Has anyone ever used this Instamold? http://www.createforless.com/p-images/2/2008/0228/138182-2-1.jpg I used it once to try and make a mold of a wildcat skull. I found it a pain to try and mix together, that it found a way to creep INTO hotglue, and had a weird slimy layer that wouldn't scrub off after set for the amount of time on the box (I think it was an hour I let it sit for.) So I continued to follow the directions; I patted it down with a towel to "dry" it, though the slimy layer stayed anyway, put the mold together, put it into a bag, sucked out the air, and stored in the fridge. The next day, it was warped, hard as a rock, and broke in half. What was I doing wrong?! Anyone used this with success? As it stands, using the whole box to make a mold that didn't work was a waste of money, and I wouldn't suggest this stuff to anyone, for ANYTHING! I was thinking of using it again for making ball joints in mass quantities, but at this point I don't want to see the box ever again.
Thanks for the warning! I think it is just as valuable to have reviews of materials that do not work well, as it is to have reviews of materials that work well. I, for one, will heed your advice, and stay away from it.
I'm glad you found it helpful! I have just a little bit left, so I think I'm going to mix it and try and take pictures to show how it acts. Yes, stay away from it!
