    2. New thread! Here's another photo of Ringo as Shirley Temple. The first one is back on part 6.

And good news--BID Naias has finally turned up in the USPS tracking system. That means the earliest she can find her way home to me is Tuesday, because I'm pretty sure there is no mail Monday (Presidents Day).

    3. Can't wait to see your Naias!

My girls had a Valentine Party today....

ruskles - how about starting off this new thread with that group photo? Nothing like an entire kindergarten to get us all excited!

    4. not a new picture but aerin hasn't been on the thread in a while so she wanted to be on the first page of this one

    5. Lovely pictures! I can't figure out how to post from Flickr using my phone, so I'll have to help christen the new thread later.

    6. Yay for new photos!

My Addiction Byuri arrived today and her eyelashes are falling off. Any tips on how to put them back on? Superglue? I don't want to gunk up her face, but they are a hot mess. Honestly, they are much darker and longer than the eyelashes on my previous BIDs - they almost touch her eyebrows which makes her look a bit silly. I'm hoping it's just for the Addicition BIDs because I'm planning on getting a Serca this summer and I don't want her to have these lashes!

    7. i wouldn't use super glue. apparently it makes it really hard to take them off again if you ever have to redo the face up. i use aleenes fast grab tacky glue for all mine and it works well. you can probably find other suggestions on the workshp threads.

    8. I still have yet to add a BID to my collection, hopefully I will this year in either LB or PG skin tone. I just can't pick which one I want, they are all so adorable.

    9. I second this. The lashes will stay on until you purposely pull them off.

Which ones are your favorites? I think most people end up with more than one eventually anyway. :)

    10. Yeah please dont use superglue, i glued some head magnets in with it an it affected the resin (made it go chalky and cloudy)

    11. [IMG]

Phoebe snuck out without her mittens and coat today.

    12. I also used superglue on a head magnet. Bad idea! I accidentally reversed the polarity of the magnet, and then I couldn't get it out to reposition it.

For eyelashes, I always use Aleene's Tacky Glue. It sticks, but if you have to remove it later you can without much trouble.

    13. Here's a pic of my Coco with her new 11mm eyes. I have decided to call her "Bessie" after all. I also added to her faceup a bit, though mostly kept the one she came to me with.

Also, Serca got a new faceup. Click HERE to see! I am really pleased with the lips, which were too heavy on her old faceup, though I've decided she needs more color around her eyes and a bit more color on her cheeks. Hopefully, I will be able to do that this week.

    14. aww both real cuties!!

    15. This is the glue I use. I find it better than the white stuff.

    16. vermont chick, Ringo's wig to look like Shirley Temple's hair style. Shame I never saw her movies so 5% of her song is exactly 5% more than I know :(

MB Lilac, you really can open kindergarden right away! And your photos always so awesome! So much details - they can easily be from the real situations :)

auntbear, Aerin is so cute, I love her hair color!

bajib, she look like she's going to say "Is there anybody to play with me? Come on, let's build the snow fortress!"

Zardi, Bessie look very natural with this faceup! Do Genevieve glad to have a friend?

And there are somebody want to say hello! I think of the name "Fleur" for her...

    17. Welcome to Fleur! That is a lovely name and suits her :)

    18. Thanks for all the suggestions! If it ever stops snowing here I'll get to Michael's so I can fix her eyelashes.

Darlin - I love the nautical pattern on Fleur's dress!

    19. Thank you! Genevieve is enjoying having a friend around. They are both excited for Byuri to arrive as well ;) Fleur is so cute. I love that wig on her.

      Thank you!

She looks very cute despite her disobedience ;)

    20. Sure enjoy seeing all the darling BIDs. Cordelia wanted to say, hi!
She sure misses her friends. She as the last BJD in my collection and I just could not part with her. :love

Iplehouse Naias by LaurieESW, on Flickr

    21. omg I can't believe I missed these when you posted! And I still think she reminds me of S.T. ^^ she is adorable! and the lollipops I recall best are the giant cardboard ones that made an entry way for my little friend's dance routine ^^

    22. I wondered why you hadn't commented, as I believe it was your idea in the first place. :) I'm getting used to seeing Ringo in that wig. I don't know that she will want to surrender it when Naias arrives (I'm picking her up at the PO tomorrow--poor thing has been there 2 days) but I really want to see Naias in Shirley Temple curls.

I still can't believe Iplehouse is discontinuing the Ringo sculpt. I get repeated requests from someone in my doll group to bring her to meet-ups. How can they think she's unpopular? I've ordered Ringo as a boy, too. Just because.

    23. Ringo has a very distinctive expression that does not have a very wide range of use... I think the dolls (any size) that have a sculpt that can be photographed showing wider emotional ranges become more popular so they sell better. And lets be fair... it's not possible for a company to make every mold they create forever AND keep adding new ones... eventually it comes time to make room for new stuff. And saddly the first to go is always a lower seller. Spent 15 years trying to keep up (as a seller) with having display models of the 'current' color trends in Tupperware >< god what a pain. And trust me the stockpile of just 'color' samples was .... ya I 'give' it away now to make room (for dolls now not more t-ware) ;p.

As for missing the posts? I am almost posotive some ppls posts end up displaying 'late'... I'd seen the pic just before yours and the 'text' replies and the mod shutting down the thread but you post was not there when I looked O_o. So I hadn't even know you posted in the last thread (that's my fave pic of the 2 btw lol). And then the new thread (when I checked) still only had the 1st mod post ><... I forget you don't get auto subscribed to the new thread and hadn't checked the 'new thread/posts' for a while and then there it was lol. my subscription list has about 100 so far and that's after a big clean out lol... :sweat And I'll be honest, I was pre occupied with my Enyu and his new outfit and 'tracking' my giant centaur ><... lol...:sweat

    24. She's adorable. :) Was it you who used to have a LB Byuri?

    25. Yes, and I miss her a lot. I am considering another.

    26. the lb skin is such a pretty color, i think it is one of my favorite skin tones!

    27. Hello! Just joining this thread because I have a PG Byuri on layaway. :) He will be two of my characters' son.

I'm also debating whether I should order Ringo...that pouty little face is just adorable! And if I do, I can't decide whether to get a boy or girl. And then I can't decide what skin tone. And then I can't decide whether I want him/her to look angry or sad.

      What do you think?

    28. I say go for it with Ringo since the sculpt is being discontinued. The boy and girl bodies look pretty much identical other than one area, so you can always turn a girl into a boy, and vice versa.

Yes, that's the little girl I remember :)

    29. Yes, if you are thinking of a Ringo, I would order this month. Aren't they still available in March, but only under Doll Choice? I guess the first decision is body color. Do you have a favorite or a couple of skintones you are undecided between?

If you are undecided on the face-up at the time of order, you could get Ringo blank. Or pick one and if you do not like it, that is an easy enough change. The boy/girl decision, I've heard of some who get a generic face-up because they want both (a boy and girl) but only have funds for one doll. Then they dress the doll as suits them at the time, sometimes a boy, sometimes a girl. Unless you really want a boy, girls seem more popular and probably easier to re-sell, if you should ever decide to rehome. I have owned a boy Serca and thought he was really cute.

Or another option, get one of each. A boy and girl, then one could be sad and the other angry. Plus with two you could choose two skintone colors. LOL, sorry probably not much help. Good luck with your decision process.

I agree, LB is so warm and pretty. I really like it and peach gold. I have a difficult time deciding which I like best of those two. To me they have such a pretty depth of tone.

    30. when i can't decide if i want a boy or a girl i go for the girl since girls can wear girls or boys clothes, but i feel odd about dressing a boy in girls clothes. weird i know but that is me and it seems a fair number of people feel the same. which may be why it is easier to sell a girl than a boy later?

    31. Chizzie_shark, if you can afford two, get both a boy and a girl. If only one, I agree with auntbear that it's easier to pass off a girl as a boy than vice versa. A boy in girl's clothing makes me feel odd, too.

That said, I couldn't make up my mind whether to debut BID Naias by herself or with Maddie (Ringo). I finally decided that Maddie has had two recent photos, so Naias deserves one of her own. She is wearing the Shirley Temple wig (and Maddie is off pouting in the corner because I made her take it off) and her little frog shoes (aka Crocs) made by Denis Bastien (except they don't show in this photo). I'm torn between two names for her: Daphne or Josie. I'm waiting for her to choose one.

    32. omg ^^ too cute... Maddie/Ringo would prolly look adorable in a brunette 'Temple' wig ^^ As for a name why not both? "Daphne Josefina" then she can go by what ever 'nickname' suits her mood ^^... I'm all for double naming so they can exhibit more personalities ^^

    33. She is so cute! Love this wig on her.

    34. Thanks for the input everyone - I'm thinking a NS Ringo girl with red hair and freckles, Anne of Green Gables style (but naughtier!). The only biggest hurdle now is to decide whether I should buy her at all, haha!

    35. Oh I love your Temple wig, it really suits her look.

    36. she looks so sweet. naias is one of my favorite sculpts. i wish they would make it a basic instead of only cds

    37. I also wish they would make the Naias sculpt a basic, but she came out as an Elemental Guardian and they are not supposed to go basic. Not that Iplehouse has kept to that rule when it comes to The Addiction series. As for giving her two names, I have trouble remembering one name, so two is out of the question.

And because I couldn't resist another photo:

    38. yeah, i was lucky enough to get erzulie a year ago when they had their cds for basic price sale, but couldn't swing a naias at the same time. i just like to use their layaway which you can't do with cds

    39. I splurged last year and got both Erzulie and Naias when they had them for the basic price-love them both.

    40. Anyone have any more pictures of Ringo? I'm struggling to decide if I should order him or not, before time runs out.

    41. Ditto that request!

    42. I'm afraid people will get tired of mine, but since no one else has come forward, here is Maddie at a Halloween meet-up. She was not at all happy at having to dress up like a pumpkin.

    43. Your Ringo is beautiful.

    44. Oh, Graham is sweet! I haven't seen an ebony Ringo before. Did Iplehouse do the faceup, DancingBee, or did you send him out?

    45. Thank you!
Yes, he has the default girl faceup, but a boy body. I liked the girl faceup better. This was before they changed the faceups though.

    46. Well, who ordered Ringo? I finally did at the last minute ! I ordered a girl in Real Skin with Makeup Type A. I was afraid I'd regret it if I didn't order this little character.

    47. Good for you! Is she your first Ringo?

I finally decided not to order. If I had, I would have ordered a girl version in RS, even though I would have used "him" as a boy. In the end I just figured that expression would be too restrictive for photos - even though he made me smile every time I saw him/her. I have a granddaughter who always pulls that same pout when she doesn't get her own way - which is quite often. If I had a Ringo girl I'd be so tempted to name her 'Natty', but my granddaughter and her Mom frequent my website, so that wouldn't go over very well. Better just leave that temptation alone.

    48. Martha, I had to giggle a little at your reasoning for not ordering Ringo, and I think you're probably wise. The main reason it took me a while to decide was one of your reasons you DID NOT order - too photo restrictive. But I think it will be fun to use poor Ringo in some expressive shots, though I'm not sure about the wisdom of using her to model my sewn clothing offerings ! ; ) Yes, this will be my FIRST Ringo.

    49. I can think of some cute or humorous photo ideas involving a Ringo too, but to always have that frowny face in the background at fun parties and other adventures? I don't know. Wish he came with a second more neutral faceplate so he could at least enjoy some things. Yet, I keep checking to see if he's been taken off the IH site, and he's still there.

I don't see why you couldn't use Ringo along with another girl to model your clothes. Maybe she will look so endearing it won't matter. I can just picture Ringo and someone else in the exact same outfits, with the other girl proudly posing in front of the mirror, and Ringo upset because someone else is wearing "her" dress.

    50. Well, so much for trying to talk myself out of it! My husband caught me looking at Ringo yet again, and offered to buy him for my birthday...so....I ordered him blank in RS, but with a girl body, as those solid little man parts just get in the way with clothing. I also got some holdy hands and a pair of jeans. Paid in full, and the transaction went through, so hopefully I wasn't too late. He'll be my first boy BID, and he's obviously going to be one cranky little party-pooper. Could be fun!!

    51. Awww.... CONGRATS, Martha ! And happy birthday ! Our birthdays are close together; mine is the 5th. Without a doubt, you'll put together some wonderful photos of your little Ringo in various situations. I got one of the 'fisted' pair of hands, as they will be important for some shots. ; )

    52. Congratulations on your coming birthday! Mine isn't until the end of April, in another 7 weeks - at about the time most doll orders from Iplehouse tend to arrive, so maybe he really will be a "birthday doll". I figured the fists would be too limiting, so got the "holdy" hands, as from the right angle they can look like fists too, and my Ringo is definitely going to need to be able to hold things. I can picture all kinds of photo opportunities, but just hope all my sweet girls don't end up being mean little pests. I know from experience (three young granddaughters close in age) that when one little kid is prone to pout and be stubborn unless they get their way, it brings out the worst in the others who just can't resist taunting her. I guess a lot will depend on Ringo's face up, whether he looks sad or mad, or just forlorn. Maybe there's angles he won't look nearly so depressed - other than from the back.

    53. have you considered trying to get the head of another doll in the same skin tone and do it up with a matching faceup to use as the other expression? when i look at the faces bordy looks really close except for the pout, but efreet or even erzulie might work. you could try posting a wtb thread and see if someone had a head they were willing to sell separately? too bad iplehouse doesnt sell the heads alone any more.

    54. Good suggestion, but I'm really not into "floating heads" anymore. Tried it once and it's just too creepy for me. Ended up getting the second head a body after all. Maybe that cute pouty face has more possibilities than I've thought of so far.

    55. After a week of struggling to re-glue her eyelashes on, I wanted to introduce my newest girl, Su Jin (Addiction Byuri PG)! Her hair is gigantic and it's snowing so the lighting is off, but she's gorgeous in person! I think Addiction is the perfect name for an IH series because their dolls are SO ADDICTIVE! I'm planning to order a Serca in April and she'll be my FIFTH BID!

    56. Congratulations! She's beautiful! But then I totally LOVE Byuri! And yes, IH dolls are totally addictive. I just ordered my sixth BID. Serca is a beauty too, and I don't have her either - yet.

    57. Much to Summer's (Naias) delight, my Elin just arrived yesterday. They became fast friends especially Summer has been lonely being the only BID in the house. Here is a photo from their first photo shoot together.

    58. is that the default wig for elin? it is really cool with all those colors. ( though i have to admit to having a soft spot for summer, who has the same hair and skin tone as my erzulie aerin ;))
