Impulse Buying: The way of the bjd world X3

Sep 12, 2010

1. I did a search and did not find a theard that talks about this. If there is one please move or delete this theard, and tell me where it is. So sorry if there is one...:sorry

Ok, today I was looking at clothes and saw the perfect outfit for a doll I don't even have yet!!!:o:ablink: I had to get this expensive outfit then I found myself buying shoes too because they where just so perfect!!!!*_* It happen so quickly; I just sat there saying, "What just happen!?!?":? I was thinking about not wanting to seriously get another doll till a good bit of months because Sha was ordered recently; and he has not been shipped yet. Now, I want this other bjd for Christmas!!!!:DSo, these are my questions for all of you.

Have you seen a bjd(s) that took you completely by surprise where you buy him/her/them outfits even though you do not have them yet?

Have you seen a bjd outfit that took you by surprise so much that you just had to have it at that moment even though that outfit does not fit bjd(s) your currently own at all? And of course shoes even ones that might not or can fit your doll but there is no way your bjd would wear them? For example, Sha is not into punk at all, (he is more into noblity/princly type styles), and those shoes are completely punk!:kitty1 I would never put those shoes on Sha because they are totally NOT his style at all even though I love punk style tons!!!
Or are there other items that make you click the buy button without a second thought?!:) :D:XD:

I would love to hear your thoughts on this subject!!! :whee:

2. Oh gosh yes, I do this a lot. :sweat Just recently I bought a little Volks YoSD Puff on impulse. He was a limited release and the time-sensitive-ness of his purchase pushed me to buy him, knowing I'd regret it later if I didn't. Plus my boyfriend was over my shoulder being all, "Go for it, sweetie! :D", so I did lol. But there are also times I hesitated on things I thought were impulse buys, which I later realized weren't impulse buys but things I really did want and felt badly when they were sold out because I sat there biting my nails too long trying to decide.

I also tend to buy outfits that are really cutesy because they are just so cute. My dolls style is really frilly and lolita-y, but every now and then these adorable bunny hoodies and other semi-casual things end up in my clothes collection. As well as some bunny boots I found on eBay, though my dolls style is more towards mary-janes than boots. I guess every doll needs a pair of boots, though? ;) Nothing wrong with having enough range of things to have something for every occasion, I tell myself.

3. So very true, when I brought the outfit; it was only one more left!!!!:o Then when I brought the shoes those where the last pair!!!:aeyepop: I totally feel the same about buying it now because when it is sold out you will really regret not buying it when you had the chance! That is so wonderful your boyfriend is so supportive!!!:):dance

4. Lol, the only impulse buy I did wasn't really an impulse buy. ... Guess that makes me a bad doll collector ;p.
I had the money, was about to buy another doll and then Distant Memory announced her pre-order of Peroth. It took me a few days to make up my mind (because usually I don't go for dolls I don't have plans for), then realized that chances were big this guy was going to be very expensive later on. Now, I'm glad I bought him.

Still, it was one time and I don't think I'll ever do it again. Personally, I don't like being impulsive when it comes to money spending. I'm too much of a control freak :sweat.

5. I bought my first doll on impulse. I was looking for a doll to make me want a Ringdoll-doll less, and I saw him, was sold instantly, and bought him the day after without giving it a second thought. I have never once regretted it, though. I'm also occasionally buying outfits and wigs for a doll I'm not ordering until December/January the day I see them because I'm so scared they'll be out of stock before I get my hands on them.

6. I've not yet fallen to impulse, I am proud to say. Honestly, at the moment I am too far in the red to make any impulse purchases. >__< Dolly stuff gets the back burner to bills and whatnot, so I can't really afford to make purchases without a lot of forethought beforehand.

7. Kia herself was an impulse buy...her character was originally supposed to be an elven MSD of some sort, and instead I would up with a little hoofed tiny!
I keep seeing things I want to buy for my next doll Salamander, but manage to hold off--and I'm very glad too, as I've totally changed my mind as to what size body I want her to have.
But impulses...they're hard to keep down.

8. I'm too scrimpy for that. I don't think I've ever bought anything that isn't the style of any of my boys...only if the doll in case was very-very close to being ordered, and I was absolutely sure that I needed that item for them.

I'm not into impulse buying, and usually I don't have money on hand anyway, so if I want something I have to save up for it. This pretty much makes impulse buying impossible

9. The only impulse buys I've had so far are fabric. XD I don't ever really have the money for anything bigger.

10. Yes, yes, YESSSSS. I need to stop browsing the marketplace, it's eviiiiiiiiil. I end up buying stuffs when I didnt want to, that's why I have so many floaty heads. /fails.

And there's the buy it now, or regret it later thing. It's like there's this OOAK doll or shirt or pants or something and it's reasonable priced and if you keep hesitating, when you check back later, it'll be gone! And you'll regret it and call yourself a dummy :B But then if you dont hesistate and buy it right then, you might think, "What have I done? Now that I think about it, I dont need it that much!" Meh. It's a no-win situation! 8D;;

11. I'm an impulse fabric buyer too. I have around 100 meters of fabric lying around to make clothes, and this is no joke. I have garbage bags full of fabric. I also have so much lace, beads and the like I don't know what to do with. All this is for dollies.

12. All of my favorite dolls have been complete 100% impulse buys.
It seems that the ones I agonize over end up out the door in a few months while the ones that end up sticking around are the ones that I am going 'I just bought WHAT? I just spent HOW MUCH?!' about. In an odd way it is more economical for me to follow my impulses about these things.

• x 1
13. I don't think I've ever had an impulse buy, I bought my Puki Pipi pretty 'impulsively' but I'd been wanting one for a while, so when one came up on the MP I scooped her up pretty fast. I think that's the closest to impulse I've had. :)

14. So far I haven't had a really impulsive moment (doll or clothes); I usually think about it for a few days before I go ahead. But yeah, I have recently encountered a situation where I bought a doll outfit even though I do not have them yet. I was considering buying Chiron for some time, just not sure whether to proceed or not (and when to proceed) due to a few reservations I still have, but then I went ahead to buy his outfit set, shoe, eyes, accessories.... and he already has a name and persona ready even though I haven't bought him yet ... *_*

15. LOL I've been guilty of this. Most of the time it ended up poorly though. =o=; I ended up selling the items becuase I'm not good with floating items/heads. I pretty much have to scrape up whatever I can to buy things so unused stuff is vulnerable to becoming sold off.

16. This is why my credit card is tucked away safely when I surf the net. Otherwise I'll get hooked and end up buying a lot of things I shouldn't. D:

17. I just did that last week, bought a Dollmore Mio that I saw in the Marketplace totally on impulse. The minute I saw her I just knew I had to have her even though I'd never seen that sculpt before. And I have to say, she hasn't disappointed me at all. In fact, she's wearing the kimono that I'd also bought on impulse even though none of my dolls wear kimono. She has a rather Oriental look about her so it's perfect for her.

18. Have you seen a bjd(s) that took you completely by surprise where you buy him/her/them outfits even though you do not have them yet?

The only time I buy outfits for a BJD is if the BJD has already been purchased, and even then I try to be careful about what I get them until they arrive because I see no point in buying a bunch of things I could easily make myself/may not fit. I'll buy enough to clothe the doll in their first weeks, but after that most of their stuff fits as it should.

Have you seen a bjd outfit that took you by surprise so much that you just had to have it at that moment even though that outfit does not fit bjd(s) your currently own at all? And of course shoes even ones that might not or can fit your doll but there is no way your bjd would wear them?

I've seen outfits I wouldn't mind having, but if they do not fit the dolls I have or if the dolls I have are not meant to be wearing them, then I will not buy them regardless of how cute or nifty they look. Same with shoes, there's not much use in my house for a pair of shoes nobody can/wants to wear.

Or are there other items that make you click the buy button without a second thought?!

The only things BJD-wise that I'll buy without a second thought are heads/dolls that I have been looking for with intent to buy that have finally shown up on the MP. An example of this would be my Mihael. I'd been looking for a Mihael for a while, considering each mihael as he showed up on the marketplace and calculating its cost to me. Each one had a head price, the wig price, the eye price, the faceup price, and the body price. One finally showed up with the perfect faceup and with an eye mod that I love. Given the quality of the faceup and the condition of the head, I bought it as fast as I was able. The body came up only days later, and I bought that quickly too, though neither could be considered impulse because I had already thought about and planned for both the positive and negative consequences well beforehand.

19. I will definitely do this sometimes, although less so lately. When a Maki Tsuyoshi popped up at retail price at Closet Child, I snapped him up. If you can impulse-put-a-doll-on-layaway, that's what I did with my incoming MNF Kyle. I was going to think it over but then somehow I was clicking the button on the DDE site :sweat.

Outfits I'm less likely to do this with unless I'm at an actual Dolpa and see something on a dealer's table. Usually with outfits you have leeway and/or advanced warning, I find.

20. Despite the size of my collection, perhaps surprisingly, I'm not too much of an "impulse buy" person. I have my own criteria for what constitutes a good deal and what doesn't, so if something is a good deal to my reckoning, it's within my budget, and it's something I want, I consider it a wholly reasonable purchase.

While it's smart to consider what one does with one's money, there's no award for a month of hand-wringing over every $20 item just like there isn't one for buying every $20 item that crosses your path without a whit of discernment. Most people, I suspect, fall somewhere in the middle. I see nothing wrong with 'impulse' purchases once in a while, however -- and whether other people are doing it or not really isn't any of my business, so I'm speaking only for myself here. I figure that if I screw up my finances somehow with such a purchase, that is wholly my fault and my responsibility, the consequences are mine to handle.

21. I'm really not much of an impulse buyer actually, unless whatever I want is limited and / or has some kind of time limit on it. However, even then I probably won't buy it straightaway and I'll still think about it for a few days.

22. Thank you everyone!!! I really did not think I would do a few impulse buys but I am very impressed with Nightfall punk clothing for bjds!:D http://nightfallwalker.web.fc2.com/frame.htm

When I saw this amazing complete punk outfit (very limited:o), I just had to get it!:kitty1 Then on ebay I found shoes that match that outfit perfectly!!! BUY NOW...CLICK!!!:blush Those items really did take me completely by surprise and it was so crazy because a few days before I saw my other dream doll and was totally lost at how I would find him a punk outfit!*_* The site he is on had no clothes and shoes that was not his style at all!:? So, I find that my impulse buy was a really lucky moment for me!
1) That outfit is sold out now.:o 2) The shoes I got were the last pair!:sweat

I know buying everything in sight that you might not need is not good but when you see something rare and is not going to be around for very long that impulse is such a wonderful thing!;):dance:aheartbea

23. I do see a lot of things I like or want, but really try to restrict myself to buying what I can actually use at one time. I don't think I have a problem with impulse buying so much as just a general addiction to online shopping.
If at all possible, I try to buy for new dolls all at once, but I think that's more practical as it can save on shipping. So far as I have prevented myself from buying a new doll, with the reasoning of "OMG at least finish the last doll your purchased first."

24. I wouldn't say I "impulse buy" as much as I'd say I'm able to make good buying decisions very fast. I get an idea in my head (this happened with each of my 7 dolls)...the idea may be very vague, such as, "I need a male doll to tie together the stories of all my girls." Then I start hunting the marketplace and company sites, knowing that when I see it, I'll just know it's the right one. Once I see it there's that "Eureka!" moment...and I purchase it immediately on the spot...no agonizing, no over-thinking. I had a specific goal in mind for my collection and this is how I accomplished it...with the added bonus of obtaining a great diversity of sculpts which really fed into my storyline.:)

25. I don't buy dolls on impulse, don't have the funds to do it, though the right second hand dolly in the MP can really get me dithering. Where I'm really bad is if I'm ordering, say, one pair of shoes, I tend to add things on to the order because I hate paying postage for just one thing. Saw a pair of sneakers for my tiny boy over on MoC, ended up buying five pairs!

26. Yes Korrin, completing your doll is key! It is a wonderful feeling when everything is complete! With me, Sha is complete!:D I ordered his face-up, clothes, and shoes at the same time on the dream of doll website and he comes with eyes and his wig. My other dream doll and his items just took me totally by surprise!!:o When I order him and when he arrives, he will have his complete look as well!:XD: I am all about completing my dolls!:aheartbea:3nodding:

PoeticSoul, I am similar! I don't have a made out storyline. I just know what I am looking for when I see it(different styles of clothes and shoes) and them( my guys)!:aheartbea
I love it when that "Aha!" moment happens and you know this or these dolls are the one or ones!!!!!!:D:whee:

27. That is a very good point Isabeau! The postage is killer!!! Especially when you might only need one thing or a few smaller items like undergarments, wigs, shoes, combs, accessories, etc...*_* Like you buy a few item that come up to $10 but the postage is $25 or up!!!:sweat

28. I am an impulse buyer. I am new to BJDs and have about 7 coming.

Aliza

29. I've been bjd hunting for some time, and I've been resisting the urge to just splurge and get a doll. (And I keep having box opening dreams for dolls and getting uber excited.) So I've been cruising ebay and the marketplace and dropped some money on a whim on a couple auctions. We'll see how they go! *fingers crossed* They aren't my Tania (I keep saying it like that because she's the doll I really want), but they're on my wishlist. ^_^

Once I get more comfortable with the hobby and get a better idea about what fits and what doesn't, that sort of thing, I'll definitely be more impulsive. I'm an impulsive shopper. ^_^

30. Giggle...yes, this wonderful world of bjds will bring out the impulsive shopper!!!:) Congrats on the purchases!!!!! :thumbup:dance

31. Yes I've done this ! On clothes and on my only full SD. I was saving up to get my NNR a body, but then I spotted a B&G Lyall up for sale and although I hadn't actually seen any owner photos of him I had to get him. I'm so glad I did, but I usually don't have the money to :(

32. Most of my dolls have been impulse buys... I tend to fall in love with floating heads, make all the plans, and then fail when it comes to getting them finished. My Unoa, Lati K, Planetdoll, and Bobobie were all impulsive purchases- I spotted them somewhere and combination of great price and great sculpt made me lose my savings completely. Then there's my newest addition who is on layaway. He's extremely limited and also my super duper never in a million years dream doll, so when I spotted him I was sold. Completely, totally, and impulsively. I'm trying to curb my impulses so that I only run off and buy what's actually on my wishlist, otherwise I'll have a whole mess of dolls and none of the ones I really want!

33. I'm actually trying to steer away from impulse buying. I find I enjoy the dolls (and items) I buy much more if I plan them out carefully. There's a lot more regret when I buy anything impulsively because after the fact I start thinking, wait, didn't I need that money for something else? Or I start to feel guilty about spending the money. Then there are times when I find out that what I bought wasn't really what I wanted and of course I end up selling it or not using it.

As for buying clothes before a doll arrives, yes. I have done that before and hopefully I can do it again. I like the idea of having things that I planned out arrive a bit earlier before schedule. It's a convenience and when the doll -also planned- arrives it will have clothes it can use.

34. I started out with one....1...sd, after that I blame doll forums for all my other dolls!
Ok, now I feel better passing the blame on to you guys....hahaha

I started out with a 'wish list' with 4 on DIM site, problem was the ones I really fell for were disappearing so it was the rush to find and buy. Impulsive purchases?? Yep, but only from the MP and after really thinking about it before I hit any buttons.
Did I buy a doll I regret? Nope, they all found there places. My biggest problem turns out to be beds, I must have (for some strange reason) a bed for everyone so at this point I must STOP buying dolls....ok, so I said that before and my friends laugh at me cause I have 3 more coming in!
I LOVE THIS HOBBY!!!!

35. :sweatGuilteeeeeee....

I was much more guilty early on. Now I have too many projects sitting in front of me to spend that much time buying more but yeah. Most of the impulse buys have been the tiny-tinies and fortunately for me, it's been very easy to find homes for them. I don't know why I do that, because ultra-tinies and I just really don't do well together.

36. I'm only guilty of this on one occasion, and it barely counts because I intended to get it anyway. I'd planned to buy an Angelheim Ciel head at some point, but I happened to wander onto their site about a day after I ordered my MNF boy and they were having a great sale! I had clicked "buy" before I even realized what was happening :sweat Since then, though, I've vowed not to impulse buy anything, simply because I do NOT have the money for it. Plus, I'll probably really regret it if I buy anything I don't really need for the dolls...

37. It is hard not to impulse buy since there are so many items that are for a limited time or limited quantity. If you want them, you have to go for it or risk not having it ever. Not always as easy choice. Besides, other than food, there is actually very little that I shop for at all that I really NEED.

38. Like, I do this? But I always stop myself and research it first. Like, if I see a doll and I'm like ^_______> OH MAI GAH I'm like. Wait, be logical. What's he look like irl?
I'm not too grabby about things though- I think I'm blessed in that actually. x3

39. Umm..Not really clothes because I normally make my doll's clothes, but just yesterday I was lollygagging on Ebay and I ran across Hujoo's and when I saw Berry it was love at first sight and I had the money and the Buy It Now button was RIGHT THERE!!! So now I am a "about to be" new owner of a Hujoo haha:sweat

40. My incoming PW Sky had half her wardrobe bought before I even ordered her...... and then some @ this point :sweat

41. If ever I want to buy something on impulse in the dolly world, I always leave the tab open and keep surfing the net for a little while. (At least a few hours, but more often a day or two.) Then I go back to it, and once the glamour of "OH ITS SO PRETTY I WANT IT NOW" has worn off, I find it's much easier to decide if I really want it or not.

Most of the time it works.

Unfortunately with the case of the Soom Epidos, it doesn't work and it turns out that the "OMG ITS SO PRETTY I WANT IT NOW" reoccurs every time I looked at him until I succumbed to it.

42. I generally don't buy things on impulse if they are standard items, but if I see a limited item I really like, and I happen to have the funds available, I'd most certainly pounce on it. XD That's what I did for my IOS Anos head, I learned that he was produced in very limited numbers and he looked like the perfect fit for one of my characters. Never regretted it since. :)

43. Uhm, impulse buys ... xD Well, let's just say I know of those :p

I thought about the first doll, since I wanted to know for sure he was the one I wanted. Then I fell in love with my second. The third made my heart melt and turn to sugar. The forth (head) just passed my life and entered. About the fifth I did some thinking, but no longer than 2 weeks after I had a dream about that one xD

Luckily, I don't fall in love too easy, it was just odd to have that happen so soon after eachother :p

44. I can admit to buying outfits and wigs and such for dolls I do not own yet...
But I usually give myself at least a day to think if I should REALLY buy it or if I can afford to, etc.
My dolls tend to be kind of impulse buys too. XD
Or maybe it just feels that way a lot of the time because recently I keep falling in love with limited dolls.
So I only have a limited time to think weather or not I really want them.
Although in the end I always give myself time to think a little before buying something. Even if its just a day.

45. I have a problem with impulse buying, so I really try to control it.
When I decided I wanted a Pukifee, even though I had the money to buy it, I forced myself to set aside a small portion of savings specifically for the Pukifee.
Especially since the money I already had was dogeared for a wedding and a house purchase. >_<

It's partially a test in will power, and partially a test of "Will I still like it months from now when I can actually pay for it?"
So far this has worked out for me.

46. I need to make a mental note now to never browse around the marketplace when I'm feeling down, ever again... -.- I ended up getting sucked into buying something I never thought I would buy!! Like, this head on my wishlist. I mean I wanted it, but at the same time I wasn't sure what I'd do with it--but I just had to have it. :x God hope I won't regret this.

47. I'm too poor to impulse-buy, lul... >>; But I guess the closest thing was the Neferti I ordered. I was just blown away by the sales pictures, and I had the means to place my order... and I felt like a treat. XD; I haven't regretted it either, even with all the waiting I've been doing. I just wish I could've taken advantage of the body offer, too. I didn't have *quite* enough for that set aside... ;P

48. When you find that special/awesome doll(s) and/or item(s), the impulse is to GET IT NOW OR THIS CHANCE WILL NOT COME AGAIN OR SO EASILY AGAIN:o!!!!!!! Those special dolls/items are something you usually don't regret because they are something you always wanted or dream of having!:D:aheartbea I got one of the items that I did a impulse buy on and I LOVE IT!!!!!!!:D:D:D I AM SUPER HAPPY I GOT IT!!!!:) BJDS ARE THE BEST!!!!!!!:blush:dance:kitty2:sumomo:

49. lol yeah.... that's a little how my first doll is.... I had been making plans for a MiniFee... and earlier this month put a first payment on a 5StarDoll Tong Tong. lol! Part of it was because she was just really gorgeous, I fell in love at first sight, and then the site I got it from was going to put a hold on orders for about a month. When I saw that it kinda helped me push forward to ordering her since I wanted to get the order in before they stopped accepting orders (lol even though I was going to do it in payments so I wouldn't get her til they came back!).

50. Sometimes I sadly succumb to impulse, even though I know I shouldn't :sigh

I wasn't planning on getting another floating head since I was already having a hard time finding bodies for the two that I already have, but then Migidoll just opened her ordering period and I just suddenly had this mad urge to buy one. Originally it was gonna be Miho, but opted for Jina in the end so that it would help even out the number of girls. She's my birthday present to myself (and I figured whatever bday money I get will go towards her body). This impulsive streak certainly put my dolly plans awry since I was saving up and planning to get a different doll entirely.

And then there's Souldoll and their extremely limited outfits. Buying those are certainly impulsive since you never know when they'll become available, and when they do, they're not available for long so if you really want one you really have to spring for it when the chance arises :|

51. I've got to post again, since I can already feel myself about to cave and throw money at something I should NOT be having- still, I just passed my driver's test today, and it's a hugely momentous occasion which merits snagging that head that I'm in love with right? right? ahem. You see my point of course.

52. I know i have been buying so much i have finally slowed down...my first buy was customhouse 2sd dolls well i new i had a long wait so i shopped for cheaper dolls just so i could have one in my hand....then i went crazy. Now i have 4 msd and 2sd and i still do not have the first dolls i ordered in feb. I still want more but after i had my ringdoll rebecca home i didn't like her.so i'm not sure what i'm going to do but know i know to slow down and don't buy everything i see.

53. LOL I didn't buy a lot of stuff right after I orded my Doll despite other people saying "only buy the clothes after you have the doll with you" since he's height was little odd but hey turns out everything works just fine xD
I guess I didn't learn my lesson there yet...I might do it again when I have the chance xDD|||||

54. I am the Queen of Impluse buying
Unfortunately I know my credit card number and details off my heart!

55. I used to be more of an impulse doll buyer, but I have gotten much better at getting past the initial "Ah, its gorgeous and limited/on sale, I need to buy it now!" reaction. I wait and think it over, and try to put the doll out of my mind, and if I still keep going back to that doll after a few weeks then I seriously consider actually buying it. But once I've decided that yes, I want this doll -- then I don't really plan when I'm going to buy it, I just sort of impulsively do it one day. ^^;

Strangely, I don't often impulse buy clothes/shoes/etc. I guess its because they are usually not limited, and I rarely find the "perfect" anything for my dolls in part due to some odd fitting issues and in part due to the type of things I like them to wear. I tend to plan out eye and wig purchases especially, which is probably why so many of my dolls have had to wait so long for their proper look. xD

56. I can totally understand when you go to certain doll sites and they have amazing outfits that are perfect!:D
Then you click on them and it says in red "SOLD OUT"!...(:horror::sigh:|
A whole rush of emotions appear on your face! That is my experience when I see them sold out and limited edition that are never coming back to be sold again on the site.:o You learn real quick that if you want something in the bjd world you better get it then or deal with not having it at all. *_* I know you should not impulse buy till you are poor. Just when you have the means to get the items you want without it affecting bills, food, and item you need. Then go go go!!!!!:D Because you never know when you might not have the chance to get that item(s) again. These are for items that you can't stop thinking about! They grab your attention so much you can never ignore or put them out of your mind. That is what happen to me with a few outfits!!*_* They have no mercy...:sweat:lol:

57. My entire life has been on impulse, why should my bjd purchases be any different? Its more fun that way!

58. My first Four dolls were impulse buys... and out of those four, I only kept one. (One was sold due to wanting to give my sick mom a good birthday, the other was sold because his resin was horrific, and the last one I sold was because I fell out of love with her) My fifth doll, I had wanted for a few months after I had joined the hobby. A Dollzone Hid. He was my only really planned buy, since I got a fullset one! The doll after him, however was an Impulsive buy. (My Two-S Doll Mayi) Though she has a boo boo on her leg that will be replaced at some point (Whenever Mint on Card makes another order with Two-S Doll), I consider her to be one of my best impulsive buys. And recently, I made another Impulsive buy on my sixth doll... A Doll Family Zi Luo (or known by his name translation: Violet)... because I have a weakness for good promotions, sales, and Elf boys... :sweat

So what I have learned is some impulsive buys can be really good, and others not so much. It is better to do research and see what others have to say about a company before purchasing a doll... or even what other owners have to say about them. Asking lost of questions helps and seeing owner pictures as well. You can still be impulsive, just do an hour of reading time before you buy. :)

59. I'm brand new to DoA and recently fell into what I call CRAZED love for these dolls. The whole switch going on for them seems like an impulse that came out of no where. Now I keep finding new categories, I guess you'd call them, that I need a doll for, AFTER I see one I want. I thought I'd never buy a male doll. Just saw one on auction with his beautiful black wig, and his attire is complete with the deal, princely type. About time I have one of those. Har, har I always needed one of those.

I deliberate some over the choices, but my heart is totally ruling over my head, or is it my...{addiction} NAH! I NEED this stuff.

I'm here because I was checking out the Two.S.Doll-MAYI. Wasn't sure about buying from what I think is a fairly new company in Chiina. I got my answer here already. Sounded like a thumbs up. Pretty sure I'm going back in to push that buyer button.

The accessories? I'm wanting to make my own, so I have the stuff for that all over my living room, matching up fabrics, trimmings. I was an antique dealer so I have some interesting tidbits I can't wait to try out. Plus, I'm a portrait artist so I just jumped on a doll that included a large set of pastels and brushes. It didn't take long at all for me to decide I want to do my own face-ups. More stuff to grab up.

I'd say my heart is completely ruler over my head when it comes to this new world I've found. Pocket book [money stash] look out, you're about to get swiped clean. [emptied]

I'm an artist, and I never get attached to my work. I love the most recent one for a little while, then I sell it. I don't know if I'm going to be able to do that with the dolls. Has anybody else kissed a doll and said "Welcome Home" -- maybe that's another thread. I don't know if I'm allowed to start those. For all I know, there may be one. I won't wander off on topiic of whether I can de-humanize them enough to swap them. Maybe if I think of them as foreign students just going on a trip, that way I can
KEEP BUYING. :]

What a terrible thought when I don't even have all of the oneS I've ordered here yet. ;[

I'll think about that tomorrow. Oh, is that impulsive?

60. Oh yes! i do this constantly!!! Ill see something for Basil and will click the buy button before i even know how much it is haha~
