    2. Whee! new thread me first lol
I've ordered my KID now so in a week or two I will order the '3' Pearla sets!... I still may try to come up with one that looks more like the one on EG Bianca's page though. But in the next month or so my Bliss and "I" will have theirs!

I found the old digi camera and can now at least get pics onto my pc from it so maybe I needs a mini shoot now ^^

    3. Oh wow, a new thread and it isn't already full with posts? Well then, have some Kassia spam.

She is one of the latest members of my doll crew and I somehow have difficulties coming up with a good name for her. How do you go about naming your dolls?

Lady Tiku, the perla sets are so beautiful! I wished I had at least some excuse to buy them, but none of my girls live in that time era :(

    4. Wow! Your Kassia is gorgeous! It always amazes me how different a sculpt can look. Here's my Kassia.....

She was painted super pale, because she was going to become a 'snow princess'.

I don't rename my dolls, but just keep their sculpt names. I was never any good at naming things, plus I figure every time I post a photo anywhere I have to put the sculpt name in brackets anyways, so why bother?

    5. Yay new thread! :D

      Now for some spam!
Ananda (RS Leona) and James (PG Kyle) again! :) I know my other 20 JIDs (yes I know THAT many lol!) are ready to kill me because I've been acting like these 2 are the only ones in the house. :XD: I DO have a good reason though! I'm working on getting them clothes, trying my hand at faceups, etc while going to school full time. :) Hopefully I can share more pics as my dolly projects are completed. :)

    6. Sharkyra , she's a beauty. All of my dolls are resin representations of original characters so they usually have names before I get them (unless I'm waiting on them before creating a name like I did with my Delf boy). My suggestion for your Kassia is if you plan on keeping her in the 1920s theme, choose a name from that era. Do you have a grandparent or great-grandparent or other family member who lived during that time whose name would fit her?

    7. I saw her and immediately thought "Gwendolyn" http://media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/custom_covers/216x146/411868397110934902_1395787555.jpg

    8. Sharkyra Aww, I finally get to see her, I was wondering what she'd look like. Great styling, very lady like. Love the hat!
MB Lilac Your ice princess dress is fantastic.

Another Kassia, my little devil Stella and Sophia (Leona)
Both are kids compared to your ladies :)

    9. My dolls technically are all modern era... they are performers though. ^^ so 'costumes' go with the territory or they 'model' ;p ... and there is always a 'themed' Halloween party to go to eh? ~_^
As for names.. The famous "it girl" .... Clara Bow ^^ Clair works in this case too ... if your girl is a "boisterous, loud, outspoken vibrant" type (the kind to go to a speakeasy) they called those women hoyden's.... so Cara Hoyt as a play on the it girl and that 'type' of woman? ;p

oh and then there is this nifty site
      http://www.behindthename.com/random/

    10. Behind the Name is my go to place! Love it!

    11. [IMG]

Here's my Kassia, Tamberlyn. :) I love your girl's look, Sharkyra!

    12. Here's my Asami in a yukata I just finished. c:

I know the fabric isn't exactly the most natural for the outfit, but I wanted something to test it out on to make sure the pattern worked. c:

    13. Loving all the new thread spam. One month down waiting for my Colin, 1-2 more to go. *sighs*

    14. Ripley and I will be going to Dollism NY in Buffalo this weekend! :D It was a tough choice deciding whom to bring, but I decided to go with one JID and one SDCute (since I'm flying across the continent with a bad back, alas, no giant musclemen...). I will look forward to seeing any other JIDs who decide to attend.

    15. New thread with lots of great pictures! How fun to see all the different looks for Kassia, the JIDs are so very versatile!
Sharkyra when setting eyes on your girl I immediately thought of a young Phrynie Fisher from the miss Fisher Murder Mysteries. They take place in the twenties and your girl looks very much as she is described.

    16. Yay for the new thread and beautifull pics! I'm not seeing many guy's yet here, so lets fix it little bit Oliver's pic:
Sharkyra what comes to naming, sometimes I go trough namelisting on internet or in calender, just search some name's. When I find some cool or interesting name, I think would it somehow fit for the dolls looks. I just get the feeling of the doll when I see and get it to play little bit, what name feels suitable for this doll.

    17. Man I wish I was going so I could squeal over Ripley in person. But alas Airplanes don't do layaway ;) Anyways Have fun and take lots of pretty pictures! If this becomes a regular thing I'll go next year.

    18. Thanks, I will bring back lots of pics! Wish us luck travelling - this is the first time flying for both of these dolls. ^^

Hehe, Sharkyra's girl does look like a baby version of Phryne Fisher (subtract 30 years + 1 gun!)....

@Chibi-kagu, Oliver looks so shy, it's absolutely adorable... :chibi I love the way he's almost hiding behind that cute flop of red hair.

I have some boy spam to share.... Ripley and Max are named that way just because that's what they look like. xD Max is really a Massimiliano, though; I wanted a doll called Massimo at some point; but he went ahead and shortened his full name even further than I'd intended. He looks like a Max. I don't know why Ripley looks like a Ripley, but he just does. Dolls sometimes pick the names that just 'stick' to them.

    19. GOOD LUCK! I've never flown with my dolls so hopefully security doesn't give you too much trouble. If I was going I'd track you down just to say hi to Ripley XD. Love that little guy. I'm bouncing off the walls waiting for my boy to get home. HURRY UP. Anyways I'm looking forward to new pictures of Ripley.

    20. Have fun Jenny! Too bad I can't make it this year (living in NY too...tragic!).

I saw some fabric the other day and it was SO perfect for costumes for 2 of my girls that I took the plunge and bought some. *_* I wasn't planning to start this leg of my Iple project so soon (as with everything going on this is going to take much longer to complete), but I'm happy I didn't put it off. :) My storyline is historical/fantasy/another reality hopefully the outfits will look the way I'm hoping they will. :)

    21. Aww, too bad I don't get to meet either of y'all in person. ;; Well, I will have to take extra close documentation of any JIDs I do meet there.

I have flown with larger dolls many times-- either the people watching the scanner don't blink, or else they go "ooh look, it's a doll!". ^^ But you can never guess how that airport's personnel will treat you, so I'll keep fingers crossed for no TSA hassles too. :clover Buffalo is a looooong set of flights from San Francisco.

    22. At some point our Colins will need to meet Jenny. and Yeah I can imagine New York is all the way on the other coast from Ca. So jealous you get to go though.

    23. So Uhm I jut got some awesome news. I got an invoice from iplehouse asking for the rest of the money I owe them and I wasn't sure why they were sending me an invoice for the rest of the balance already so I asked them and got this response "We wanted to inform you that your dolls is finished. Since you haven't ordered make up, we can send your doll right away." So as soon as I pay him off my boy will be on his way home! :o:ablink::aeyepop::celebrate

    24. Wheeee! :celebrate: I can't wait to meet him! (Maybe he'll be home by the time Ripley & I get back from New York?)

    25. Not sure. I'm trying to convince myself to wait to pay him off till the end of the month. I put him on layaway to spread out the payments. I wasn't expecting him to be done in just a month. Damn you iplehouse for being so fast. XD. We'll see how long my self control lasts. :doh

    26. JennyNemesis Yeah, Oliver is a shy guy. Thank you! Your pic of Max and Ripley, somehow I did imagine them being camping and taking some pics there.:)
equine-aurora Sometime's Iplehouse is very fast! Hopefully you can get him payed up soon. We need more Colins here!;)

    27. Thanks I'm thinking in the next week or two I'll go ahead and pay him off.

    28. Anyone with an NS JID Owen got some pic spam... a fellow (local) club member is selling hers ... she just never took him out of box much less bonded.... but I don't think I care for NS boys... (not to mention her timing sux for me ><) But some NS Owen spam might help me decide if I want to work on a long LA with her... maybe.... Even some NS boys or girls with other (RS/PG) skins to compare with. I have JID "I" in NS soooo...

And if anyone else is interested I have the oportunity to verify his condition in person at a meet. JID boys are way down my doll list ;p

    29. Yay for the new thread pic spam! Love looking at everyone's beauties!

Here's my Arhi and her teddy bear.

    30. JennyNemesis Your boys are great! They look so adventurous and I love their outfits.

    31. kettarian Looks like she owns big teddy bear, cute. I really like her wig, where is it from?

    32. chibi-kagu, thanks a lot! She loves her bear :)
The wig is from Leekeworld. It's this one , but in a Christmas event color (they normally don't have any reds).

    33. Ruthwen: Oh I like her style! Very neat!

So I paid my order off on Friday so I should be getting a shipping notice tomorrow.

    34. I've just received word that he'll be leaving Iplehouse today (tues) So hopefully i'll have him by the end of the week.

    35. just go to the IH site on 'my iple' open your order sheet and somewhere near the bottom they have the shipping date... I go by that cuz it's what day "they" ship on ;p same for what the order date is ^^,

    36. I'm going off the answer they gave me when I asked if he had shipped yet. they said he'd ship later today. They gave me this answer within the last hour so "later today" means Tuesday since they're already in Tuesday.

    37. @ MB Lilac mostly cuz you are the closest I know of... ;p (but anyone in the area can please chime in!) A lot of "American Girl" stuff gets used for accessories and sets. There seems to be a similar doll series that is all Canadian... wondered if any of you know about the company and it's stuff... I will be getting the toboggan if it kills me lol

      http://www.maplelea.com/en/Default.aspx

Is this related to the AG company? They have a 'few' items that I dearly want... IF the scale is okay.. but I just found this (add on FB no less). I wonder if this would be 'too' big for the KID/BID sizes also... I suck at judging from pics alone ><

    38. It certaintly LOOKS like America girl doll.

    39. The dolls appear to be the same size as AG dolls, i.e., 18 inches, so my guess is the furniture will be somewhat big for BID/KID. Should work for JID. I have some AG furniture that I use for my Iples. Dolls' feet don't touch the floor when seated on chairs/sofas. Beds and dressers should work, however. I want that Maplelea toboggan. Does Maplelea sell across the border? I'm Canadian born--that has to count for something!

    40. [IMG]

The height difference between these two makes me happy <3

You can see the hand blushing I did on Robin in this pic too. Though I may have to redo it - on his ring finger there's a stray orange pastel mark that I didn't catch in time, which makes it look sort of like he's been eating Cheetos. :doh

    41. sort of but something about the AG girls smiles creeps me... not even sure what it is.

lol I am sure someone here would help you get it... ^^ did u see the more 'Inuit' styled one???[h=2]Qamutiik[/h] it's out of stock now but oh buy I want 'both'! the hook style tho is ... well mine in in the attic lets just say lol. And my kids need what "I" had ;p

LOL you know.. you're right! it does LOL but otherwise that's a great job.. And I know what you mean about the height difs... I never gave it a thought one way or the other... now I finding myslef considering 'do i want X if he's going to look awkward??' lol.

    42. Maplelea is it's own company and not affiliated with American Girl. They're Canada's answer to American Girl. The dolls are the same size as AG and can share clothing. If you are looking for Maplelea items they just recently began listing stuff on Amazon.

    43. Owen and Leona, ready to head out on an adventure....

    44. i just had to go take a look at the toboggan, i was so excited to find something that is actually already in canada! they do allow you to enter the us as a shipping destination so looks like they will ship international.

the funny thing about scale is you have to check the dolls width as well as height. since the ag/maplelea dolls are so much bulkier than jids the furniture will often appear too big even though they are close to the same height. it's like my pukifees fit into a lot of 1/6th action figure/barbie doll stuff better bids because the width works for them better. the stuff just looks to small on the bids even though they are the same height/scale

    45. I checked Amazon for Maplelea stuff. (Thanks for that info, kadepie.) So far it's clothing, a doll or two, and a few other items. No toboggan yet. I like the Inuit style toboggan, but think I'll stick with the basic. Is it just me, or does their stuff appear to be unfinished wood? I guess that's fine if you have the time and the inclination to finish it yourself, but I've been spoiled by AG stuff that's ready to use right out of the box.

Both AG and Maplelea smiles creep me out, Tiku. With AG it's the two front teeth. Hello Bucky Beaver! The Maplelea smiles look a little maniacal to me. Doesn't really matter, as I'm not interested in the dolls, only their furniture, pets, accessories, etc.

Looks like my JIDs will go tobogganing this winter! Thanks for checking, auntbear.

    46. oh did you notice the 'dog sled type' will be available in NOVEMBER!

and I can deal with the M-lea mouth... but the eyes are waaaaaaaay too 'dolly-ish' ... reminds me too much of all the doll eyes of blinking dolls I grew up with... & never really liked lol.

@ MB love the sweaters! ^^

@ aunt Bear, I find the 1/6 'barbie-esque' furniture works for the BID's like play furniture or 'small furniture' that humans get for kids and playhouses... I can just see a bigger doll looking into a BID's scaled house asking them 'having fun playing house'? I have several items from when "I" was small (loved my kitchen cupboard), the nice wooden stuff.

    47. So it seems my boy is heading to Alaska first. Is that normal? I mean I guess Alaska is the closet state to Korea I just remember people saying they dolls go to chicago to enter the US. Accourding to the flight tracker that is the final destination but the plane is stopping in Anchorage then Miami before finally stopping in Chicago. the Anchorage to Miami part is what I find weird. It would make more sense to me to go to Chicago from Anchorage then onto Miami. Anyways just seems weird to me.

    48. i'm in canada not us, but we have more than one customs entry point depending on where the parcel is coming from and where we live (and sometimes i think the day of the week ;)). it can end up coming in at either end of the country depending on the flight it is on. so i would imagine the us (with more people/parcels etc) has more than one customs entry as well. besides which when has any postal service made sense?

    49. Totally meant to put that in the waiting room not the discussion thread. Opps. But thank you for the input auntbear.

    50. Parcels can also come in on direct flights into the middle of the country, at least here in Canada. All my Iplehouse dolls came directly from Korea into Toronto.

    51. oddly enough in canada that is the eastern customs entry point for a lot of things. mine usually come either through toronto or vancouver then here. i've had doll stuff travel from directly south or even south west of us all the way to toronto and then back, and we are way closer to vancouver.

    52. Whether a flight goes to Alaska or not seems to depend on which airline it is. KAL flies direct to US cities in the lower 48; Asiana appears to stop in Anchorage first. I'm assuming Asiana flies smaller planes and they need to stop for refueling. My company's jet does the same thing on long flights--it makes at least one refueling stop. So, it's nothing to get too panicked about. It just takes a little longer than KAL.

    53. So erm hi there everyone! I just wanted to share a photo of my JID Colin!

He's my first Iplehouse doll~ and I love him so much! >w<

Oh gosh MB Lilac! I've seen your guys and girls around the place!! I think the costumes you make and photos you take are so amazing and inspiring! :D >///< *goes back to lurking*

    54. OH! It's so nice to see another Colin! I have a Colin on the way! *high fives new Colin buddy*

    55. :D Did you win that guy in the triathlon, is that him? :cake: Congratulations!! What a sweet little pixie he is. I love that shaggy haircut on him, and he's got the most wonderfully impish-sweet smile. A Colin is the most wonderful critter to have around the house. Especially a Colin with freckles.

My own Colin and I just got back from Dollism - I will share some pics of him looking suave at the Buffalo Hyatt soon. ^^

    56. Cute guy!

My Owen and Leona are two of the five IH dolls I've chosen to take along on our upcoming road trip. I much prefer sewing elaborate fantasy outfits, and not really into more modern clothes for my bigger dolls, and I'm definitely not a big fan of sewing pants, but I wanted a more contemporary-looking 'family' group. Here they all are all ready to go hiking in the Rockies....
