Iplehouse Discussion (YID, nYID, SID, EID, HID) Part 12

Sep 9, 2020

    1. I've taken to keeping spare wrist covers too.............as I am always having issue with them falling out, although the FID's seem to have more issues than the bigger dolls.
Took Claire (Harace) and Geillis(Eva) out for some photos today. More on my Outlander Doll blog:

    3. @IngieBee @JinCIncy Thank you for your replies- I guess I will just keep those wrist pieces separately for now, so that I don't lose them... sounds like this is a common issue with the Iple dolls?

    4. @JinCIncy Lovely girls- and such beautiful knitted items they are wearing!

    7. That used to happen to my Bianca - in her case, it was the S hook dislodging the crescent thing, once I had unhooked her hand and re-hooked it with the opening facing the other way, the thingy stayed in place.

      • x 3
    8. @Jany Ahhh that's very interesting- thank you for mentioning this, I will check to see if it's the S hook causing this! Thank you! :)

    9. ooh, never heard of that before, thanks, I'll give that a go!

    12. @Olga Borontova Thank you! She is my only Iplehouse girl, and probably the prettiest doll in my collection :3

The outfit your girl is wearing is awesome- I like the combination of the sweater with the short pants and stockings and big boots, I want to dress up my girl in a similar style now- so cool!

    13. Lotte Rotten
Thank you for your attention to my work! Yes, you are right - girls Iplehouse - amazingly beautiful!!! And they have an excellent figure!!!

    14. @Lotte Rotten Wow, is that Mari? She is beautiful, and I especially love her brows. I love the shape. I'm kind of a geeky brow person, especially since I absolutely can't paint them :D She's really beautiful :D

@Olga Borontova , another lovely sweater, wow, you knit fast!!! I just started knitting a year ago, and I know how much work you must put into those delicate stitches, amazing!!

    15. IngieBee
Thank you for your wonderful words! I've been knitting... from 7 years old :) But I can't sew at all:) It would be interesting to try wallowing! I really like it when wallowing is used on sweaters!

    16. Gorgeous girl!!!

    17. I was taking a few photos today and took Rowana out to give her
some time in front of the lens. Rowana is a peach HID Rebecca.
Her Renaissance outfit is completely hand made. The laces are
French Maligne cotton lace, the petticoat, chemise and under-
skirt are fine cotton batiste. The overdress is silk dupioni.

Time to give some boys attention. :XD:

    21. Aaaah thank you so much!! Oh my gosh I was thinking of blushing and freckling his chest too! Especially since his neck and décolleté area is exposed with his outfit. I am soooo scared to restring him though LOL so I’ve been putting it off hahaha!

    22. Popping in to say I got my Bibiane on the New SID body yesterday and OMG i love the new joints. They're so easy to use and they stay put!! I like having both bodies, but I wish there was some way to get the new joints for the old one lol.

She's going to get restrung today so her thighs will stay in their sockets, and I hope I can do her faceup this weekend. She's so pretty...thank you to everyone who posted photos when I was trying to decide which sculpt I wanted! She's perfect!

EDIT: I know she's blank and bald (she's still blank, but she's dressed, wigged and has temporary eyes.), but I still wanted to post a proof-of-life photo XD

    23. Congrats! She’s so pretty, even bald and blank. Can’t wait to see what you do with her :D

    24. @RamenDoodles Thank you! I'm working on her faceup now, it probably won't get done today, but she could be done enough to put together for a quick pic...*fingers crossed*

    25. She’s GORGEOUS already!! So much potential in that sculpt how elegant! :chibi

    26. I feel like such a doof with my drive-by photo spamming and then disappearing forever. But I just gotta share the oYID love with one of the pics I took of my Louis girl, Michelle.

More pictures can be found here.

Still my favorite purchase flub. :XD: I continue to be amazed by how easy she was to put together when I never actually meant to get a Louis head to begin with.

@luluna Wowza what a handsome guy! :D Love that shirt and the long hair. Gives him a really romantic look.

@Olga Borontova Super cute knit tops on your girl. I’m a huge sucker for knitwear on dolls. :aheartbea

@VampireAngel13 Congrats on your new lady making it home safe and sound! :) Iplehouse sculpts look so nice even when blank (true for the old school ones too). What kind of plans do you have for her styling?

You have an amazing beauty!!!! :thumbup
Thank you for the kind words to our address with Margo (SID Harace) :)

    28. Thank you!

She's so pretty!! I love her look, and that's a great photo!
And thank you! She did look nice blank, but I couldn't wait to start getting her ready to go (she's the third sculpt for this character and by far the best - she grew out of most of her clothes tho, this is all that fits XD)

Her is her partial faceup - those eyes don't quite fit. I need to find her some that work until I get some "real" eyes.

    29. OMG you got her! :D Can't wait to see more of her! :aheartbea

    30. I did!! and thanks @Jany your photos were the deciding ones for me! :D

    31. @Olga Borontova Thank you! :aheartbea

@VampireAngel13 Thanks so much! I waited I think it was 3-4 months for that skirt to arrive in the mail when Russia Post was dragging butt on getting packages out. :sweat Michelle has been wearing it for several months now since I want to get as much use out of it as I can after waiting so long for it.

Oof I feel that about reshelling a character so many times. I got one boy that started off as a Limhwa Mono, then went on to Unoa Elder Zest hybrid (and went through 2 bodies), and now he’s finally settled on being a full Unoa Elder boy. :chomp: Glad your girl finally plopped into a sculpt you’re happy with. :thumbup She looks super cool, even unfinished. Black lipstick is just so *chef’s kiss* I was super close to having Michelle given black lips rather than the matte brown (a bold crimson was also a final contender).

      • x 1
    32. @Singull That skirt was definitely worth the wait! it's perfect!!

Ha ha sometimes it's so hard to find the right look! Olivia's (Bibiane) first head was a Ringdoll Senkai I had, so I didn't buy a doll just for her. Her second head was a head I bought to be Poison Ivy (her fourth head - I had a hard time with Ivy) when I ended up using the Senkai as Poison Ivy, so I didn't buy that one for her either. This is the first time I actually shopped out a mold just for her, and it's just what I wanted (kind of a softer version of Senkai really).
And thank you! I often have a hard time between a deep red and black lips. Her first two heads (which are still around) had red so I decided to go all black!
Brown was the right choice! I love it, it's different and very striking.

    33. @VampireAngel13 It really can be! I’ve definitely repurposed a doll sculpt to different characters before; it’s so very nice on the wallet.
But anyway, the black really works on her. Are you sticking with a matte style or are you going to add gloss?

And some more photo spam ‘cause why not?

I should really see about taking new pictures of my other Iplehouse sculpts. It’s such a pain dealing with these big’uns though. :sweat I’m far more accustomed to flinging my minis around.

      • x 9
    34. @Singull hahaha repurposing dolls into other characters has been the theme of my 2020 BJD year!
I'm not actually sure yet. I've left the gloss off - but I have been doing that with a lot of my faceups recently - and I like the matte a lot. I figure I can always gloss her later if I change my mind. I'm going to try and get a decent picture of her later.

She's so pretty!! I love the older, pre-giant Iplehouse molds, it's nice to see them get some love. Kamau was my first (no longer with me) but I had wanted a couple of the older sculpts from Iplehouse back in the day, it just never happened.

    35. @Olga Borontova Margo has a lot of jumpers/sweaters huh? :aheartbea

@VampireAngel13 Hah oh yeah? That’s great though since you can get more use out of a doll. :thumbup Yeah, matte lips are so nice, I’ve really fallen for them the last few years. Can’t wait to see more pictures. :)

It’s always a very pleasant surprise for me when I stumble upon new photos of the old YIDs. They have such a classic old school look. I personally just have Soori and Louis out of the old’uns. Freezia was my first, but I sold her a few years ago (lowkey wish I hadn’t since she’s such a hard sculpt to find secondhand now). Doesn’t seem like I see much of the older EIDs these days either; I think there’s one person I follow on Instagram that has a Gentle Akando.

    36. Singull
Thank you for paying attention to our work with Margot! You know who you love - that's what you delight :)

I understand you! Akando - this was the first BJD that charmed me! He's unrealistically beautiful!

    39. Hey everyone! I’m considering a doll project and was wondering if anyone had photos of an HID male with either a NYID male or an SID male? I want them to have a big height difference to fit their characters, but I want to make sure it looks like just a height difference and not a mere mortal approaching a primordial god or something lmao I’m really hoping I won’t have to go w an EID since that height difference is pretty small...

    40. If you log into the Iplehouse website, they have a whole section with pics of the bodies and I'm pretty sure there's some height comparisons in there too.

    41. here they all are in a line. I think it should be fine

    42. Hi! Are there any other places besides Iplehouse where I can get heels for my nYID girl? I'm sure there is, but I would like to confirm first. :3

    43. A reminder that posting photos of dolls in clothing that has been made for sale and is concurrently for sale, even in linked off-site venues, is not allowed. It does not matter if the exact sale photos are used or not. The discussion threads are intended for sharing your own dolls and their own "owned" clothing, not to post surreptitious advertisements for a business.

    44. Hello! I am planning on purchasing an iplehouse EID Asa for myself as a Christmas present after a long hiatus from the hobby. On the iplehouse website it says that they use a 9-10inch wig. Is this generally true for the EID heads when buying from other places? Thanks!!!

      • x 1
    45. @Bambi Darling - For an EID female many 8-9 wigs fits and those with a stretchy cap like Monique wigs a 7-8 size works.

@Olga Borontova - Thank you so much! :)

    46. I broke with at least one of Iple's recent outfits. Here's their "black nobel dress" minus the tulle/side frill section (it's also lovely, but my girl takes up my entire desk with it and I prefer without). 8cms of lacing up the back of it but it just feels so indulgent.
Just ran out with few minutes of good light before the wind picks up again (and I was snagging a quick pic while I'm working). XD

    47. Wow, I fell off notifications again, and missed so many pretty dolls/pictures :) Really needed some photo spam, so thank you to everyone who has been posting them :D

    48. She is so gorgeous may I ask what skin tone she is? ❤️

    49. @Bambi Darling Thank you! She is normal skin tone- (sculpt of my girl is Nancy btw)

      • x 1
    50. @Ice Mutt , Is that a Luna? or??? Where did the grey skin come from??

    51. @IngieBee Nope! She's my Grace Elf, gray skin came from ordering her through the Doll Choice custom options.

    52. Everytime I come here my brain gets beauty overload ;)

Soo... anyone give in to temptation and make use of the Holiday event?^^

@Lotte Rotten I think I missed Anuska the first time, she is such an impressive addition to your unique troupe. I really adore the Nancy face sculpt, but I never saw her like this before <3

    53. Does anyone have an EID Asa they could spam? I’m waiting for my Christmas bonus to order her. So impatient! I would love to see her in white skin but any will do!

    54. I had NO IDEA you could choose a different color with Doll Choice! If I didn't already have a doll to be my night elf, man, I'd so get Grace (I also already have Grace, so maybe Aurora, LOL) She's gorgeous if I haven't said so yet, LOL :D

Just what I need, more temptation! And looking at Doll Choice, I just realized Alberto would make an awesome Elvis Presley, no?

    55. My Ada (nYID) is finally here! And a lot sooner than expected. I liked her promo pics so much, I got her exactly like them (both human and cyborg heads, clothes, wig, all option parts + blushing and makeup). She shipped with her human head and human left arm strung, and while I got her a few days back I only just now had time to restring her with the heel feet/cyborg arm/cyborg head and put her outfit on (her outfit was a nightmare to put on and I am not looking forward to taking it off even though it might stain). Her name is Styx, after the river from Greek mythology. Better photo's coming (hopefully) soon.
