I order the D size wigs from Leekeworld. I just stretch them a little by hand before putting them on. The first couple of times putting it on can be hard, so don't get too frustrated. Once you get it on and off a few times it goes on easily after that. All mine slip on fine now without a struggle.

SB - Marisol is coming!!!!!!!!!!!! How exciting! I'm extra excited to see another Amy, LOL.

On the subject of Leeke wigs, I'd second the D size recommendation. Lu's wig is an M size and it's positively massive on her. It flops off her head constantly. That's why her bangs always seem to migrate in all her photoshoots...on bad days, it'll pop off after every single picture. Someday I'll hop on an Iple GO and get that one I've always wanted for her instead....someday!

 

emke, I fell in love with a Volks wig, and it's also slightly too big (not noticeably, but loose) Since Tania is always going to wear it, I just dabbed a spot of hot glue on her head cap and glued the wig down, did the same with my Jerome cause his wig was just as loose! Anyway, I do that a lot with my dolls because I can't stand it when the wig moves around especially if I want to style it. I don't have that problem with the Monique/Jpop or Kemper wigs, as the strech and hug the head fine, only with these two, or the fur ones, or any wig on my tiny dolls (drives me nuts, they all have their wigs glued down) When you want to take them off, they peel right off.

I don't like white glue because I find it doesn't hold as well and sometimes it squishes through to the other side of the wig (into the hair) so I only use a hot glue gun. Just a thought if it bugs you. You'll never care if it's slightly large again!

 

My girl's wigs are all size M from Leekeworld. I have a silicone wig holder, though. It doesn't stain, although, you do have to replace them every so often.

You do get used to the giant wig syndrome, though, and find ways around it. Like tying ribbons in Lu's hair or finding....other ways to hold it still.

 

whaaaa new thread! I've been so busy it's hard to keep up.

I use the wig-stop velcro from volks to keep the wigs on. It doesn't ruin the head cap, it's super easy to replace and it keeps the wigs from moving.

Random question: So I've noticed that Suri's got this extra elbow joint...and it's got this really really bad habit of not staying attached to the lower part of his arm. It's got a little groove in the place where it SHOULD stay put, but it likes to detached and just sit in the upper part of his arm. I wonder if it's because he's strung so tightly, but I was wondering if anyone else had this problem? If so, any idea on how to fix it without having to drill a small peg into his arm?

Ingie yeah, I figured that was my problem, but I was really trying to avoid having to mod him. I'm a sissy and I'm terrified of messing up the arm and the joint.

Anyway, I didn't actually look closely, but I'm assuming that all IH dolls have the same jointing? My Lunas is making me frustrated (ankle) and I really hope I don't have the same problem with my incoming JID or it may be enough that I'd have to trade him D:

LuckyXIII Im afraid that the JIDs also has ankle problems. Though i have a girl, but i had the chance to pose an EID for comparsion and in my opinion the joint system is nearly the same. But the ankle problem really is just what you have to take care of a little bit more when posing And a right shoe can also fix it.

 

hi guys I have someone new



she's keeping her default acrylics for now, the melon ones turned out to be far too bright for her hair/skintone. It reminds me of cheesy glow in the dark color I think her EDs have a bit more of a natural/muted color so it should work better. Now, to change her clothes about 50 times. I got my shuga-shug dresses so you'll see those in a bit.

also I need to tighten and suede her, she's completely floptacular.

She justs needs eyes and a new faceup. What she has is nice but I'd like her and Lily to have similar makeup. Also for her clothes and shoes to come in. Oh, and a name! And now I'll shut up since she's offtopic here. But the large dolls forum is scary. I think she'll be my only SD.

To balance out all of the spam of Charlie I took Elena out! (Charlie is looking at me like "And that is the way it should be.") She's about ready to murder me over the skirt, it's too pink and fluffy for her tastes, but it's so cute! One more in the photo thread.

Just wanted to say that it was a pleasure chatting with you in this thread, but since I couldn't pick between I and Tania, I looked elsewhere and fell for a Y.I.D. and order her ... technically yesterday morning now, almost 24 hours ago! I am still too excited, but last night was the best night's sleep I've had in a couple weeks lol

The Y.I.D. thread is really quiet. I don't think anyone actually owns one at all, and I'll be the only one. So I better get ready to post all the patterns and all the measurements and answer all the questions! lol Someone's gotta get people started I suppose

Giodrakes, Oh boy, I know exactly how you feel! It's wonderful you finally found who you need Yaay! Oh several people here have YID's I just don't think the large doll forum is very active at all. They don't allow photos and it's just no fun. Maybe if you start posting one picture per post like the rules state here, it'll become better and you'll get away with it?? LOL. Also, maybe start a new inclusive thread: "EID YID and SID discussion thread", so that more people can join in the discussion! I think actually, that's what I'd do if I had one in that size just to see if I couldn't drum up some camaraderie!

Yah, Giodrakes, of course you can! Gosh, the problem over there is that everything is completely fractured. For some reason, people have started threads on limited, and on single dolls, and that's just limits the people going in to talk to such a small group! It's doomed to get burried with no longevity. (the way these threads work here, it's so nicely "together" and the variety makes it less boring. I really wonder why it's so fractured over there? Maybe they're so stuck in their ways being the "oldest size" ?

Oh don't worry, DE, just come when you need info then Like what fits, or whatever I think I'm horribly chatty because IRL, I don't say anything to anyone, except to yell at my husband and kids, ROFL. Face to face, I have so little to say :P

No, sorry but if you start a thread about the YID's it'll have to be in the large doll forum. It's the oldest forum, as originally just about all dolls were that size, and the smaller ones came later, tinies even later that that. I've read in their rules that no pictures are to be posted in the threads (I think because originally a lot of people had dial up internet access) But they've become lax on those rules it seems in the mini and much looser still in the tinies threads!

So if you start a thread, like I said, I'd make it very inclusive so lots of people join in the discussion (after all, I think EID, YID and SID's are meant to go together, and also make a correlating thread in the gallery to go side by side for people to post their pictures, just like we have here for this thread Hopefully it'll become a lively discussion thread like we have here (which I like )

Well, I for one am underwhelmed at the SID girl...which is perhaps a good thing, financially speaking I don't understand it. I am completely gaga in love with ALL the Iplehouse JID girls, but all the bigger dolls from this company leave me cold. I was hoping for a bigger Tania or I... Yur is kinda I-like, but that bod is just too much for me to handle (ie, sew for). Oh, and that pink ruffly dress itself is WAY cute (scurries off to figger out how to make one for Christa, Celeste and Calista...)

 

Oh dear, yeah. She is beautiful but I think 60cm is my limit, and only one at that. There's enough of a height difference between Anise and Lily already that I don't want to go taller (since I see Anise as being late teens/early twenties, she's fully grown) unless it's a boy. I love the dress, I want one for Marisol.

Tomorrow we're going to see How to Train your Dragon and hubby, my brother and his girlfriend are taking me to dinner at a local Japanese restaurant.

also: if anyone has an SD girl + the BFC fashion packs, the gigantic plastic shoes fit SD13 girls. Nice stopgap solution until her real shoes arrive.

 

Wow, the SID girl is gorgeous! I'm surprised since I'm not really a fan of their large dolls....The molds are very pretty and stuff, but their huuuuuge boobs just don't do it for me. They always seemed a little too much for me to handle. But the SID girl is stunning!

I'm still getting used to my JIDs size though so I think SD sized dolls are definitely too big.^^

Sylphide, the IH women are very sharp and have very mature features, sharper jawlines etc... so you're probably not a fan of that. I like the softer look too, but a couple of them are gorgeous to me It is a blessing though when you aren't tempted, so good for you! I'm not tempted because I'm simply not going that big, unless we win a huge lotto pot and I get a bigger house, ROFL

You're right, they've key'd them in so the double joint thingy won't crawl up inside the upper arm! Finally I understand why Fairyland does that with the knees! Oh, that's going to be a very nice improvement! It even looks as thought they've done that to her knees as well! It'll be awesome if the KID and BID's have that as well! I wouldn't mind if they did a body upgrade for the JID's too, but mine will be modded as soon as I feel better...

 

I might have to mod Cal too now that you've provided a link to that tutorial Ingie... I'm somewhat frightened by the thought but maybe I'll enlist my friend's help and mod him wondrously!

 

I was wondering which skin coloring do you like best on the JIDs? I'm tempted to purchase an Amy when I payoff my bride's maid's gown and plane ticket.

I own a JID girl in Real Skin, but I've yet to see the Normal Skin or Rose White in person. I'm leaning more toward the White Rose.

 

Good question. Now that I have RS, I gotta say, I do like the darker color. My Ryan which is NS is so light! But that's ok, I mean, he's still not as light as a Dollmore NS, close though. I have yet to get a white skin doll. Maybe someday I might want to do an Albino, goth or a ghost, but it seems way to light otherwise for me. My next doll, after a Lati Blue boy who will hopefully be Jackie's boyfriend, will be a suntan Rafel from Dollmore. And when I can, I hope to keep getting as many darker dolls as I can as I think they're so beautiful. I remember when I thought my NS Minifee was so light, now they look positively tan! But, I think I will someday get a WS doll, because I like different looks with my dolls, so that may come

Now RE: the RS, does anyone else feel that their brand new doll has a greenish hue coming through? Or is it my imagination due to the controversy over the first batch of RS? It may be that without a faceup, the dolls look so pale and flat? But I was thinking to myself, remember there was an undertone of greenishness, and if I were to look at them a year from now, not to freak out if I sensed a greenish hue. LOL. Don’t misunderstand me, I don’t think the doll looks green, just see an undertone, but then when looking at my own skin, I see the same undertones so maybe that’s why it’s called Real Skin :P

 

Yeah, most tans have a green tint, they call it 'olive complexion' for a reason.

Oh man....I'm screwed. I REALLY like the new SID body from the pictures they've showed us - I never thought I'd get to the point in this hobby that I could get excited seeing a joint! - and I really like that SID head. ;_; I know I can resist buying her, but...gah. If I kinda like one, I can count on Iplehouse coming up with a face I definitely like. This is so inconvenient. xD

I am laughing at those humongous headlights though. The first thing I did when I got access to the toolbox with Lu was take an exact-o knife to those mountaintops of hers. When she can nip out through DENIM, that's just a little too much for me.

 

LOL, yah, emka, they got rid of that problem, maybe a tad too much ;P So, I gave my opinion on skin color, anyone else want to chime in? I wonder how others honestly feel about their new RS dolls?

 

Hi Ingie. I do see the undertone in my Antoine. I notice it in others pictures before I decided to purchase RS. Olive complexion is really gorgeous on humans. Most of my lighter complexioned family members tan this similar complexion in summer. I love it. I can't wait to see if Iple comes out with even darker JIDs. I definitely want more of them.

 

I love that RS tone. It's one of the most gorgeous tans ever, and I'm determined to get it whenever next round of them goes through. RS Joshua! I'm also hoping for RS KIDs, since his younger self needs to be that scale.

The only thing I'm worried about is that he's supposed to be paired off with a white skin girl. Cream white, but still, pale. I'm a bit worried about the contrast, but know that that's what I want to do either way.

Hmmm, does anyone have a RS and white skin doll they can humor me with in spam?

 

Ellanie: I have a NS DoD Kirill and a RS Tatiana. I like how the two of them look together. DoD's NS coloring is extremely pale with only the slightest amount of pink.
