Immortality of Soul has created a 40cm version of their 70cm dolls, the UNITOT line! The mature-mini version of Sezz is available now, with others to come in the future. IoS also carries clothes, wigs, and eyes that were specifically made for these dolls. 'Normal' and white skin are currently available, and theoretically the soft brown color will be coming soon as well. There is also a limited version of Sezz with a faceup done by Nuit. UNITOT on IoS's own website: Unitot - Unitot UNITOT Sezz on Dolkus: [Limited Time & Quantity] [UNITOT] SEZZ | Dolk Station - Online bjd shop
On a more personal note: I do like a good small-headed mature mini, and I'm also very fond of IoS' head sculpts and body engineering. (Good hands and feet. GOOD.) Also, after the minor headache of trying to get items to fit a Fairyland Chicline boy, I am so glad that UNITOT has nice short wigs and decent casual clothes available right away. Having said that, though, I'm still waffling on this one. If I do get a UNITOT, I'll probably wait to see what the tan skin option looks like, and if that also means I get a choice of head sculpts, well, so much the better. Still, I was enthusiastic about this new boy, so I wanted there to be a thread for them!
I am in the same boat. I have a 70 cm Anima/Tauros and I just love IOS sculpting in the body and the head. I am not interested in Sezz but I could easy convince myself to order one of the Unitots in the future when more head sculpts and tan skin is made available!
XD I on the other hand have been eyeing the Sezz sculpt for years, but never brought him home, cause I prefer the MSD size (still have a few SD13s, but those are special), and I just happened to be looking for a short MSD boy that could work as a younger to my Conarium Wuhan (who has a small 6-ish head) so this Sezz in Unitot size seemed like a wink of destiny XD So whenever he's done and home, I'll happily report my experiences XD
I have always liked their SD sculpts, but like others I prefer MSD and smaller. I have never dealt with IOS before. Will Sezz be in some peoples' hands soon? I kind of like the new Asyd. I want to see owner photos and opinions first though.
I was just coming over here to mention that Asyd was available! Also more clothing, more eyes, and more wigs, too, including one that is actually swept back, be still my heart~ No tan skin yet, though. Oh, well.
I can contribute some owner pics soon of Sezz. He got shipped out yesterday and boy is he in hurry to come home. If I read the tracking right, he's already in his second flight and on direct route to me. Now only need to cross fingers customs won't hold him up too long Really excited how he looks, feels and works with 'the crew' XD
@Gallye Same! If you have any particular doll company or size you'd like to see, let me know. Can't promise I got exactly that, but probably should find something close enough to resemble that for size comparisson.
Oh yay! Good news! I'm always hoping certain SDs get made into smaller forms as I'd love them in every size. Soom made one of my favorites an id51 now Sezz
Hoped to show the first guy off this weekend but unfortunately he only arrived in my country yesterday and went straight to customs. Here's hoping that they won't hold him for too long, so I can share pics next weekend. Anyone else ordered an Unitot and got a shipping note?
Back with the promised pics as he arrived today. Here are some front, side and back pics: Login • Instagram And here is a size comparison with various MSD dolls plus a tiny: Login • Instagram Hope to see some more boys coming in and who his companions will be
Ooh, noice! Thanks for the pictures, @Snowy - they really help me to imagine these guys. I keep wondering if I want to add one to the shelf with my Chiclines. I think the UNITOTs have bigger heads, comparatively, so it might look a little odd.
@Gallye What company is the chickine from? If it’s the DollShe one their heads are really tiny in general. I think he‘d work great with most MDFs by Luts. Alec, Silver and similar especially as they have similar head sizes. Overall it will be tricky if one minds differences in head size. I‘m not that uncomfortable usually but I believe he‘ll for example only look good with more realistic ones. The left side in my group pics with the exception of my orc won’t work at all in my opinion. At least not for me. Fir my original plan to combine him as a teen with the Conarium group - especially Wuhan - he‘ll work perfectly.
@Snowy They're by Fairyland - basically Minifee-sized bodies with smaller heads. More like fashion dolls than anything else. Sounds like it miiiiight work...
@Gallye Oh. I‘ve only heard of those and thought they were the same just on a smaller body. But if the heads are smaller it could work I suppose, at least with the less anime-like faces. Fashion dolls in general might be something to check out. The ‚shrinked‘ Granado ones could also work? I don’t know their head circumference.
Returning with a pic of a dressed up Sezz (no face-up yet, cause lazy/bad weather) IoS Sezz Unitot by Wildcard_Snowy, on Flickr Getting there
And now there's a special release of Sezz in the soft brown skin! That's what I'd been waiting for, so now I have to give this some thought. Oh, dear.
I'm curious because I'm considering getting one of these guys someday - has anyone gotten any pics of what unitot sizes look like next to a dollshe 18m fashion boy, the 44cm size? I would love to see if they might look proportional together!
I just ordered Asyd! I really like the small headed dolls with realistic proportions so I have been drooling over these guys!
I’m wondering besides official Unitot clothing, can they fit anything else? What else can they wear? I recently got a Unitot Sezz. For any other owners, did you find yours kicky with CrazyLegs? I’d straighten his legs out and they’d snap into some weird knee-folded position. I’ll be visiting a friend near the end of the month and we’ll be attempting to restring him. I’ll take copious photos and give thoughts on the restringing process. I actually have already tried to restring him once but my pictures are poor lighting and quality. I’ll warn you this. The hole/channels in the leg parts for the elastic are only about as wide as a single piece of elastic going through, and yet they folded the elastic in half so two portions of elastic side-by-side are pulled through there. The elastic, folded, gets stuck in each channel and you have to pull it out with brute force! No stringing tool can fit down in. In the Unitot doll box, there was a small ziplock baggy with golden thread inside. I couldn’t figure out what it was for, then it hit me; what if it’s the only thing you can use to help you pull the elastic through all the parts?! That’s what I ended up using, that golden thread. Other owners, have you investigated the inside of your Unitot? What did you think? If you haven’t, you should.
I recently ordered Asyd but don't expect him for a while. What size elastic did they use? Could you use smaller elastic?
That’s what me and a friend are thinking, use a smaller elastic. She has some for us to try out and I’ll report my findings here.
I don't have a UNITOT (yet) but the various websites tell me that their body measurements are almost identical to the Fairyland Chicline boy, which means that they are somewhat close to the Fairyland Minifee boy. They can therefore most likely wear clothing and shoes meant for Minifee boys, unless that clothing is super tight or super loose. Additionally, this means that they are able to wear clothing and shoes made for Tonner dolls like Matt O'Neill. This doesn't extend to wigs - the UNITOT takes a 6-inch wig, which is larger than most mature minis and smaller than the Minifee.
Ooh, the new skull headed dolls in this range! I've been eyeballing the preview pictures of the cat skull since they came out last year as I have a cat skeleton character I want to shell. I was expecting it to be for the lager sized doll like the other skull heads so it's nice surprise it's on their new smaller range as I prefer YOSD/ MSD size. The only downside is that it's a shame they're not selling the skull head separately or have a female Unitot body as my character is female. Haha, it's alway a pain when the perfect head comes along but the body isn't right
welp. fab skull heads being sold separately of body, i'm lost again in a sea of resin... it's Capris for me.... if they make him in 1/3+ i'll pass out in happiness.... and then he will already have a mini-me @Epicari - Catis is so beautiful too, did you decide about her?
i'm glad one of the skull heads might work for you too For some reason I thought they had the goat skull in their class 70 line but I think I was mentally muddling it up with the bull one Honestly I was thinking i'd have to pass on Catis due to the unexpectedly high pricing and body issue but now IoS has decided to sell the skulls separately then I'll definitely be getting one
I am wondering this as well!! It would be great if Unitot fit in with them even a bit-my aGatti boys are just under 6in. and look okay with Dollshe Fashion. I'm wondering if they just rounded up when stating the head size. Could someone measure, please? I had asked on their Insta before release if they would sell the skull heads separately and they said no, but I am glad they changed that! I really like the deer skull.
I restrung my Unitot with thinner stringing and boy did it make a difference! He's much more natural in moving and posing and it's not the pain it was to pull a joint apart and see the string not go back in. I highly recommend you restring your Unitots with thinner string. It worked a treat!
Curious how they look next to an Iplehouse FID myself. Does anyone here know? Would they fit the clothes for FIDs?
Not remotely. I also have an FID and a Unitot. They look like big brother to little brother or uncle to nephew, in size difference. The FID clothes would swallow a Unitot, and not in the cute "tee-hee, I'm wearing my boyfriend's clothes!" way. I'll do some FID clothing swap photos to show how they fit. Even some MSD clothing is still too big for Unitot, and not in a flattering or boyfriend-wear way.
I'm still interested in more comparison photos, such as Unitot next to FID or Raccoondoll or SartoriaJ
If you can wait until August 17th, I might be able to provide all those comparisons, as I own an FID and a friend of mine owns a Raccoon Doll, FID, and also possibly a SartoriaJ!
I finally decided on a body for my Catis skull and settled on a Charm Doll body. It's finally arrived so i'm one step closer to shelling my anthro skelly-kitty! I also have an old pair of DC jointed hands and tried one on. It seems to fit okay so my plan is to paint them to look skeletal to match the head. The planned outfit will cover a lot of the body so the hands are going to be the main things visible
I keep going back and looking at the Artis head now that they are available again. I don't have a character in mind for it though, I just think it's cool and would be fun to paint. That is often my downfall in this hobby. lol
@redmaiko It's the 70cm heads that are available now. I do have a Unitot Sezz and Capris skull that need to be painted. Would they be fun to paint?
@nancy_schroeder_ca Oh yes!! So many creative opportunities! The Unitot skulls are also available. I think I need to do a photoshop mockup of what it would look like with my other msds-see if it would work better with my minifees or mature msds.
Hope to see some of the comparison photos myself. Sezz has been a want but I'm not exactly sure how he'd fit in.
Could someone who owns the Unitot body provide a shoulder measurement for it? I'm considering trying to hybrid the Artis head onto Resinsoul's Ming body, and I was told I should try to get Unitot shoulder measurements to see if it'd work.
A new UNITOT boy has dropped: Shadow! Also all the other UNITOTS are currently marked as being available to buy! I don't know if that part is true, but I think I may try placing an order and see. I've been kicking myself for missing Sezz for months now.
I notice that the skull heads also went up in price; glad I was able to order mine when I did. Hopefully, if these are being opened up again, it means the November orders are shipping soon.
I'm excited there is another Unitot as well! Maybe more people will get one and post pictures. Lol I have a hard time deciding sometimes just based on company pictures.
I placed an order for Sezz in the soft brown skin and it went through just fine! Assuming I don't get an apology and a refund in the next couple of days, I'm finally getting a UNITOT, hooray! I also ordered an outfit and a wig to come with him. Good things to have, and also I can wave them at my Chiclines and see if anything fits.
Does anyone with a Unitot body have any of these fashion sized boys to do a photo reference? I know his neck is much smaller, but am having the worst time visualizing if he is that much more petite than especially the Dollshe fashion sized boy to be possibly in scale as say, a shorter person? am also interested in shoulder width, i'm guessing based on his chest it might be 10 or 10.5 across? Dollshe 18M series 44M fashion Menagerie boy with body 1(41.5cm H) or 2 (43.5cm H) PashaPasha fashion XY boy thanks so much if anyone has time
My Unitot Artis Deer skull has shipped! I am checking the tracking a little too often. The last scan was on the fourth in Seoul, so it's gotta change soon. LOL Pretty sure I will make the antlers look like an antiqued silver...we shall see what strikes me when it arrives. Creepy elegance is the way to go, I think!
Mine was the same until I checked just now-marked as 'departure from the airport.' I'll bet both our boys are on the same flight.
Skelfthyrnir's head has arrived, and it is glorious. And surprisingly lightweight! skull by Cryptic Cryptid, on Flickr Unfortunately, it turns out that the S hook on the Resinsoul body is too wide for his skull and too tough to bend, so to the hardware store I go tomorrow.
I'm officially the proud owner of an Unitot Sezz!! I love him! His posing is amazing - there are lots of catches and things to help him hold positions, but at the same time he is flexible and easy to reposition! His face is much less morose than I expected, I guess his company faceup just gave me sad vibes, but blank his face is very neutral. I collect mostly fashion scale msd like FID and Raccoondoll and SartoriaJ and he is quite short by comparison. He strikes me as an 11 or 12 year old next to adults, which suits me just fine. I also compared him to a couple of hybrids I have - a dsdoll ghost / withdoll, and a dsdoll dog /luts model delf. Again be is quite short, but the head and eye size are nearly the same. The model delf body appears very stout, almost fat, next to Sezz and withdoll! I'm very happy with the variety he adds to my group. I had considered maybe he would take the place of one of the hybrid dolls, but they are all so different! Pictures on my Instagram Nessa Gal on Instagram: "Hello Adventurer! I got a second hand Immortality of Soul Unitot Sezz in the mail today! He is wonderful, his posing is just perfect. He is engineered really well, all his joints hold well, but aren't difficult to reposition either. Compared to my fashion scale gang, he appears to be an adolescent, maybe 11 or 12 years old. I compared him to my other men/boys. Link and Sezz together make Roderic (dsdoll dog) look like a boy who likes to eat and eat well haha. They each have very similar head and eye size so thats nice. I imagine Link and Roderic as shorter men, Link is a teen and Roderic is just a shorter young man, maybe just a little older than Link. I can't help it if Geralt (SartoriaJ Dominic) is a flipping giant by comparison! #iosunitotsezz #unitotsezz #iosunitot #bjdcomparison #oldbjd #bjdrpg #somniacrawlerdollnara #sartoriajluthien #sartoriajelfdominic #dsdoll #dsdolldog #dsdollghost #withdoll #lutsmodeldelf #bjdmsd"
Oh, my! Thank you for the pictures, @skyealloway - I always love to see comparison shots! Congratulations on your acquisition.
Finished painting Skelf up! Eye by Cryptic Cryptid, on Flickr I mostly used Citadel's contrast paint and a wash for him, and it turned out great. Only bad part is now I wonder if more 1/4 scale skulls will get released.
That's a cool overall effect you managed to get! Love the painted eye... It looks like a light far far away. I have a question, since I'm struggling with the horns of my boy. The resin feels a lot different than that of the head, and my pastels have trouble sticking to it. How did you manage to get such a nice pair of antlers?
I alternated with coats of Citadel contrast Skeleton Horde and the Nuln Oil shade, using the most around the base and using less (or none) towards the tips. Then I drybrushed and streaked a very small amount of light grey onto the the most textured parts and parts of the tines, and then finished up with a very light drybrush of white, mostly around the ends of the frontmost tines.
Thank you so much for the process explanation! I'll try to get my hand on those paints and give the antlers another go.
