Introduction - Hello!

Apr 17, 2023

    1. Hi there!!

My name's lullanix, and I'm from the midwestern USA. BJDs are a very new hobby of mine, but I've been familiar with custom dolls through some friends of mine for quite a while. They mostly worked with fashion dolls, though. This is the first time I've gotten into the hobby myself. In March of this year, I did a lot of research on the different brands and purchased my very first BJD - a MiniFee. Fairyland's sculpts were the first to really catch my eye, and I fell in love with their aesthetic right away.

This is Constance, and I absolutely adore her. She is a MiniFee Hwayu Vampire Elf sleeping head from the 2018 Halloween event. She was modded by @daltokki._ on Instagram in, and her faceup was done by @talesfromtheshrike on Instagram. It has a couple of imperfections, but it's still gorgeous regardless. Her body is an Active Line large bust with cutie legs in natural skin, and it was from the MiniFee Miwa Alice 2021 Halloween event. I bought both the body and the head as well as the certificates of authenticity (both FairyLand and Denver Doll Emporium) from @summercourtcreations on Instagram.

Her wig in this picture is from Jamie's BJD Prop Shop on Etsy, and it is the "JR-190." It's a size 6-7. Her eyes are the "red hell-fire resin eyes" from Chronic Art Dolls on Etsy. They are 14mm. In total, I've invested just over $430 on Constance, and while that seems like a LOT, I don't have a single regret!

Aside from buying a BJD, I've also recently started sculpting my own doll head out of paper clay and sewing slim MSD 1/4 scale-sized clothes with a sewing machine that I hadn't touched in several years before this. The dress Constance is wearing in the picture is one I sewed by following a free sundress pattern on Ithiliear's website. I also plan on receiving a LOT of old Monster High dolls from a family friend's old childhood collection in late May to practice my first faceups on. I can't wait to try it out!

BJDs have brought tons of excitement into my life this year and have given me a wonderful new creative outlet as well as a community that seems to be full of kind, passionate, creative people. I can't wait to see where this hobby takes me.
