered a skinny Dollzone body for my extra Bianca head. I'm very interested to see how that works out, the neck size is very close which is another problem matching to Ipleheads. It will definitely allow her to wear some of my SD clothing that won't fit over those nYID hips.

 

I wonder what they will come up with if they consider a less curvy hip design for the nYID. I do like the body they have now, but options is always welcome

 

I don't know I kind of like some meat on my girls bones. I love my Olivias curves sure its a challenge finding clothes, but I not really bothered by it.

 

I ordered the Dollzone body more because Iplehouse made me buy an extra head I didn't want and they don't offer the ability to buy an extra body to go with it. So that leaves me out in the cold finding a body that will fit that huge neck hole. So the DZ body was a matter of necessity more than a matter of taste. On the plus side it does give me the ability to experiment with a hybrid and I do like the idea of the two dolls looking more different than just one having fangs (or a different wig, etc.)

 

I love Olivia with faceup A and Audrey with faceup B. Does anyone have both of these girls and can they give me their opinions on them? I would be getting her with the normal skin.

 

I'm afraid I don't have either of those dolls but when I can't decide I flip a coin, chances are you will know which one you really want by the results.

 

Have you checked the nYID discussion thread? They can probably give you all kinds of pictures

I have both girls. Audrey is NS and faceup A. Olivia is also NS and faceup A. I love them both, so can't help you with an opinion there, but at least you can compare their features side-by-side. They are dressed for a Halloween Gala.

 

Olivia is my favorite -- love her lips!!

I finally got Carmine all put together -- all she needs is a manicure, but I'm still deciding how I want to do her claw-nails. (Be warned, LLdT and IpleHouse are NOT compatible neck-size-wise -- I had to do fairly significant neck modding to get the head to fit. The result was worth it, though!!)

She is so amazing. Im kicking myself for not getting a Bianca sense I discovered she would work for one my characters. Oh well I guess I will be saving up to buy her in doll choice. Ironic how the character I have in mind for her is a demonoloigist.

Anyway Im a little relieved they are going to release someone not too limited for my wallet needs to recover from Ordering both Claude and Violet. Although I love the Stella Sculpt and all which is why I ordered Violet. But I was expecting a JID boy or a nYID boy. Since they havent done one in a while. Sigh oh well

 

Sorry for barging in!But I just received my GS Bianca! All I can say is that she is beautiful! I love her skin color, I am so glad I ended up getting her!

That's what I had in mind, red for more of a stronger look and pink for a lighter look. Both of those wigs are from Leeke world and the tunic she is wearing is from ttya.

 

I think that is a great idea! It will make easy for us and others to find the measurements. The blank head idea is really a good idea, it will make it easy for ppl to see the hidden details that you don't see with a faceup on.

I think Rexy looks a lot like an older version of Tanya, so she's going to be my Tanya's older sister.

 

For those with NYID men, what else can they wear other Iple clothing? Can they fit old YID clothing and shoes? I want some jeans and things but I don't want the Iple pants.

 

I bought my Audrey some SID woman clothing and shoes. Fits well.

What is the difference between the Olivia head sculpt and Aurora? I have not seen a blank Aurora and cannot tell?
