I promised to make something for my neglected big girls, and this time it was Seraphine's turn. She is happy with her new romantic flower dress...

My first SID arrived today! (Stella) and I'm desperately searching for a pattern to fit her. Can you point me in the right direction?

 

Except for looking at etsy, I don't know? I also don't know what you like? BUT, you can make a pattern using the body wrap method Also you can check all the free patterns in the workshop area? @Violet Kidd

Thank you SO MUCH. My poor naked doll is looking forward to a pair of pants and a t-shirt.

 

i saw t-shirt pattern on etsy, but its easy to do it yourself. ussualy you can buy pdf pattern and resize it. like from fid to sd is 140% need to be printed. working as hell.

 

The EIDW Black leather leggings, they still have them for $13.00 and I may get another pair when I get paid next week. I really love them, but if they were real leather they would be more than 13 dollars.

 

i think so its faux leather, as i sewing most of this kind of fabric to imitate leather. its soft and easy to work.

 

I took a pants pattern I had for SD and widened it in the hips and lengthened the waistband a tad. For a first attempt, it's not too bad, but the next iteration will be tighter in the leg. The sweater is just freehand knitting. Again, it was a first attempt. It will take a little while for me to develop a feel for what will work for this doll. She's fabulous. Those pants are what the runways are showing. It's not so tight this season, and the legs are wider. So you are on trend.

What is it about these dolls that is so addictive? I suspect my compulsion is affected by the lag time between when I buy a doll and when I actually have her. So I don't get the satisfaction from the purchase that I would get if I walked into a store and bought something. That's my theory, anyway. And it's my excuse for buying a YID Rexy today. I am surely going to hell, but I'm taking my dolls with me.

LOL. I really thought I was only going to buy one...
But I watch Allison Hernandez’s channel (knowledgeable and delightful) - Munecas, Poupees and Dolls. Then there’s all the talent on DOA. The dolls have so much appeal, no matter what one does one is always happy working with them. The lag time makes you even more focused. I’m taking my dolls into the next life, too!

At this point my husband is kind of into it and I’ve had several friends fall in love with the whole idea. They just keep on giving.

 

Now there's a thought, have all my dolls inserted into the coffin with me, and my family won't have to deal with all my dolls when I go Great Idea!!!

 

You are lucky! My husband is tolerant (he understands that I've always been O/C and go overboard on everything I do) but the rest of my family just think I'm crazy. Luckily I've made some good doll friends on the internet.

@Violet Kidd very beutifull dolls. i have good support from my family. My partner likes to make furniture, but dont have time for that. But he likes my hobby and if i want new doll, his unswer always, Go, buy if you like it.

Has anyone an idea where to get SID boy boots/shoes from? My experience with Iple is that they don´t fit (too small), same with the ebay sellers I tried. Most shoes are for EIDs anyway, and they are too large imo.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated

When you buy from the company, do you pay for customs tax? Because when I buy from Alice's Collection, there's no need. I am eyeing their dolls but am afraid of the custom tax.

 

Last time I bought from iple, they marked my doll choice nYID as costing $80, and she didn’t get dinged in customs (though Canada customs can be lazy about that!) iirc most European customs seem to be more diligent, so it depends on where you are.

 

Can I drop off some spam of my favorite Iple guy? (he's also my only Iple guy...but still)

Souldoll Tera Zenith, SSDF, Dollmore ModelM. Rrabbit had some nice SID shoes, I don't know if they're what you are looking for. Or you could check for the company shoes mentioned above.

@IngieBee If you feel that way about your pictures it probably just means that you have been in the hobby for so long and have seen so many pictures that your expectations changed .

I don't want to insult your photographic skills by posting this very basic list, but I just wrote a blogpost for a friend who asked for some tips.

On photos, I've ended up relying on my phone a lot (can't call them potato quality anymore!) since my wrists don't do as well supporting the actual cameras anymore. It's like big doll or big camera, pick one, for me. I'm still eyeing external macros lenses for phones (the Moment ones if anyone has any feedback on those).

I should get some new pics of my girl again soon, this one's from a couple weeks ago but I'm still very much loving all the bottoms I got from Jeans by Jenna! I need to see if I can find her some sneakers that fit well.

 

@Ice Mutt Alice Collections has some sneakers that fit the big girls.

I have them in SD size, and those with lacing fit the girls.

His mask is modded on (he perm). I tried the mask as removable, but couldn't really do a good enough job, and then what I had ruined the faceup on his original head - which is Bane (now just his Bruce Wayne head - who really only comes out around christmas now lol). If I'd planned ahead to have two heads I would have picked my Bruce head better! But Bane works.

Those jeans are fantastic! They look real. She looks great!
