INTERPARCEL REVIEW: Right, not sure if I'm allowed to do this but it IS a shipping related thing. Anyway, I've decided to write a review for those who are slightly unsure about Interparcel, like I was when I was first introduced to them. Right. I have to say that my experience with Interparcel has been nothing but excellent. I was able to do everything online and the best thing was that they offered paypal as a payment option, which meant that I didn't have to transfer money into my bank All the infomation was emailed to me, which included: shipping confirmation, tracking number, shipping label and any additional infomation. I arranged for my parcel to be collected the next day between 12:00 and 5:00 and the man arrived at 11:50. When I mentioned that he was early, he told me that he isn't given a specific time (he has 00:00-00:00). I affixed all the labels and asked whether he wanted to inspect my parcel, which he asked what was inside and I told him it was a doll. He didn't look inside. I taped it back up, gave it to him, and away it went. I followed his journey from England to Finland, which was smooth, and he arrived at his new home today (was supposed to have been yesterday but buyer was unable to sign). So, I posted on 11/03 and he arrived 17/03 - 6 days So, I would recomend Interparcel for anyone who wants a cheaper alternative to Royal Mail/Parcelforce. Hope this helps and I'd like to thank everyone who answered all my questions - ORIGINAL CONTENT: Hey all I'm selling my SSDF and his body is off to Finland. I've weighed him up at it's over the 2kg by 0.3 (darn it), which means that airsure is outta the question. Doing a search, I've found that Interparcel is rather cheap but I've a few questions: Are they reliable? Do they have to check the parcel before sending? I've just done the quote to find the price and they have 2kg weight and the next is 3kg. Do they have anything in the middle because it's not that much over 2kg thb. Are there any other decent companies to use? I've never actually used anything other than Royal Mail Sorry for the newbish questions
Is there any extra's in the box, like packing? Maybe if you remove it it'll come down? I'm sorry, I don't have much else to help you with, other than to bring down the costs a little.
The only things included are the body parts, individually bubble wrapped, the manual and strings. no extra padding or anything. The only thing I could get rid of is the bubble wrap, which is needed to protect the doll.
Could bubblewrap like feet together...but I doubt that'll help. You can take it to the PO and ask them for a quote for Airsure, and see if it'll go through since it's just .03 over.
I'm interested in hearing more about Interparcel myself, since the costs of using Parcelforce and Royal Mail can be extremely high and I don't want to put off buyers by having to also charge ridiculous prices for shipping.
I have nothing but good to report about Interparcel... I used them when I was selling a load of dolls and will now only use them for sending SDs abroad. I left the parcel open the first time I used them and was told to just seal it up the next time. But I did double check each time. They always arrive in the allotted time, and the parcels arrived in really good time to their destinations. And they were much cheaper... Alicex
I returned 2 dolls to Ireland with InterParcel. The box was about 70x30x30cm, and included clothes, wigs and shoes. I think it weighed 4-5kgs , iirc. Costed about £35 and got there within 3-4 days I think They did tell me to leave the box open , and the man just opened the lid(didn't look under the many layers of bubble wrap ) and said "OK" and I taped it over.
It's ridiculous how much PF charge. When I did the quote for the first time I literally cringed when it came up for £57+. If I convert that into dollars it's $86! That certainly is off putting. I've decided to give Interparcel a try and I'll let you know how it went Oh and congrats on becoming a Moderator. All hail the almighty Moderators Thanks. This has given me alot of reasurance in using them. I've heard nothing but good things about this company, but then someone usually comes in with a negative comment that makes me wonder lol. Thanks again I wonder what would have happened if he did look under the bubble wrap and saw a naked dolly staring at him Also £35 is so much nicer than Parcelforce's £57 thanks
