Innocente Seraphim

Jan 24, 2009

    1. Hi, Hi~

We'd like to introduce ourselves and our new event, Innocente Seraphm. A new con for BJD's and Japanese Street Fashion. One of our co-founders is Rillystar, who many of you know. ^_^ Our website is: www.innocenteseraphim.com

If you live in the Northwest and would like to volunteer-our first general meeting is Jan. 31st, 2009 at 11:00am to 1:00pm at the University Heights Community Center in Seattle, Washington.

      Here's the official blurb:
"Innocente Seraphim is a two-day event celebrating modern Asian Ball-Jointed Dolls and Japanese Street Fashion created and produced by Valkyries, LLC. An annual event, it will be held this year at the Westin Bellevue in Bellevue Washington on August 8 and 9, 2009. At "InnoSera" attendees will meet Special Guests and Industry Artisans, attend fashion shows, panels, workshops, tea parties, and find an Exhibitor's Hall filled with booths displaying the latest fashions for both ABJ Dolls and lovers of Japanese Street Fashion including Gothic, Sweet and Elegant Lolita, Visual Kei, and FRUiTs. Best of all, attendees will have an opportunity to meet fellow ABJ doll collectors, costume fans, and designers to celebrate individual designs, dreams, and creative fun."

We hope you all will attend. ^_^

    2. Wow this looks really great!!!We are in Olympia so could likely come and play!!

    3. This sounds really fun! I'll definitely be keeping my eye on the website for more info. on events and exhibitors ;)

    4. Putting it on my calendar!

    5. I'm looking forward to it. Must start sewing ASAP! Maybe I can make something wonderous for the fashion show.

    6. Ohh man! That looks good. But I live in the Northeast. 3=

    7. I'd be very interested in going -- though more for dolls than lolita -- so I'll keep my eye on this thread.:)

    8. there should be plenty of programming for both ;)

If anyone is interested in helping out there's the first general meeting on Saturday or you can email in questions as well :)

    9. I am interested as maybe being a vendor :D I can't wait for more information

    10. was told about this today by a friend at school! im excited i hope ill be able to go :)

    11. MysteryAya - I believe you can request packets for vendors now. There should be a link on the site :) if you can't find it let me know and I can find out for you. Internet is spotty though since I'm in Japan til the end of the month

    12. $50 is a bit much for a two day, brand new con.

    13. Considering they're shooting to have multiple tea parties and a bowling tournament, it seems pretty reasonable to me.

    14. Do you need to pay separate for bowling and tea, though?

    15. No tea and bowling are included in the ticket price. Seating is limited for each event but there should be plenty of other things also going on at the same time as well :)

    16. In my own backyard?! I'm so glad I decided to check this forum...my very first time coming in here. I'm so there. YES!

    17. Oooh this would be nice, is there any place showing how much the rooms would be to book for the weekend? Like is there a con discount? If anyone is coming up from the lowermainland and want some roomies (or people in their car lol) lemme know!

    18. Just check the "location" tab, everything should be under there.

    19. there is a con discount. Normally during peak season at that hotel the rooms can cost over $200. The convention has a special rate of $139 a night. I believe that's for up to 2 or 4 people to the room. I can't recall off the top of my head. Anyone staffing has a special staff rate with the hotel.

I believe there is also some Friday night programming in the works as well so keep an eye out on the site :)

    20. Looks great!! i wish i could go..

    21. I am considering this show as well. I came across the website in a Google search and it looks like a great event is planned. :)

    22. A fellow BJD lover friend of mine and I already have it on our calenders to go--we are sooo there. (and if Dd is good LOL I'll take her too--though I am afraid I have created a juniour BJD monster--she is 11!)

    23. I just saw that the site had been updated a bit.
It all looks really exciting! :whee:
I wanted to ask about the tea parties. It says "there are 3 tea party events"
but "only one ticket per person and you must specify which Tea Party Event you plan to attend."
So you can only go to one of the tea parties?
Also, I know you probably won't know approximate attendance for a while, but I'm concerned since the tea parties are "first come, first served", do you think is the are good chance of getting a ticket?

    24. I'm hoping I'll be able to attend this, but I won't know for sure until closer to the convention dates. I might be in Georgia attending 20 weeks of ICE academy. @_@

    25. Hi Nell,

Great questions and we're really glad to increase excitement for this 1st time convention ^_^.

      Yes.

You're right in that we don't know how many people are attending so it's really a hard to guarantee everyone tickets. I know that we are planning to hand out the tickets on Saturday Morning at the Information booth, but my best guess is those that pre-register would probably have a better chance to get the ticket to the free Tea Parties and other free events. That's because they probably can get in line for the Information Booth instead of being in line to register that Saturday morning.

If our pre-registration attendance increased significantly before the start of the convention, I can't guarantee this, but there might be a possibility to scheduling another free tea party event to accommodate as may people as we can.

      Hope that helps,

      Max

ps: I forgot to mention. We plan to have a separated decorated table in the tea room as an optional place to seat and display your dolls for others to view and possibly take pictures of (if that's okay) while you're having tea and various dessert entrees. It will also be an optional place to protect them from the food and liquids served during the tea party.

    26. It's really a good point and to add to Fizz's response, we are currently running a Pre-Registration special of $40.00 for the 2-day convention right now.

For $40.00 you can do the following: ^_^
      ------------------------------------------------------
      - tea parties (free - no extra charge)
      - loli-bowinig (free - no extra charge)
      - panels and workshops (free)
      - masquerade ball (free and 1st 100 people who walk through to attend the dance get a free hand decorated mask as a keepsake.)
      - runway fashion show (free)
      - Contest(s) you can enter for free and win prizes which will be handed out at the closing ceremonies on Sunday: BJD of the Month contest, Paper Doll design contest, and coming soon which I'll be posting on the website, BJD photography contest as well.
      - plus more to come..

Our events page has more detailed information if anyone's interested: http://www.innocenteseraphim.com/index.php?pid=1400

      Hope this helps ^_^,

    27. Rillystar is completely right, currently if you want a room at the Westin Hotel the current costs is $179.00/per night - $205.00/per night depending on the type of room in this 5 star hotel (Checked with Expedia.com)

The special convention rate is $139.00/night for attendees. This rate will expire by July 18th, 2009 and goes back their regular rate what ever it will be at that time >_<.

If you're interested, you can register online by going to this page: http://www.innocenteseraphim.com/index.php?pid=1200 to get that discounted rate or we have an 1-800 # located also in this link where you can call and use the word "Innocente Seraphim" to receive the discounted hotel rate.

You can specify 2 queen bed or 1 king size bed. There is a limit of up to 4 people per double queen bed size rooms and a limit of 3 people for the 1 king bed size rooms.

    28. For those who are not familiar with Bellevue, Washington:

It's about 9 minute drive across the I-90 bridge from Seattle and about a 15 minutes drive from SeaTac Airport. A good map of the city is located here: http://www.meydenbauer.com/conventions/where-is-bellevue.html

"Bellevue is now one of the state's richest and most successful cities, and serves as a satellite city to Washington's largest metropolis, Seattle. The area is also home to some of Puget Sound's richest residents...

...Bellevue is best known for the trendy shops, upscale restaurants and distinctive department stores that make up its 180-store Bellevue Square. More than 16 million people visit Bellevue Square each year, making it a destination stop in its own right. Nearby top-class hotels and award-winning restaurants complement the the city's prestigious setting."

    29. *dies laughing* I just remembered my boyfriend bought me a bowling ball and bowling shoes a year ago! I haven't bowled in so long but now I have to start practicing again.
Anybody want to come by my work place and practice with me? I can get half off at the bowling lanes.

I hope to drop by the Sakuracon booth to say hi. :D

    30. Please stop by, we'd love to see you!

I haven't bowled in a while myself. Unfortunately I'm in the Olympia area so I have to practice more down South. Oh I was pretty bad myself I think I was so glad I had no gutter balls and I think my personal best score was like er....88? ^_^

    31. Only 100 days until InnoSera..... XD

    32. Only 98 more days until InnoSera! Stay tuned for some upcoming announcements. XD

    33. i hope i can make it. at this point, i'm not sure i'll have the funds :(

    34. Oh, I hope you can make it, Kiyakotari. Bunny.Ren and I are defiantly going and it would be nice if we could carpool with some other Bellingham people. I have to check with Ren about it, though. lol

    35. Really interested in going with some friends. . . hope we don't laughed at for doll and gothic series cosplay. . . *sweatdrop*

    36. Never ^_^.

Heh, currently working in the convention staff and volunteers, I know they would warmly welcome anyone who is into both the communities of BJDs and Gothlic Lolita.

The convention is passionate about supporting those into BJDs and/or japanese street fashion.

Heck I'm loving "Steampunk" lolita lately ^_^. Been thinking of sewing a "steampunk" bishie outfit for my doll and a "Steampunk" lolita outfit for the convention.

    37. Will a list of exhibitors be up soon?

    38. Yep. ^_^ We've been working on our registration page so its super easy now to register. We'll have the sponsor and exhibitor page up in a week or so. We hope to announce some great guests of honor this week too!

    39. just a quick reminder that the $40 pre-registration price ends on the 31st.

I believe there are some fun and exiciting guests to announce pretty soon, but likely not before the $40 price ends.

If you have any q's just poke at me and I'll answer what I can :)

    40. This looks like such a fun even! I'm excited to be able to go to a con so close to home :D
The bowling is a stroke of genius!!

    41. thanks schnitzel!

There should be a few very fun guests coming! Official announcement should be coming soon

    42. Just in case you are in the neighborhoods~ we have a booth at Anime Evolution this coming weekend. Please stop by, say hi, and introduce your dolls to us. ^_^

    43. Curious to see what vendors will be at this show.

    44. Is is still possible to sign up as a volunteer (staff and other), or has that period ended (I couldn't tell from the website)?

    45. Hi Kiyakotari,

We would love to have you join as staff or as a volunteer! We have a couple of staff positions still left open and several volunteer options. It's important to us that staff and volunteers have fun at InnoSera so if you fill out the volunteer application form http://innocenteseraphim.com/index.php?pid=1500#ready , we'll know what areas you're interested in so our volunteer coordinator can give you a couple of volunteer options. =)

    46. Innocente Seraphim Convention is pleased to announce that Ms. Cholong of ElfDoll U.S.A. and PasuLau of Doll Heart will be attending the convention as Guests of Honor. 47. This is so exciting!!! And bad for my wallet XD

    48. I know exactly what you mean....I love DH and Elfdoll >.< my boys have been hankering for new clothing and eventually need another SD girl lol

So exiciting to be able to see everything in person first though!

    49. Mine is the opposite, I need clothes for my girl and possibly an SD sized male mate!!! I wonder if we are allowed to take photos of their dolls? I've never been to a doll meetup let alone a doll convention O.o

    50. Wahoo! Me, Kasa, Fenris and Neko are going!

Question. Will there be a dealers room and will it sell doll things, human things? Or both?

Looking for lolita shoes for a human and also doll clothes of course heh

    51. i wish i could go :( sadly, no money, and it falls on my 25th birthday. i'll try and go next year! have fun everyone!

    52. That sounds interesting...

    53. eva - there will be dealers for both :)

    54. *is contemplating*

    55. Lawls. =)

Just to let everyone know, our special room rate of $139.00 at the Westin Bellevue ends July 18th! The Westin is a 5-star hotel with the largest indoor pool in Washington state. Plus, the Westin is right across Bellevue Square Mall which has tons of brand name shopping and great restaurants. Bellevue is right on Lake Washington, so if you have a significant other who likes to fish, (raises hand), he/she will have a great time at InnoSera, too.

Here is the link for the Westin Bellevue
      http://innocenteseraphim.com/index.php?pid=1200

    56. Only 30 days until InnoSera! We're looking forward to meeting so many bjd fans in person. =) We still have a couple of booths available in our Exhibitors Hall and if you'd like to grab one, please contact [email protected]

    57. I'll most likely be there. :3

Odonata and limu, out of curiousity, do you have a current registered attendance count? I'm wondering what kind of crowd there will be.
I stopped going to Anime Cons when they began to get so crowded that you could barely move through the hall or sales room. -_-

    58. We can't wait to see you!

Since I'm in Programming I don't know the latest numbers but I positive you don't need to worry about crowds and be jammed around. We've arrange the function space to move people from place to place w/o have to hoard the hallways. The dealer's rooms are split into two to help control crowds and hallway hold-ups.

Also I'm excited to say we have two areas that we're setting w/ background accessories, furniture, flowers, etc. for people to place their BJDs on and take their own pictures or make up their own stories w/ these scenes. On set-up will be in the dedicated tea room and the other near our professional photo booth.

So we'll have 2 areas set-up with fun furnature, scenery props, etc for people to pose and take pictures of their BJDs as well as a professional photo booth to take pictures of yourself holding your doll.

      Hope this helps.

    59. FYI , here are some of the current BJD panels schedule for InnoSera 2009

      Doll Furniture
Doll Carriers - making your own
Doll clothing - making your own
