Omg @cthulhu you took "another level of work" to yet another level here. I'm awestruck really. I'm so glad you shared this project with us. EDIT: My husband is into model making and terrain building - and he's the painter of the house. I just showed him your work cause I couldn't *not* and he's SUPER impressed at the final result as well. Really cool to band together with your "creative soul" sister to get the final details so totally just right.
Teddy, I'm glad you cheered me on to the end. Quiet and Insane, thank you! Maryfairy sent me lots of sculpting tools when I started planning this project. She & ChilmarkGryphon gave me the confidence to give it a go. I'm really glad it worked out for Maryfairy to help with the final finish work on this unexpected detour. Maxxxamillion, thank you!! I hope all the great tips folks shared with me in this journal will be useful when someone else starts an epoxy mod project. All of the wisdom and tips were certainly a big help to me. saraquill, thank you. . I can't believe she's ready for a wardrobe. After studying up on Vastra facts last week, it seems 1884-1898 will be my fashion target. So she will fit right in with my Steampunk werewolf clan... ;}
But I haven't - Yet - there's stil her clothing to go. I'm not going anywhere, however, so I wil be here 'til the end. Teddy
Teddy, . Thanks my friend! Too true, we wouldn't want her to languish poorly dressed after all this bother! XD
I know - I'm being cruel to poor @cthulhu by cracking the whip about the clothing, especially as my own trck record for getting projects finished is so abysmal. Teddy
The completed clothes for Madam Vastra: /threads/study-in-purple-madam-vastra.849772/ And Xara is now properly dressed as the companion. Perhaps not Jenny...but an acceptable variation for me. ;} Unidoll Rio and Sayomi (Supia Rosy) accompany them on the doll shelf while I let ideas percolate. Almost a year long project, and now I can get back to sewing. Cheers everyone.
Thanks FastFeet! It's been a labor of love & daunting challenges. Now they're twiddling their thumbs while the Macchonna kids & winter holidays distract me. ;}
Such a pleasure to follow this journey. Huge round of applause for a job very well done!! Vastra and Xara look lovely together, what a wonderful way to round out this project on a note of triumph. Whatever you work on next I'll be waiting in the wings cheering on
Much thanks Gamine! I think I'll sit back & enjoy your project for a while. Historical sewing will likely sneak in occasionally but the dolls & I are ready for some simpler good ideas.
Wow I am impressed. What a talented person you are. She looks fantastic! โ Cthulhu for President, why choose the lesser evil?โ
@Aichan , XD...more like determined & blessed with friends who shared their knowledge. This mild mannered middled aged house demon is guaranteed to wreak havoc if put in charge of decisions. ;P
Ooh, then I will need to get my act together and post some project updates ASAP!! Thankfully I do have a few bits of progress to share, heehee
