Technique indoor pics dou virus

Mar 25, 2020

    1. from this current situation
      (cant go outside ) :...(

do you guys have any tips/tricks for indoor photography??

    2. Honestly, this is going to sound very obvious, but don't take your pictures with your light source (such as a window) behind your doll. You will never be able to edit the picture to get your light levels for both doll and background satisfactory. I know, I tried it Got what I thought was the perfect photo of my girl, but upon editing either the background looked washed out, or the doll looked too dark. Very frustrating.

Also, I'm not sure what kind of camera you are using, but if you are using your phone camera, there are a lot of apps that will add nice touches to your photos. The ones like Focos that do portrait shots are especially good because you can blur the background for a professional look.

By the way, I have had good luck putting the doll in front of a computer monitor. It doesn't give the same problems as other background light sources. I put a pretty flower wallpaper on the screen, and the photo looked like my doll was in a garden. I have since done pictures that look like my doll is in the Sagrada Familia (gorgeous church!), the Vatican, St. Paul's, in front of the Taj Mahal... you get the idea. It's just something fun to try while you wait out the virus. Plus, you can fool around all day finding good backgrounds, which will give you something to do until you can get out again.

Good luck with your pictures, and stay safe!

    3. Using your computer screen for backgrounds is genius. I love it.
You'll need a bright room though or you'll get a silhouette.

If you're doing more conventional photography here are some other hints.

Plain backgrounds better than fussy ones.

Windows make lovely light sources but you don't want sunlight streaming in.

Have your camera at the same level as the doll.

If you don't have enough light set your camera on a good surface, books
maybe, and use the self timer to trigger it.

Use some props for more complex scenes.

    4. Desk lamps are also a great source of light if you position them carefully. You can tape a sheet of white paper to the lamp to get a soft, diffused effect.
