Oh wow, she's looking amazing! That wig is awesome. Definitely a bit of Daenarys Targaryen going on there. And who's to say something can't be pretty and delicate at the same time as being utterly badass? Glad to see she managed to steal a couple of bird skulls! I can't get over the plaits - they're so intricate and her beautiful ears peeking through are really cute. But from the front the arch of her eyebrows give her more attitude. Have you found a name for her yet?

 

:P you're the 5th person who's made a game of thrones reference...i dont watch it so i had no idea who she was until i looked her up when my friend said (she looks as if Lothlórien met Daenarys" . i am a fan of Lord of the Rings though, so i wont deny stylistic influence from there :P game of thrones is more bloody than i care to watch.
i definitely agree you can be delicate and badass....i think in her casual clothes and her interaction with other dolls she was just coming off as very sweet and bubbly so i was beginning to she wouldn't be able to fall into her fantasy character as the ancient creature that was the embodiment of the element earth. then again, who says she can't be herself when she's not in her fantasy outfit ^__^
haha...the bird skulls were initially hers to begin with.....Heathcliff had just helped himself to a few which he never returned...so more bird skulls were made.
it's a shame those ears hide under most wigs. they are so cute and beautiful. they have these pretty swirly patterns on them too which impl doesn't show off at all in their site.

:/ no solid name yet. in the story she's sort of just an ever present force. there are 12 elements and 3 (life, death, chaos) spirits, all of whom are immortal with the elements as old as the earth and the spirits being truly timeless immortals. none of them are main actors, they're very present throughout the whole story and come and go but their not main characters in any way, if any of that makes sense .... In the story she has many , many names depending on who you speak. she's usually referred to as Terra or Mannaheime literally meaning 'earth' and 'home of man' (and women) respectively. i've been thinking of sticking to the story and letting her have many names but it would also make it confusing to talk about her....so choosing one name is still important.
she is the love interest of Chaos (who's shelled as Heathcliff and is a much more ambiguous but undoubtedly benevolent type of spirit than the way chaos is normally portrayed in traditional mythology) ...so ...yeah, i'm thinking of Either, Terra or Ivy but i haven't settled

Finally got a pic of my Vanessa head all finished. She needs thicker lashes and her real eyes and a wig and a body and some clothes and a name....

...but I'm pretty happy.

@urbanizer Your girl looks beautiful! I love her very red lips and how she has cool metallic eye-shadows. Great brows!

I think you and I are at the same progress stages with our dolls. Poor Martin is still just a head with temp eyes and wig, no body, but a faceup I like.

 

@urbanizer she looks fantastic. her lips are such a lovely color! love how the color sinks into the wrinkles to create darker areas. i'm really keeping my fingers crossed that impl will continue the winkled lip trend! i absolutely love it!!!!

i've been working on my Bernice some more. her name is Terra (in character, out of character i call her Ivy). her antlers are done! i cant wait to finish her and start taking couple shots with her and Heathcliff (my dollshe david)

And I have good news on my side. My order is finished! Amazing. I waited 5 months on my first oder and now.... I think it was only one month . Now I have to hurry order him new eyes and a wig and finding a face up artist. My fav one closed her business qwq
And this time I'm getting him a eclipse21 wig. I just have to save a lot of money

Thanks MaryamDN and mollym! So far she's going as planned! I'll make a wig for her as soon as I decide on a fiber and order it (if I don't have it on hand). I'm hoping her body will come by January, but April Story has a bad reputation about time to delivery, so I'm not holding my breath.

I LOVE watching the evolution of Terra! She's so unique and stunning! Her antlers are great!

@MaryamDN Well they say great minds think alike so if I'm person number five with a GoT reference then you must know some smart people! XD I think LotR would have beaten GoT to the punch had it been a fibre wig but the soft texture reminded me of Daenarys. Also my friend just started watching it so it was on my mind. I'm glad she finally got a name, Terra really suits her, so does Ivy, and wow those antlers are awesome! Are they tricky to keep on her head? It's cool that you essentially have two versions of her and both work for her. And I'm glad she finally got some bird skulls she got to keep!

@urbanizer your Vanessa looks stunning! Love the gold eyeshadow and the luscious red lips. I hope you're able to complete her soon and that April Story's warehouse problems don't delay her body too long.

@mikumikuowo I am crossing my fingers, my toes and anything else I can cross for you! Hope they arrive safely and are worth the wait!

@greeneyed-soul the height with heel feet on really depends on the shoe. There's no way to balance her on her tip-toes so if you want to know how much taller she'll be, measure the heel of the shoe she's going to wear. Generally as soon as my girl puts heels on, my Model boy has to get his platforms out or forget about being taller than her!

 

Hah! Heathcliff has a skull obsession...he's eyeing her skull accessories still, but i'm making him some more so all is good. I did end up researching GoT a bit more after so many people made remarks about her looking like Daenary and i can certainly see the resemblance. my dollsh have parallel lives as dolls, a casual one and a fantasy one it's more a reflection of my indecisiveness than anything else.
:P the antlers are actually very easy to keep on her head. they sit on her head like Thranduil's crown sits on his head.. it's flexible so it hugs whatever head it sits on it's pretty firm accept if she lowers her head too too much then is starts to put on her wig and everything will want to fall but 'cuz it's a hard cap wig without a wig cap <.<

Everyone's dolls are looking fabululous! I love that faceup, @urbanizer! She's going to be totally amazing when she's completed.

@mikumikuowo I'm glad you finally got a shipping notice! I'll keep my fingers crossed for their safe arrival, and I hope you absolutely love them.

In news from my end, I've got almost all the funds together for my custom coloured Azalea and Alma. I'm planning to get both on the Star body. Depending on how the holiday/Christmas season goes, I may be able to order them before the end of 2015, which would be super exciting, as they would then be my first (and probably only) dolls of 2016. Meanwhile, Zach (Gnaeus), Aubrey (Tony) and Gabriel (Gnaeus) are all still with me, as is Aenon (RS Long on IMPL Star colour matched body). I need to take new pics of Zach and Gabriel, but I do have loads of new pictures of Aubrey.

Ah, I see, thanks for the pic - they look even more detailed close up! Thranduil's crown looks like it shouldn't stay where it is, that it's actually his elven majesty keeping it in place but it's a surprisingly good design. Decisiveness is overrated! The whole point of bjds being customisable is so they can be whoever or whatever you want and I know I'd get bored if my dolls only had one style so let your creativity have free rein! Maybe Heathcliff thinks he's Hamlet...!

@SapphireStargazer yay for Alma and Azalea! And Aubrey is looking smoulderingly festive. But after a few glasses of mulled wine will he be tying his hair under his chin like a beard and saying Ho Ho Ho a lot??

Aubrey wants fashionable clothes, as usual. He got a lovely parka from Dollmore already (just in time for winter!) and he may be getting a couple of custom-sized shirts in jewel-toned colours. HIs real holiday present, though, is that we're expecting Sky (5Star Kevin) to arrive home sometime early in the new year.

Ahh...the body search is always a challenge, isn't it? My number of floating heads is surprisingly low at the moment, but I understand the need for bodies all the same. The struggle is real.

Thanks! I'm pretty excited for Alma and Azalea. They're both going to be custom colours; Azalea (big!Sini) in blue and Alma (Zera Gibson) in a beautiful warm brown. I was so pleased with the custom coloured body that I got for my lilac RS Long that I would highly recommend the colour mix service to anyone who wants something not on IMPL's "regular menu" of resin colours. Waiting 6 months for that body didn't thrill me overmuch, and all the jigs and reels I had to go through in the process seem to have made me fall out of love with the doll, but that in no way diminishes IMPL's customer service and the quality of their work.

haha...getting drunk and pretending to be Santa is more Zach's style than Aubrey's, I think. Aubrey would just be giving him a look of exasperation and going "Really, darling, must you behave in such an undignified manner?"

Does anyone know if normal 70cm clothes fit Impldoll's Idol 72cm body? Really tempted to get one for my floating head. Just as tempted to pay another $70 for a Jozo doll (but I don't need it) Sigh. Christmas temptation everywhere.

 

Thank you! The China is part of an Adeline tea set and it's modelled after Royal Albert "Old Country Rose". I really love it too, and it turns to be a perfect size for tea-loving Aubrey.

My blue Azalea is going to be a larger version of this character. Her name is Sini Iloa.

No...SD17 and "regular" 70cm clothes will be too small for the Idol guys. They're big, strapping boys and they wear EID-sized clothing.

Thank you so much! I bought two sets of eyes for her and they came earlier this week, but I haven't had a chance to try them on her yet. I think they irises might be too small, which is sort of unexpected, lol. I like small irises, but didn't realize these ones were miniscule! I didn't really want to shell out loads for some Enchanted Doll eyes, but I might have to after all.

 

I'm kind of thinking of Changing Dante up....I've had him for almost 3 years now...i think, and i'm thinking of giving him a new face up...but at this same time, i'm really going to miss this face of his! i just feel like my faceup skills have improved enough that it's time for an undated look. he was after all my first or second faceup...i can't remember if i did his first or my IS Tosaca head first.
i've already changed out his previous large acrylic eyes for my own, more realistic eyes and i love in on him, even though i just realized, they're a bit askew in this picture :P! i'm thinking maybe some scars for the new face.

 

So, I unstrung my Alma Star (her head is off for a faceup, and I wanted to get her blushing done before the head returns).
And I observed that the leg elastics pass through the bottom of the torso, crossing. So, when I restrung her, I decided to NOT cross the elastics. She is a bit easier to stand now, but sitting, her legs rotate out and flop. Standing is more important to me at the moment, so I'll leave her uncrossed.

Here is Evie. She is finally home and is adorable.
I need to get her some better clothes and I really need to figure out how to get her knees to stay when sitting. She also doesn't like to stand very sturdy so I might have to hot glue suede her or something. Impl sent me two free outfits too (Totally not her style though) which was very nice of them.

They also sent me my Gela pieces but...-___-; They sent "her" with her fantasy feet and instead of a girl body sent me a boy body. -Le sigh- but at this point I just don't care. I'm going to mod it into a girl body. And she'll wear her fantasy feet for now. Here is Evie!

 

<.< anyone ordering anything since the jozo event was released.....i find myself staring at jozo with a straight face and wondering what happened! i suppose he makes sense in the context of the war of future line....maybe <.< ....

It's actually white and has pink underneath it. It's a really gorgeous wig. Now that I have my girl with me I'm seeing her character come to life more. I think I want to do a really cutesy thing with her. Lots of pinks, sweets, knee high socks, the works.

 

she'll be great!!! can't wait to see her. i've always really liked Soft Poison's boy Candy. he's not a doll i'd own, partly because hes just way too young for my taste, but i do like him very much.

 

Oh yeah, I follow Soft Poison on Facebook! Her dolls are gorgeous. I only wish I could have dolls that look like that. But I will say it's nice having an SD. Evie is my first SD and compared to my MSDs she is so much easier to get pictures of. I don't have to be laying upside down to try and get a good shot haha. @MaryamDN

 

Anyone have a Deborah to share? Impldoll on facebook is doing a give away (you pay shipping) on either John or Deborah head sculpts.

 

I was just coming here to mention the event. I already messaged them about getting a Deborah. I plan to get a Star body for her though. I checked the measurements and the Idol and Star are both listed at 10cm. I haven't done anything with my Vanessa head yet since she's in white and I don't have a white body ^.^;

 

If I order her I will eventually want the Star body as well. I like the shorter legs. I haven't talked to my husband about making the purchase yet... blah... Its only 35 but we have Christmas and all that coming and life.. lol.

 

So there is a free head event again on Facebook.
Does anybody know which ones are offered for free?
