@Bren I do really like how proportional the FID look like compare to their SID version, but sadly I've tried and retried, FID isn't a good choice for me even I was thinking of switching my entier crew into fashion size (oooups what a danger idea lol) Your Claude looks great on the nYID boy body, I see him younger and sweeter About Chris, I was thinking to put him with the model SID body, because the neck circumference is 11.2 cm (muscle is 12cm) and the nYID boy body is 11.3cm, even bigger as neck hole with the tiny 0.1cm but Iple didn't allow me to do so even there's evidence that it fits

@Quiet and Insane All my bjds share clothes (even between ladies and boys lol) Your leonard looks perfect in this set of clothes, I do have a Leonard, too, he's in light brown but on the HID body.

@Khlovera So about a nYID Chris head on an SID model body I have kind of just that.. Well the Vampire version anyway.
In fact I got some of the very last dolls mixing heads from other lines with SID model boys before they stopped allowing that.
I have a EID elf Aurora on the male SID model body at the same time as I got a vampire Chris on the same bod.
Both heads do in fact need the neck sanded for a better fit. I have sanded my vampire boy Kyle's neck, but have not gotten around to Zed my elf boy's yet.

This is Kyle my vamp Chris is normal skin.

Your Moon is just lovely. Love the colors of her Kimono.
Claude is in reality an Eric. The face sculpt are similar. And I love them both.
I wish I would feel the same bout the FID, but since I'm one of the ones who loves the HID body, I like it on the FID. Bummer about your plans for Chris. But don't give up hope. You never know what you will find in the future.

Great. You shared your Chris. I like him. You are able to do sanding down with NS but it's not so easy to do so with the darker colors. Thank you for showing him and that it can be done with some modding. I figure it could be done, if you are keeping it as one character and not sharing. Would you know if it would impact other SID head if you ever wanted to use it for another head? Just curious.

 

@Bren So to me the top of the model body's neck seems ever so slightly wider then both the SID muscle body neck and the nYID (have not gotten out a ruler to find out for sure). I do love the model body to bits, so have a lot of IH heads on it, I have the following molds all on the model bod. Vincent, Zenon, Dean, Dane, Erik, Caleb, vampire Claude, vampire Chris and Aurora elf. I've noted some of the SID heads fit tighter then others on it. So like the little bit of modding I did to my Kyle's neck just makes those tighter feeling fits work better, heck I have debated sanding a few of those ones down not just my elf boy.

As is I know my mod has not impacted the sharing of some heads. Because I did test a few of them on Kyle's bod when I first sanded it to double check that I didn't ruin it, just in case I changed mind on his body choice. However I forget which ones I tested other then Zed my elf, and the testing was cuz I plan other body mods for Kyle and debated how badly I want to alter a perfectly good SID model. I want to make him a bit of a plus sized boy, as his character is over weight. Kyle's got two forms as character and now two different doll versions. One normal skin SID and one gray skin nYID, and slowly I am working on making his normal/human form look like his RP counter part's base.

Side note, as I have a lot of IH guys and a few girls in my home I can say for sure some heads across their sizes seem to have tighter fits on the body's they were meant for. So might be a mold casting/sizing thing more then a the model body has a wide top to the neck. Hope all that info helps those with hybrid and modding plans.

Oh and I have a close up of Zed his neck is still unmodded the fit's tight but usable, to the point I feel he will need far less sanding then Kyle did.

Fun fact Zed is in part of the outfit that came on my other version of Kyle (the gray nYID Chris) which I got new as a full set way back when.

Your Eric looks so good on that body!! thank you for the photo, I'm still not sure what head to get (I'm leaning towards Edan in light brown). I'm not into muscles, Volks SD17 has always been my favorite male body but I love more the Iplehouse faces. An hybrid is impossible, so I had my eyes on the model body but then I saw the question about the YID body (I never thought of that before! ) and then I wondered... the only drawback I see is the height. YID is 63cm while my girls are 60cm but they use high heels and I like the boys to be taller... 65cm is like the perfect height for me... if I get YID he will have to use platforms ha!

Does anyone have photos of the SID model body and YID body together? I searched everywhere, even in Google, and couldn't find anything.

@Tippetarius Thanks for the photo reference and I love your Kyle's lips color I wish I could be lucky enough to travel back at that time and jump onto that last "ordering mix SID nYID etc. boat" I've seen Chris as a girl on HID female body and she looks fabulous. Your Aurora looks so cool! Is she (he?) on the SID boy body? A lot of SID boys, according to me, would be looking even better as an EID, e.g: Zenon and Caleb both have a very mature face compare to the others.

@Bren Thank you! And Yue is wearing a Chinese Hanfu actually. I always mixed up with Eric and Claude lol and they do look like twin brothers to me, almost identical face with minor differences. I have them both sitting in my shopping cart for a while, I would wait till mid June to see how will Iple change their shipping rate. (1 sid is about $130 to Canada now)

@Jazijaz I actually don't have this kind of side by side comparaison photo, but there's one that showing on their site, I don't know if that could be helped a little bit.

@Khlovera I also confuse Eric with Claude and I think I know their differences but then I don't I can only distinguish those differences when they are both side by side but if I see an Eric alone I always confuse him with Claude...

I wanted to purchase my Claude until the next year or wait for special discounts but the only reason why I'm buying now is because of the shipping thingy. Iplehouse said it would increase after June 14 but then again right now they calculate shipping by weight and after June 14 they will do it by size. Claude is big....don't know if the weight makes shipping more expensive than the size so I'm afraid to wait until mid june and find out the size is more expensive....

shipping for my YID Claude is $174no items....just the naked doll

The first time I ordered him was in 2013 and with 5 outfits...I paid $84 for EMS to USA. It increased $100??? jesus....I hope it doesn't increase more....now I want to wait like you to see if the rate will be lower but what if it's more expensive??

I went back and read the notice again:

could it be that they reached the limit quantity already and that's why the shipping is too high?

Someone from USA or Cananda who ordered during march-april, was the shipping $174/$130?

Then they say )for layaway orders) if the last payment is made after June 10 they will be paying the increased shipping fee....

is June 10 now in korea.....I'm so confused....should I order now or....>____<

This part is also confusing: "However, if you paid the increased shipping cost, but the shipment is earlier than expected to 6/15,. we will refund the remaining shipping cost."

If I order now there is no chance that my order will ship before 6/15 so I still have to pay the increased price....if $174 is the increased price....

I'm too late now to ask Iplehouse all these questions....I should have read more carefully before ....

 

@Arletstar Thank you for showing the info and I just went back to double check again, the shipping fee seems to be lower, 1 SID = $93 USD instead of $130 which made me "uhmmm" if I should buy them now

something weird just happened:
SID male (by DC) x 1 = $88
SID male (basic) x 1 = $93

is this $5 special discount applied for DC order? kidding lol

As Iple usually did summer discount for basic doll, I wonder if I should order my Claude via DC now as it's only free DC fee during the discount, but it's at least 10% off for basic doll (and I need to inclus the fact about adding the increase shipping...)
Okay...time to do some math

 

@Khlovera thank you for mentioning the summer discount lol I was also playing around and adding different orders. DC YID is the one for $174 while DC SID is $110 what's going on? lol and basic SID is $10 more expensive than DC SID....

during the summer discount Doll choice fee is free? ......gosh, why did I sell my 2013 Claude...I feel like this is punishment lol

The shipping fee for doll orders has been increased. Due to policy changes by the shipping company, All shipping charges are based on the box size, not the box weight. We've adjusted the doll order shipping fee. However, the item box order shipping fee is not changed yet.

Item box order shipping fee will be adjusted on 6/14.
So, we recommend that you order the items before shipping fee is increased.

If you order only in-stock items, we would ship it within 3~5 days.

@AdanneO oooooh so it increased now....they're saying it is by box size and not by weight but when I add items the shipping fee increases so right now it is by weight....is the YID heavier than SID? or the box is larger? YID for me is 174 compared to $110 for SID.

@Khlovera glad you like Kyle's lip color he is my gothest of goth boys so needed to have black lips and nails.

Zed is a he, and on the model SID body. I got Zed and Kyle at the same time and had to plead to keep my order as they made it but told me heads do not fit change it, and I was like no these are dream dolls I can and will make it work even if that means sanding things my self. So my two guys were likely their last between sizes SID boys. Now sadly the only way to hybrid other IH heads to the male SIDs is to get two dolls and trade the heads your self, and that is super costly. Though maybe you could find someone wanting X SID head on a YID boy that would cover half the cost. /shrug

As for some heads looking more mature, that is 100% why I wanted them as SIDs in the first place. I love the new model body, and new female SID, and as much as I like my other at home Iplehouse dolls I am not going back to those other bodies. Sorry the new joints have spoiled me XD. Also more then that where as I have a few bigger dolls I own and love (like Alucard my EID Chase), I have found my fav doll size is SID (model), so having a wide range from younger guys to grown men on that body makes me happy. Might be why I keep buying them. X3

On the topic at hand of shipping costs I am so scared I will have to pay extra to see my vampire Dane. /sigh

 

@Arletstar For YID & SID for USA regular EMS I'm getting $120. I put one YID boy in cart and checked shipping, then deleted, then put one SID boy in cart and checked shipping.

"item box" just means you purchased just wigs, clothes, etc., no dolls.

Edit: I tried with Doll Choice and got the same price for both as well, but it is higher $165.

by VittaVera. I’m so happy with her more ‘approachable’ look now - no more black eye shadow
for a gal who is meant to be from ~1895. She now needs some proper period clothing. She’s
shown here with her Ramses - SID ors Felix, enhanced by LynRaftis. Both are wearing 12mm
Gumdrops eyes. I’m trying to decide if Nefret ‘needs’ 10mm eyes instead.

 

This is so weird. We are getting different shipping prices and mine are even different than before. Now I get DC YID at $165 and DC SID at $110.50 and both basic dolls at $120

I guess this is a sign I shouldn't buy my Claude I want YID Claude, he shouldn't be $165 or $174 like it was a few hours ago. I would be fine if he was $110....I sent a message to IH. Why is everyone getting different prices for the same destination and why YID is more expensive than SID.

 

Ugh, this is why I haven't bought from Iplehouse in over a year

 

What the *&^%$ $120 for EMS????!!!! I miss the $65 or 85 for shipping, guess my Zera is the only SD size doll I will own from them. Unless I win the lottery.

 

I'm afraid hyper inflation is coming, 17% reduction in buying power this year already. FYI, be aware, and do what you can, but as one person from a country that lived through this a few times said, be nice and helpful to your neighbors, make friends because we are going to need each other

I'm testing a bunch of "orders" out right now (shipping to Canada), and so far I've gotten standard model SIDm, YIDm, EIDf, SIDf, and YIDf at $93, EIDm at 118. When I run the numbers with DC, YIDf, SIDf, SIDm, EIDw, and HIDw are coming in at 87, YIDm at 125, EIDm is coming in at 118, and HIDm is coming in at 157. The YID man DC shipping makes no sense, so I might try sending them a message asking what's up with it. I also wish the HIDm body wasn't so expensive... I'd really like one to upgrade my Kamau on the old buttflap body...

 

@Arletstar The DC fee is about $50 something (than price of basic or limited dolls) and will be free of DC fee during summer or Christmas sale, is not big as discount on basic dolls which is about 10-15% off usually. uhmmm...decision decision! and please share Iple's answer if you may I'm curious on how does this calcul made

Thank you @Khlovera I think I will wait for discounts since the price already increased and when I purchase it will be naked, no extras and no face up to save for what I would pay in shipping (I love IH face ups and I'm not good at face ups but hey, I'm not rich lol) I won't purchase now at that price, IH didn't respond yesterday hopefully they do today. I'm not paying more than $110 for my YID Claude...$110 already makes me cry....

Does anyone think the price of the resin and how long it takes to make a doll and then the shipping materials could be the reason behind the rise in cost? I assume it is like pouring porcelain and waiting longer for it to set?

Unfortunately, the printing of money by the fed is creating inflation which they say is temporary, but I'm not so sure. Anyways, the US dollar is the reserve currency and since it's falling, it means virtually everything will become more expensive all over the world.

 

One of my oldest boys from Iple ... and one with a history. Bought him as first owner, sold him, regretted it, bought him back, cherish him ever after ...

@Ashemanu , Kamau is the first Iplehouse doll I ever saw, at a doll show, and that's when I fell in love with Iplehouse. He was beautiful! I just couldn't get myself to buy such a big doll so I bought a JID instead. I never thought I'd go to SD size but I have. He's as gorgeous as ever. It's sad they don't make him anymore, or do they in doll choice?

they dont, sadly. He was part of the 2018 discontinuation, and even before that, he’d been redone since his original like, 2010(?) version, but I can’t recall what year they did that in!

 

Yah, I remember, such a bummer 'cause he's hot!

 

It's really sad they don't. Honestly if you're going to have an option to get different sculpts, they should offer most, if not all of them. They are only open for 15 days each month on doll choice so it couldn't hurt. I'd like to see them brought back.
Kamau is still popular as is Tedros and a few others, yet they aren't offered in Doll choice. Some of the females too which hits because hunting them secondhand is really hard.

Makes me wonder if they'll ever create one of each sculpt in each size or if FID will get all of them.

 

I think it's a matter of the silicon molds. If they only last a year or say 50 uses, but they only get maybe 3 orders in a year, and the molds are expensive, it costs too much to keep them available. So I can't blame them

 

Well, it wasn't so bad, shipping for YID was confirmed by IH. $119.75....it's $35 more than what I paid ....8 years ago...it's not too bad considering it's been a long time...

wow 8 years...life really goes by very fast. At the time I was very young and he was my first doll but I felt overwhelmed by the size and guilty by the $ I spent...it just wasn't the right time for me so I'm glad to be back and get him again this time. He is my grail. Hopefully in the future I can bring home more IH dolls, they are just so unique for me even after so long.

I second the leather pants!! Both my big Iple boys are still only borrowing clothes. I need to really sit my butt down one day and do some serious clothes shopping for them!

 

If I wasn't so lazy Id get a leather outfit together for him for some pictures but oof. Covid really be taking all my motivation to do anything.
