Thank you They look really pretty with the black hair. Still debating on brown or blue, but so far, Latinos all have brown eyes unless their is cross race. If I go with brown, it would be something like Chandana's color. WHAT! No love for Josh? Poor thing, maybe he be perfect with that little devilish smirk of his.

HLG, I made both Suki's dress and Asalie's top. ^^ I even managed to stuff Asalie in the dress! (I made it using a small bust girl for fitting and needed to see if it fits the large bust girls). I want to make more of these dresses, I think they're adorable ~ one piece of instant cute. I need to go through my fabric stash and see what I can come up with, and play with different types of fabric...


Asalie was not pleased with me.

Moniee, thank you! I love your Tatie -- dark haired girls like ours seem to be pretty rare. ^^ And I'm in love with your Tatie's hands!

 

moniee XD Yeah she can sit. I wrestled with her stringing for about an hour before I was satisfied with her. She still falls backwards sometimes but it's MUCH better than when she arrived!

A couple of tips that I seem to give out often regarding getting JIDs to sit:

- Use 3.0mm elastic cord to string the body, they come strung with 2.0mm from Iplehouse -- it makes a HUGE difference. The 2.0mm is fine for the arms though. ^^

- Hot glue suede the shoulder and hip joints of the girls -- I've done that to mine, and they sit like champs, even in tight pants. Suki is giving me fits, but that's only because I strung her too tight. She likes to kick.

 

I second what Quirked says. 3.0mm elastic makes such a huge difference.

 

I'm reading all your comments about sitting issues, and I find it weird because my Aya (Tania) doesn't have any problem to sit well... However, it's becoming more and more difficult to make her stand. She always falls or bends.

I guess it's because the string is too lose. Even though she was lose when she came (last April, I think), I could make her stand quite well. Now it's difficult, and she can hardly hold any pose while standing without falling or bending. Anybody else had this problem ?

 

Thanks for the advice Quirked. I will have to go buy some 3mm cord then for Rose to see if it works. And the doll I wanted Sofay is Gabriel - White. I had issues of Rose not standing rock solid when I got her. I tighten her and still didn't fix it. I seen JIDs do some crazy poses without buckling or tumbling down =(

 

I posted more pics on the box opening area. So far no wig or faceup and her default eyes are crooked, but she's lovely, don't you think? Her resin color is dark and rich and satiny. But, IMHO, IH should send instructions with the turban/head wrap. It's shipped as a straight piece of pleated cloth with 4 snaps. Took me awhile.
And to make it even better, today's beloved husband and my 20th anniversary. Time flies, as they say...

I just got a new desk in my room, and combined with the location move and Elena currently having to use her jointed hands, some. Ahem. Shenanigans have been going down. Elena's been the favorite lately, since she got moved first, and was re-strung first. Also she's been using the power of her jointed fingers against Charlie. (Most of this has been taking place on my phone, which is why I haven't been posting any pictures.)

So today we found a random wooden chair that happens to be JID sized, and, well, Charlie demanded her revenge. Furniture is highly coveted in our home. Rude jointed hands gesture ahoy!



Elena: Ugh, I am so disgusted with you, I can't even look at you.
Charlie: Well, if you had kept yourself out of my face, you would have gotten first dibs. Probably.
Background Maxim: Schtupeed vomen, hy've hed a chair ever since hy got here.

 

HAHA! I love Elena's attitude. And its awesome to know there is jointed hands that match Iple's resin.

 

They really don't, actually. It's close enough that it doesn't show in pictures, but they're still pretty off. They're Dikadoll's smallest jointed hands in yellow, and they've been a project of mine since May. Sanding helps the color a bit, which is part of why they look so good in the picture. But resin matching it's really my issue, since it doesn't bother me at all.

The largest issue is the ball doesn't fit well in the arm. That side in the picture is the one I've sanded into oblivion, and it still needs some more work. Part of that problem is the wrist design doesn't allow for much movement, which is what I've sanded on the right side. (ours, not theirs.) It still doesn't look terrifying, though, so I roll with it. It'll never fit the ball completely, but, I still love them.

 

Sucks about the resin match. Even they do looking kinda creepy, I wouldn't mind a pair for a boy. Maybe...if we suggest it to Ipe like we did with JID heel feet, they might consider it in the future. Doesn't hurt to suggest it to them.

 

not my Vito since I don't have new pictures of him, but here's a picture of Phoenix (I boy with a modified girl body). The sweatshirt is from the 9style boys section (shirts are good but I wouldn't expect pants to fit since the JID girl body and boy body honestly aren't that different in terms of pants other than the hips on the girl body).



I also got some pretty epic leather pants for him from the DOA Birthday swap that I'll have to take pictures of tomorrow. I can wiggle him into them but he can't sit...I'm also not quite sure where they're from.

 

Tirian, I got mine on sale for around $50, with shipping, from AngelDoll. There's a thing on the side of the site that lets you select currency so it's not all in pounds, lol.

 

Giodrakes, thank you! ^^ My "I", Tatiana, and Ryan are all RS, and my Tania (the one on the end in the black/white polka dot top) is NS.

 

Okay! I bought this cute top/capris set for my SD girl and just had to try them on a JID out of curiosity! The pants fit PERFECTLY. They're great as a soft comfy pajama-pant type thing and are the perfect length for JID girl! The shirt would probably work great as a shirt-dress without the pants. So a good buy in my book. It's the stripe set from CoolCat, it comes in several colors!



Now I have to buy two more sets in different colors so Lily and her sister, and Marisol can all match.

Yeah, like I said, I've been sanding on the hands and wrist. I've made the wrist part more round, instead of that odd oval shape, and I'm still working on sanding the ball down a bit. Since you can't only sand the ball (it's where the string for the fingers is anchored, so I don't want to mess with it) I've been sanding the entire sides of the hands down. One of my hands is a little skinnier than the other, and it fits better in the rounder wrist. I had to stop a few weeks ago though, since I ran out of sandpaper and just haven't gotten more lol.

 

Lol I guess you really can't have one without the other if you're a Tania/Tatiana owner! LOL!

 

Hippolovergurl : I've been longing for Japan ever since I came back a few years ago... it's time to go back ! While I'm there, I might as well go for that Volks FCS I'm dreaming of... so this is not going to be a cheap trip !

I'm thinking of dropping by Seoul while I'm in the "area", and seeing all these lovely BJD companies... I wonder if Iplehouse has a store or a showroom... it would be great !

 

Hinotori: I thought that the release of Storm/Soo and Tedros/Asa was to celebrate the opening of a showroom in Tokyo?

Just saw your post about Japan. How lucky!!! I would love to go there, but I would avoid Volks cause I would give them my return ticket for a doll lol I've always been curious about Japan, even before I knew BJDs existed.

If you have either twin, you have to get the other. I was planning on saving up to get Tatiana, but Iple had to release RS this month >.> Oh well, next year I can order Rose's lost twin.

Hippolovergurl: Large breasts ^^ All my JID girls is going to have large breasts expect for Amy. I haven't decided on a name yet.

 

I've been struggling with that. I like the idea of small breasts on the JID, but I don't like how it looks on the nekkid doll, so I am thinking large boobies also.

 

I like the bigger boob. Makes my girls more mature, except Amy who looks like the youngest of the JID girls.

 

She sounds great sweetmelodies! Make sure to tell us as soon as you figure out a name!

Haha guls! I said I only wanted 3 dolls: a SD, MSD, and tiny sized. Now I have characters for 11 dolls. Oy.

Lol *sigh* twins, I blame you, HLG, and Quirked and Throwmyfaith for having adorable twins/both sculpts and making me want them! LOL! >__<

I gave her a face-up this afternoon. Mr SuperClear really shows up any imperfections on the ebony skin, and I had her half done when she developed this enormous ashy patch, and I had to scrub, scrub, scrub it all off and start over. geez!

At one point, the MSC made her look like a National Geographic picture of a traditional ritual with white face-paint, and there is still some ashy patches in her ears and around her nose that I gave up on. geez!

Anyway, I had finished putting gloss details on her eye rims and lips, and she was drying, and the mail came with her new eyes and super curled eyelashes from DDE, so she has everything but her wig now!

The eyes for one of Asalie and her brothers' alternate looks came in today. But Asalie is the only one that has the wig to go with the eyes. Her wig still needs to be cut and restyled to match her regular style though. I kind of wish that I could get some extra heads for her and her brothers, so I can have one with a faceup for blonde hair.

 

Ndavid812 - I think your Nola's face up came out great! But it worries me about the trouble you had with MSC.

I just got my Benny (Zahara) today. I ordered her with a face up. I do plan to give her body a blush and do nails. I have mixed up my airbrush color and tried a sample so hope it is a go! Now that I airbrush bodies I don't put the Volks stuff or MSC on first. I do on the heads though. So I am hoping maybe the Volks spray will work better. She is a bit darker than I was expecting. Although like I mentioned before, I did see the big girl at the BJDC so I knew she was darker than the photos on their site.

However, she came strung so much better than my Claire did. And her features are so pretty. I found my lighter color wig worked the best. Once I get her blushed, I will share a photo. Then the sweater I designed is due out in September, I will share that later. Her coloring is wonderful for some of the yarns I have, so I am very excited!

 

Quirked: Eee Asalie looks so incredible. I think my problem with me neglecting Lily is that she's NS; I love the realskin color SO MUCH. I dunno if I could sell or trade her though...

 

moniee and guls- ok, hold on. I'll try to find them. Um I know it was on the SID discussion or the SE Lee news thread or something. Someone went there and took pictures of their Ryan with a Lee and Chase on display.

ndavid- Wow! Great face-up! She looks beautiful. Any chance you could take a picture of her and your Tatie together?

Quirked- THOSE EYES ARE SO COOL! Like a mix between a magical creature and a lab created human. Her alternate look is great!

Strawberryblossom: Thanks! I'm in love with the eyes, even though they're a tad large (they're 14mm), but they're the exact color I wanted. As for the Lily-Neglect, you don't necessarily have to sell/trade her prior to getting her a new shell... Its a bit expensive to do, but a lot of times it helps. I did that with my two Yurs -- I have an EID Yur and I love her faceup, but her body is too womanly for the character; so I got a SID Yur. I figured I could just choose the one I liked the most and then sell the one I didn't like as much. I ended up loving the entire SID Yur, even though I'm having to send her head off for some minor eye mods and a new faceup (resin is jagged around the rim of one eye and the eyeliner chipped because of it. ;~; ). But I'm sending her to the same artist that did Asalie and Ariin, so it will be okay.

HLG: Thanks! Magical creature kind of works... she is half alien and a quarter wolf demon... The blonde/teal eyed look is the alien part of her (cookies to whoever guesses what fandom her character (and the characters of my other dolls) is based in -- I've mentioned it before ) I've got a white wig for her wolf demon look, I just need to get some eyes to go with, get some ears, and make a fluffy tail. :whee

Haeden: Thank you! ... I kind of want to do some kind of Atlantean-themed dress/outfit for her that is nice and froufy (which she doesn't like -- and its fun to torture her. ).

Quirked, bad for enabling, but Asalie's alternate look is sooo pretty! I'm glad that your dolls have alternate looks. Lol, I thought having alternate looks may be viewed as weird at first, (example: Rohit's alternate blond look for his performances) but I'm glad others do it too! Yay! I'm not weird! (At least not terribly! >__<)

Okay, I could not wait. I was so worried Zahara would be hard to photograph and that would be real disaster. So before I go and blush her I thought I would try to see how she comes out with my photo set up. I really like the way she looks. I think she will be a perfect model for what I have in mind.

 

Zahara looks beautiful! I love how her eyes pull together the whole look! She's going to look even better once she's blushed!

 

Nola looks lovely. You did a great job on her face up. That is odd the trouble you had with MSC.

dollwest: Thank you for posting her picture with default face up. She is very pretty. When did you order her?
I ordered mine July 7th with face up.

 

I've heard of MSC turning darker resin colors whiter a lot of the time. It's best to use Zoukeimura finishing powder on tan/dark resins from what I've seen, it doesn't whiten the resin so much.

 

I have heard of MSC acting oddly like that if its very humid out. Perhaps that was the problem? My tan dolls are a bit lighter in shade from MSC compared to the unsprayed parts of their bodies, but not white.

 

Nola looks great! Which lashes did you use?

All my dolls, except my Tae, are tan and I only use ZM spray because of the "ashy" problem with MSC.
I can't wait for my Benny, Leila, to get home.

 

SO that mean I need ZM spray for I D: finding a place that carries it and be able to ship it to Canada is going to a challange u-u

Anyways, my proto type pants I made for Rose (leggings) are almost done. If all goes well, I will be making another pair to sell.

Some bird told my mom that I was planning on ordering another doll (at the time I was planning on getting RS Josh, but I went with I instead). Listening to lectures on why spend money on a stupid doll that serves no purpose while I should be going out, get married, and start a family on my own. Playing with dolls at your age is immature and childish drove me nuts u-u

SO to make my dolls to "serve a purpose", I am planning on selling some JID fashions since its hard to find things to fit our girls. This way, any money I make can goes towards buying doll things, dolls, and more materials to make more clothes, and not have to hear the nagging about my dolls >.>
