    2. ooooh dear....yes.... i think you might. i'm looking at the bottom of his hooves and aint no way in heck those were made to be removable! not unless you take tweezers or pliers to them. O.o she comes with human feet....but i didn't even bother opening the pack since i may choose to not keep her still...i dont want to damage to sculpt. i don.t understand why there isn't a semi-circular space on either side of the bottom to allow pliers to at least grab the button!
@rubydoll :P i just compared them side by side, you're right they do look slightly different. to me it's so minor and i only see it in their human head version...i didn't even notice or make note of it when i ordered her. it was either or for me :P
@Grouchy Gnome x___X yeah just one look at the bottom of her feet and i was like NOPE! not doing this! also! is that a tamed Bernice!!!!!? in the right carton?

    3. Click on the image icon (the "mountain/sun" next to the "smilies") and paste the link into the pop-up. Then click the "insert" button and the image will show up in the reply box.

    4. Wow, you've been busy! And that is a clever way to stop them rolling away. I love the scar and the fierce eyebrows of the guy in the middle but they do all look fab. I would swap my ability to post a photo from Photobucket for the ability to do faceups like that ;)

@MaryamDN I think their eyes are a slightly different shape - honestly I was looking for obvious differences and couldn't find one!

I have a plan for the feet though. Take off the head, thread a ribbon through the elastic then take the S hook off so I can slacken everything off...then I guess fiddle about with the hooves until they fall apart...? I swapped my AoD girl's feet to Impldoll feet so I didn't have to deal with the S hook being inside the foot rather than on top of it so I suspect she won't be wearing her hooves often!

    5. I had a harley tree boy and although the first 'button' came out really easily, the 2nd one wouldn't budge! I think I poked it out from inside in the end? Restrung the whole doll anyway, it was easier!

wow those are brilliant Grouchy - really beautiful work I love them all! :love

    6. @rubydoll that might work! tell us how it goes if you try it!
I just made a wig for Giden last night and she looks beyond adorable. i think i'll fully style her before i make up my mind....the styling isn't helping her fit in, but it is stealing my heart. Aiden and Giden are my favorites form the kids!

    7. I will do. I wonder when she and my Star body will get here. I placed the order two months ago, pretty much to the day but Angelesque said the current wait time is about three months. Fingers crossed it's not that long though, as I did order direct.

Aiden and Giden are absolutely adorable. I think Teno is cute as well and I almost requested a girl one as my event gift but Gela's cute squint won me over. As my collection is growing, space is running out on the sofa so the kids have been evicted to the shelves of an SD sized bookcase. Once Martin has a body he is so not going to fit with the others though so I need to find somewhere for him to go! So maybe a longer wait isn't a bad thing.

    8. MaryamDN, Rubydoll, Elve; Thanks for the compliments on my face ups. I've added a few more to the piles since this photo was taken. Sorry MaryamDNโ€ฆno Bernices in the piles. Rubydoll thank you so much! The guy with the scar through his eyebrow and the fierce look, with the "rim beard and patch" is the same head I spilled coffee on a while back and washed his beard off.:horror:
Anybody remember me complaining about that incident? The sculpt is a Gnaeus, and the character is Lieve Roel Van Rees, My Dutch mercenary/Soldier of fortune. (Yes, he is a bit raggedโ€ฆ.but tough!) Elve, thanks for your compliments too. It just takes me so long to do faceups anymore because of the arthritis in my hands. But I persist until my characters look "just right" to me, before I say "done."
AND I am going to keep trying all suggestions until I manage to get pictures up on this forum! :doh
Thanks to everyone who contributed to my education on this matter!

    9. Sooo..My Martin head finally came in!
And I have to say I really love the detailed freckles on his face but at the same time also noticed how uneven his faceup is. One side of his brow is obviously thicker than the other haha. Not that I'm complaining, because it gives him a more realistic look than expected ;)
      On to the pictures!
      Pretty boy!
      Some glittery eyes in!
Not really the style I am going for but damn he would make a fine woman!
Bonus pic of him with a tophat! :)

You can't really tell from the first pic but he looks like a suntanned surfer kid to me with the heavily blushed faceup. Adorable indeed!

    10. @MaryamDN I'm so in love with your Giden! You've most probably just enabled me to getting one of him to accompany Impl Ives since I've been on the lookout for a hooved companion :love
My Ives is also my only yosd in my large SD crew and I almost put him up for sale a few weeks back but I just couldn't bring myself to do it.
So I sold his clothes and wig and got in some clothes through DH's fukubukuro bags and bam! I fell in love with him again.

    11. @Grouchy Gnome oh, I remember the coffee incident now! Poor guy! But I'm glad you were able to re-do it which must have taken a special level of patience! But it sounds like his character has survived a lot worse than coffee trying to drown him!

@azurevsaztec I rather like the brows, looks like he's slightly raising one eyebrow, gives him a bit of attitude! That second photo especially has a kind of "...really?" thing going on.

I'm gonna be disappointed if I don't see a female Martin at some point. Come on you blank head owners!

I've put my Martin in a wig I got from Dollheart. I was hoping for a black sensible style in the lucky bags, I got black, at least. It's kind of a mullet but I do kinda love it. So he may be a superbuff, rockstar librarian! That's almost as fun as surfer dude in a top hat

    12. @rubydoll I'd really love to see Martin as a female or trans as well! He definitely can pull it off with his chiseled features. Don't you just love how putting on just a wig can bring so much ideas and development to his story? :)
Really love how your Martin looks in the black wig and how he's transforming into more than just a librarian!

I'm also using a temporary DH wig as well (practically the only decent wig I got in all my bags lol). At least the wig made me think of him as a surfer kid which never occured to me as a possibility in his storyline.

All I know about him so far is that his name's Ryder which he legally changed it from Thorpe Campbell (yes he's one of the descendants of Campbell Soup's founder who somehow is still carrying on the family name when in actual fact there aren't anymore around :P). And he changed his name because he wanted to escape the life of the rich and the redundant pressure that tags along with having to live up to expectations etc
So he escaped and joined College and is currently an Undergrad :)
But now he might possibly also have a strong love for the sea and surfing :B

    13. @azurevsaztec Soon my Martin will be more than just a head as well! Got my shipping notice for his body - and Gela will be in there as well - so I'm glad I didn't ask to have her switched to human legs as I'd have to wait longer!

    14. Sorry for the double post - doing this on my phone is not easy - hate touchscreens so much. Bring back my trackpad!

But yes, it's amazing what a difference a wig can make. And I love it when you get inspired to add little things. Ryder sounds like an interesting character already with his need to distance himself from what he believes he is expected to be and perhaps struggling to create his own identity. Surfing sounds like an appropriate hobby, an escape, a thrill, a bit of a risk.

I'm still searching for a first name for my Martin. I haven't pinned down his origin yet so he's currently going by Mr Randall which is not his real name. I'd hoped having his head in my hands would help with the naming process but no. Hopefully once he has a body, I can sit him opposite me in his likely ill-fitting clothes and I can trawl through some lists!

    15. I think surfing is definitely gonna be Ryder's means of escapism..like you mentioned a thrill that he is addicted to :)
Mr Randall sounds a perfectly proper name for a librarian! In fact it sounds rather majestic and important.
Can't wait to see him in complete form and know more about his story!

    16. Grouchy Gnome, awesome faceups!! We need a line up I think! <3

AZUREVSAZTEC, wow he is beauuuuutiful!! Supermodel indeed! I really love that natural faceup (and tell him it's OK... my real eyebrows aren't exact twins either... but you know... no one's said anything yet. Or at least in a long time. ;) ) That blond wig looks very suave on him too!

And oooh I missed lots of posts. Why wasn't I notified, dang it?

    17. ^____^ thank you. Giden is adorable. can you be so utterly in love with something and still not sure whether you'll keep it or not!!!!? i love her but she neither fits in nor are we bonding and yet i continue to work on her. I've just added horns to her wig. i'll post pictures once she's all done which will likely be this weekend. i intend on making her some simple fantasy clothes as well. i think part of my problem is that i just can't get into these little guys! i'm so used to having 70 and 70+ boys, and now Bernice at 69 cm that i almost cant see these smaller guys as BJDs! if that makes any sense!
your Martin in Blond with the top hat reminds me of Davey Havok crossed with Willy Wonka and the mad hatter in a sexy mashup! does any of that make any sense?!! :P i like him in the blond wig! he definitely has the super model/ wealthy look!

    18. I totally get where you're coming from! Maybe you can go in a different direction with her style and that might help you out a little?
In any case, I really like how much effort you are putting into her to perfect her, so I really hope you guys bond!

And holy shit, Ryder really looks like a mix of all of them! Too bad he's just borrowing the top hat from another of my dolls :D

@chalyss hehe I've yet to tell him anything about his eyebrows..but despite all of that he's definitely the prettiest in my crew of boys. And I'm glad he looks good in blonde..I really have to stay away from black wigs.
I really want to make his wig shorter but I feel guilty for ruining a good quality wig :/
I have a substitute red faux fur wig ordered for him, so I shall be trying that as well to see which colour suits him more :)

    19. oooh another gorgeous martin azurevsaztec I love him! :D

love that wig on 'Mr Randall' rubydoll - he is just SO glamorous! Yep definitely rock star material there (after he's done an exhausting day in the library of course) ^_^ Glad he will soon have a body - how are you dressing him?

MaryamDN I am same in seeing smaller dolls as more like 'toys' than bjd - I sold all my tinies way back but still kept their tiny cute clothes, which was my undoing ^_^ I bought another tiny recently JUST because I wanted a little wearer for the cute clothes! I think every collection can bear at least one 'baby' :whee:

    20. Wow! I'm having a blast looking at all the great Martin heads! I agree, that sculpt could be a super gal. I want one too! NOPE, I can't get another head right now, with all the heads I have in various stages of completion. Besides, it's been raining for two weeks and I can't spray the ones that are done. I don't want to wait until Spring, to finish the heads I already have. Ratz. I wish we could have a few sunny days before winter really starts setting in. It's times like this that makes me wish I lived in a tropical sun belt.

    21. I just barely got my Vanessa head painted before the weather turned. Now it's wig-making and outfit-sewing season for all the dolls, lol. I'm expecting a head in December that will just have to wait until spring for a face.

    22. here's my Giden...... i dont think i'm going to do any more work on her. it's pretty clear that there's no bonding at this point :/ yosd just not my size regardless of how cute they are.

    23. @azurevsaztec you could try tying the blonde wig into a ponytail - it looks like it's layered enough to give the illusion that it's shorter from the front. Even if the ponytail isn't what you want to stick with it will give you an idea what the wig would look like short. I get nervous cutting wigs though - maybe I should practise more on my own hair, lol, plenty of it and it grows back! I think majestic and important are two adjectives Mr Randall would be happy to have applied to him!

@chalyss my notifications seem to be a bit odd too. I'll visit a thread and find I've missed a load of posts it didn't tell me about. I think going to the Watched Threads thing is probably better than relying on the pop up bit. (tech speak there!)

@elve - how am I dressing him? Ugh, right now in anything that fits! I have a suit on order for him but for now he is squeezing into some Dollheart 70cm clothes. I didn't like the stripey pants I got in the lucky bag but they grew on me when I saw how good his bum looked in them! I'm hoping the tops will stretch a bit cos I love them but they are so tight! I had to undress him so I could play with his posing. Good news though - his not-so-massive feet do fit in some of the shoes I have for my other boys (who tend to wear bigger shoes anyway)

@MaryamDN Your Giden is adorable. So sorry you're not bonding with her but I'm sure she'll have no problem finding a new owner to fall in love with her.

So yes, my package arrived yesterday. Couple of hiccups - one outfit I ordered was missing (I was kinda expecting something would happen there, tbh. They sent a refund but they sent it as a payment so PayPal got to shave off their portion before I got it.). And then Gela. Oh my. Took her out of the packaging, put her headcap back on, realised I hadn't even thought about eyes for her and then I discovered she came with an extra part I certainly hadn't been expecting! So it seems I will be doing a male to female mod at some point in the near future!

Then I attempted to change the hooves. Hoo boy. It's not an S hook, it's a metal ring which I opened with pliers. I did try to film myself taking the hooves off because I so foolishly believed I could do it. After five minutes of me prodding the bottom of the hoof while looking around fruitlessly for some kind of tool I could use, I hit stop. I did succeed eventually though - used a chopstick to press the button in enough that I could get a thick needle in the hole the S hook goes through. I'm not sure I could have done it without slackening the elastic off first though so I think opening the ring or undoing the knot and restringing the whole body is probably the only way to do it.

I also restrung the Star body's legs. He's got the hip crossover thing as well. I thought that was what was making him click his heels together military style but he still does that a bit. But I can make him open his legs easier for an open stance. I think it's possibly slightly harder to get him to sit now but once he does he seems to sit up straighter. I like that he has ridges to hold his slouch but getting him into position to begin with takes a bit of force. I like the sculpt overall - not so keen on the moobs but he has a lovely big butt (which I will be cursing when no trousers ever fit) and there's a nice bit of detailing down there which I have mixed feelings about. Probably because while trying to jam him into various bottoms I had my face right in that area more than I would have liked. Impldoll put the jointed hands on him, which was nice of them, except one came off in transit so I think I put it back on correctly. I haven't had a proper play about with them yet but they're nicely detailed.

Anyway, here's a pic I took last night.

    24. @rubydoll Yay congrats on your arrivals! I'm really interested to know about the posability of the jointed hands btw :)
I love the way he's posing..its like he's saying "why the hell am I naked!?"
And omigosh your Gela looks absolutely adorable in that outfit. Did you order it as a set or you got these items from the fukubukuro bags, cause they seem to be very well coordinated :)
Looking at your photo, I realised how much slimmer the legs are on the star body as compared to the legs of the idol body.
I've been contemplating on whether or not to get the star body for my Ryder as well, but I decided not to, as I love hybriding and decided to go with RS (which I am hoping will organize some sort of christmas event :B)

    25. thank you about Gidden :/ i hope she finds a good home. she deserves one.

he looks very pretty!!! how nice of Impldoll to give you jointed hands! i got heals with my Bernice and human feet with Giden, but i would have loved jointed hands. i've been meaning to get them for some time .
my Bernice as a ledge on her thigh joint where it meets the bum....have you checked your star body to make sure he had/ doesn't have one? she sits all on her own without needing to lean on anything when she's had her thigh placed properly with the ledge keeping it from sliding back in the bum joint.
O.o how strange that he's got detailed bits.... Bernice has NOTHING! like she's....just like old school dolls, nothing. i could care less but it's funny that the guys are so detailed there and the girls aren't :p

X_________X who ever ends up with giden will have to do the transition to human feet! no way am i attempting to unstring and restring her now based on your description!

    26. rubydoll Congrats on completing your boy - I have to say he is a rather lovely young man after all :love You're really fearless with the restringing too, unlike me!

    27. I think he's having that nightmare where you're naked in a public place, and he's like just act natural...! Gela is wearing a full outfit, Dania, which I ordered so I could get a fukubukuro, and the boots which I ordered when I got more lucky bags later! A lot of the pieces I got from the yo-sd fukubukuro do go quite well with this style though which is cool. I'll definitely take plenty of photos of his hands when I've had time to play with them properly! His legs seem pretty huge to me but I guess it depends what your basis for comparison is. I'm also planning to strip everyone off and take photos of them in their underwear because that's always fun! Not that poor Mr Randall has any underwear yet...! RS as in ResinSoul or RS Doll? ResinSoul do male jointed hands now so I'm tempted to get some for my Model boy.

The hands weren't a gift, sadly - the Star body was just below the threshold to qualify for the event doll so I ordered the hands so I could get Gela. My Gang body has a butt ledge but I don't think the Star has. He does kinda lock into a sitting position though because his thigh mobility bits have to twist so the slot is on top - and when he's standing, he doesn't bow so easily, it does take a bit of maneuvering to get him to sit. But it's worth it for not getting headbutted by him! The girls have nothing down there? Not even the kinda token groove? Part of me thinks that's a little unfair, another part is asking if I want more detail down there and, er, no.

I was really hoping I'd find an easy way to change the hooves and be smug about it, but sadly not! Still, your Giden has such beautifully blushed hooves, I'd be inclined to leave them on anyway ^^

I started small with restringing and worked my way up - I don't know if I'm just getting used to it, but the Star body didn't seem to be strung as tightly as my Model boy when he arrived. Honestly it took me a while just to get my boy's head on when I got my first SD. But with the Star, the trickiest part was that the S hook wants to slip inside the neck a little bit rather than resting on top so I was worried about chipping it. There is a bit of gapping as the star neck is a bit smaller than the Idol which I think is why he has a bit of a headtilt sometimes.

Here's a quick snap of him with my other boys. The taller one is on a ResinSoul Gang body and shorty there is the Model body.

    28.
    29. Congratulations MaryamDN and Rubydoll, on your gorgeous new dolls! They are wonderful!:love

    30. Hi all....

      Figured I'd give another update.
So. Bless Impldoll because even though my dolls got lost in the mail they are giving me a new Dorisy head on the Model Body AND making me a new Gela for no charge.
I have to admit that through all of this hassle they have been amazing and always willing to help me out.

They said that my new girls should ship out by the end of this month so fingers crossed that things start to get better! :vein

      • x 1
    31. Oh my goodness, @mikumikuowo ! You've had such bad luck with this doll. I'm so sorry! I'm glad Impl has done their best to help you with it. Fingers crossed your resin friends are home soon!

I recently put together an Impl hybrid which I'm rather proud of. It's a Cedarheart Lillian on an Impl Star body.

Her whole body is freckled (which was really fun to do). Resin match is quite good between the two. I've ordered an Azalea and a Bernice head to be the young version of this same character. I couldn't decide which would work better so I got both...

      • x 3
    32. Thank you, @BlitheFool It really has been a horror show...But I think the only thing that is making it better is they are holding up and sending me the correct dolls for no charge. When I get these dolls it's going to be so weird because I feel like I haven't ordered them lol. They'll realistically get here probably close to Christmas so a little gift from Impl Santa haha. :)

And that hybrid is seriously gorgeous!! :)

    33. Yay! Impl-Santa! My favorite Santa of all :D

Thank you! I fell in love with that head but she's quite large with a big neck hole. Turns out she fits Impl bodies like she was made for one.

    34. I wonder if they're just trying new things out. If I remember correctly, they updated the male Star body before the female one, and I guess as they made the female Star and Idol the same basic body, the legs had to be compatible with the Idol line...? The Star is 65cm tall so it sounds like you have an Idol. I thought the blushing looked too strong for pastel - your first time with acrylic? Well done! Acrylic is not my friend. Even with retarder I don't have enough time to correct my terrible mistakes!

Thanks @Grouchy Gnome ^^ I'd like to say he's settling in well but right now he's looking very uncomfortable sitting between my two girls while my poor Ziv sits at his feet looking very put out at being turfed off the sofa!

@mikumikuowo fingers crossed your girls get here soon. It's been such a trial getting them! I hope they remember to put your Gela's human feet on, and I hope she's on the right body unlike mine!

@BlitheFool Wow, she really does suit that body! Love her hair and head accessory. She's so elegant!

And because I apparently forgot to add the picture last time, here's Impldoll's new Star versus their Model (shorty) and ResinSoul Gang (lanky)

    35. @mikumikuowo That is incredible news! I'm sorry your dolls were lost in the post, but that has to be the best, absolutely best customer service story I have ever heard!!!! Wow! I'm so glad the resin gods have blessed you. This really makes me so glad to hear.

Everyone's dolls are looking spectacular. I'm playing the saving game, er planning to save after the New Year.... these holidays coming up and I just had a dolly con va-cay so I'm broke for dolly funds. I'm enjoying new dolls and all the joy of Impldoll ownership vicariously for now. Thanks for sharing, y'all.

    36. O.o what mistakes...everyone's looking great here! i'm not complaining if i do have an idol <.< ....but i defiantly ordered a star....maybe they were just super nice! i adore my nameless Bernice beyond words. and she seems to have found a best friend :P and a partner in mischief, even though Heathcliff, my Dollshe David, is her romantic partner.
i don't know what these two are staring at...what/who ever it is, is in trouble O.O
the pretty boy is my Switch Milhwa.

    38. I could decorate a chamber of horrors with the terrible things I've done with acrylic. One poor guy, after I messed his face up beyond fixing I decided to just practise brush strokes all over his head. And then I got paranoid I hadn't sealed well enough so I scrubbed it all off before it had chance to stain!

Since the difference between the Star and Idol is just the leg length, it wouldn't surprise me if they put the wrong ones on. And hey, so long as you're happy, free upgrade! Heathcliff and Bernice look fab together. I hope they're not being bad influences on each other cos they definitely look like they're up to something!

Good luck finding a name for Bernice, I know how tricky that can be! Mr Randall is still not on first name terms with me and even though my Ziv is named Alisander, it's too much of a mouthful to call him that and none of the diminutives seem to fit. And Gela, still no clue who she is, poor sweetie!

    39. @mollym Yes, I really have to admit that they have been nothing but helpful since this whole debacle. Just can't wait for my girls to get home.

@rubydoll Honestly at this point if they don't put her human feet on I'm just going to have her wear the other feet. I don't even care at this point, you know? Lol. I just want my resin babies. Although this has given me time to find them both a proper wig and set of eyes so it hasn't been all bad.

    40. @mikumikuowo I'm glad you were able to see a bright side - hope the wigs and eyes fit and they both suit! And the hooves are cute. I just have shoes that are cuter ;)

There was sunshine earlier. Great, I'll take photos! By the time I'd got my crew undressed the clouds had gathered and it was raining. Bah. But I took some reference shots anyway. If you don't want to see lots of naked resin look away now.

[IMG]Impldoll New Star Body Comparisons by Rubydoll Chaos, on Flickr

There's more pics in the album. I almost feel sorry for the boy on the Gang body. Compared to the other two, he almost doesn't have a butt! Also, I got the non-jointed hands out to take a look. They are the same size as the Model boy's hands! Possibly even slightly smaller! The jointed hands are definitely Idol hands as they are pretty big, definitely larger than the Star's default hands.

      Also, Martin's head is huge!

    41. oh my!!! well... i've made my fair share of mistakes and more than once i've wanted to bead a bjd head with another bjd head cuz i got so frustrated with the faceups!
^.^ oh that's not Heathcliff. that's Onyx, my Switch Milhwa. he's also Bernice's Step brother....the cynical, sarcastic, but endlessly loyal sweetheart you can't hate. him and Bernice are best friends. Heathcliff is my Dollshe David :P and Bernice's romantic partner. he's also the more mature "adult" figure that keeps everyone in check.

:P most my dolls have full names that are either long or just a mouthful. for example...Heathcliff's full name is Fabian Angelus Heathcliff. i love how your dolls are in complete out fit and look in character...mine aren't like that. they're clothed ...not in character (i see them more as actors anyway so they spend most of their time in casual clothes...rather than fantasy outfits!)

i see what you mean about Martin's head ^____^ that's the thing with Impl...most of their Idol heads are bulbous! even my Marcus' head i've noticed in very top heavy compared to other companies' dolls....i was relieved that Bernice's head is pretty normal. with a wig though, i do find it's less obvious. i used a not very dense fur to make marcus' wig and it worked well.
holy veins on the model body's arms though!!!! O.O are there any on the forearm or just on the bicep?

@ronnie92 this faceup is looking very cool! i like the look of the fur (?) you used as well. very cool!

    42. @MaryamDN - Your Bernice is gorgeous! She looks so nice with your Dollshe boy.

    43. @rubydoll So, the only difference between model and idol is just the legs? So it's from the same mold except the leg pieces? That is very interesting......

    44. @MaryamDN Ohh, okay, I got a bit confused there. But if confusing Onyx with Heathcliff meant another Bernice pic with actual Heathcliff then it's all good! I can't get over how different your Bernice looks compared with the company pics. And I love that bird skull necklace!

Yeah, Martin's arms are incredibly veiny and yep, he has them on his forearms too. I'm not a fan of them but I don't hate them enough to sand them off. I won't be blushing them if I ever get round to doing his body. It stopped raining long enough for me to give Gela a really basic faceup - it's far from perfect but it's okay for now. I feel like I am getting better at them gradually but I probably won't be able to practise much before spring.

I couldn't decide what clothing style I wanted for my dolls since I like casual and fantasy. So I decided their backstory would take place across two worlds, ours and a fantasy world where there be dragons, just so I could dress them however I like. They're all wearing stuff from Dollheart's Fukubukuro event at the moment but I suspect as soon as it gets really cold here I'll be dressing them all in jumpers and coats. Sometimes I come up with plot points why they're wearing certain outfits. I can't think of one for Mr Randall's current outfit though other than there was a fire in his wardrobe and this is all he could salvage, or he got dressed in the dark!

Also he has to choose between having his trousers done up or sitting down. I hope his other outfit gets here soon.

@mollym Not quite - the Star and Idol girls share the same body but have different legs. The Star and Idol male bodies are different. I think it's so they can offer three different bust options for the two different sizes without having to make six different bust pieces. And this is just the new Star which is very different to the very slender old Star.

    45. @rubydoll thank you! i can't believe how much i adore her! i honestly never thought i'd be into a girl doll but she's just such a cutie! i love photographing her.....she needs clothes still. i've been so busy with other projects i havn't had a chance to tend to my own dolls, but she kinda looks cute in this baggy guy shirt! actually for the most part, i've been enjoying all my dolls much more lately. Onyx just arrived about 2 weeks ago....she's Darkling's former Jamie. i took off his faceup and gave him a new one to match my lot. after doing Onyx and Bernice's faceup, i'm really tempted to redo both my marcus' faceup and my dollshe Saint's....i need time. ^_____^ and thank you about the necklace...those little bird Skulls are what i make late at night when i'm too exhausted to work on anything else and right before i go blind :P they were actually originally for Bernice....but Heathcliff gets away with murder <.<

you do the same thing i do with my dolls :P except your collection is much larger than mine both in clothes and in dolls. i make the clothes myself which means i always to salvage the time to do it between other work.

the veins are very prominent.i think it's part of impl's experimentation and practice in developing more realistic sculpts. i have the old idol body and there are no veins on it...i could see some light veining being nice, but nothing too obvious.i idolize dollshe for their 28 M body, all the details are so inconspicuousness and only visible under the right lighting conditions.

@BlitheFool thank you ^______^ if i had to choose the gem among the boys, Heathcliff would probably be my number one....i worked so hard to get him X____X but there is only one girl is this house ^_^ and she will be very spoiled soon!

    48. Love Bernice!:love and Martin is so pretty!:D
I've just stumbled across the B&G website www.ibgdoll.com/en/ and they propose a 67cm girl body with a 12cm neck size (female Martin?)

    49. You make the bird skulls? And this is what you do when you're exhausted?? Are they sculpted? That's really amazing ^^ I really should make more things for my dolls - the opportunity to that was one of the reasons I got into the hobby. But there are so many nice buyable things! I might be forced to make Mr Randall some clothes though.

It's a bit scary that this time last year I had one yo-sd and a head with a body and my first girl on the way and now I have two tinies, two yo-sds, and five SDs. I don't want my collection to get much bigger though so I think next year will be focusing on the dolls I have. Mostly.

Dollshe's details are insane! Their dolls are really beautiful.

Wow, he looks fab! Quite haunting. The purple wig really suits his colouring.

Welcome to the Martin As a Woman Enablers Club. Pull up a chair and help yourself to a cookie :)

    50. @rubydoll, thanks!
I just spotted that the B&G body had been mentioned earlier on!:doh

    51. It's fine, keep mentioning it! ;)

I almost forgot. I finally tried the default hands on my Star body - they're so comparatively small I actually checked to make sure they were the right hands. They are - I just hadn't noticed how tiny they look before. They are lovely hands but they are a smidgeon smaller than the Model hands. If only they were in white, I'd totally swap them onto my Model boy. I think the Star will be sticking with the actually rather huge jointed hands.

    52. @No_comment Wow! Martin looks amazing!!! I love seeing other dolls of a sculpt I have at home. I'm loving that purple wig. Seeing all these guys is really helping to motivate me to put a body for mine in layaway asap.

@rubydoll I love the pics of your dolls together. Thanks for all the reference photos! I've had a good time going through your Flickr pics. I am completely convinced he will need those jointed hands now. I too have had a plentiful bjd year. I'm still new too, so it seems kinda normal for a collection to grow quickly then to shift focus onto customization, sewing and general craftiness.

@MaryamDN I too am incredibly impressed at your artistic endeavors. Those tiny bird skulls are amazing. It would take me weeks and weeks of focus and practice to attempt something like that. Bravo!!!

I agree, Martin would make a very striking woman, too!!!!!

    53. Aw, thanks! I'm not a very good photographer but I hope that my pictures might be useful to someone because I know that I always try to find owner pictures and comparisons whenever I'm getting a doll and sometimes they're pretty rare! I also like messing about, hence why whenever I get a new head or body I like to swap everything around! I can confirm that Model heads do not fit the new Star body!

    54. yup ^_____^ i LOVE polymer clay...it's great for these things. my third hand finaly cam e in the mail, so i was hoping it would save my eyes from the paint of these tiny skulls, but i can't really function through a magnifying glass :( i'm all disoriented...so either i need more practice, or the third hand was a waste :/ but yes ^___^ i make everything for my dolls.....including the eyes. i dont think i've ever bought any clothes or accessories, except for 2 violins....but i dont really have any space for wood work, so that was inevitable.
I think i've been in the hobby since 2013 now......<.< the dolls have a way of multiplying. I think i'm at 5 SD boys , 1 SD girl, one yosd which really doesn't count now since she's not staying, and 11 floating heads <.< i find heads sharing bodies is a more convenient way to collect the dolls when you're short of space :P
my favourite part is making things for my dolls. right now Bernice is my personal project between other work...so i sneak in time to work on her fantasy outfit....then eventually her casual outfit. what's martin's character?
those hands are very different O.o how peculiar!

@mollym thank you ^_____^ it comes to me naturally :/ art has always been intuitive fore me....math <.< not so much ....not driving. learning to drive was very difficult for me. i still don't enjoy it. off topic :P

    55. Polymer clay - like Sculpey? Is there a knack to not burning small pieces in the oven? I think I boiled the last things I made. I had some that a friend gave me and it was fab but when I bought some myself there was a big pack for cheaper than the smaller pack so guess which I went for? It was so hard to work with and everything turned out really brittle. I should buy some of the good stuff and have another go some day.

I was very confused by the third hand - I'm guessing it's a stand with a magnifying glass? It probably is something you have to get used to. I have to take my glasses off when I'm working on small fiddly things though as I'm short-sighted they do the opposite of magnify so that actually makes sense.

I swore no more floating heads at one point. But I also said no hybrids...My boys did share a body for a while when I was waiting on the second body but now I can't really imagine my first head being on that body. His current one suits him so much better. I can see how body sharing makes sense and is a good way to have more dolls without needing so much space but I don't know if I could do it. But this could be one of those things I change my mind about further along the line!

I hope you're able to finish Bernice's outfit soon. I love the idea of you almost surreptitiously working on it - it sounds like you're enjoying doing it ^^ My Martin is Mr Randall, still without a first name, and he kinda got crowbarred into an existing character in the story I created for my first three dolls because my next four dolls had forced me to make new characters. I'm still working out his backstory but personality-wise, he's stern but with a heart of gold. He's an immortal librarian, possibly an old god, whose role in the story is to help my MCs out.

The Star hands look frustratingly good on my Model boy. If only they were white. Anyone ever bleached tan resin??

    56. hmmm i think i know what you're talking about.... so sculpey clay has a larger case. it's just called Sculpey original. i've only seen it in white and tan and i only use white because i paint everything anyway. then there are also the tiny SculpeyIII packsi dont use them, i find they go hard waaaay too quickly after they've been opened and dont last long. they're also firmer to work with, they need a bit more kneeing. the original sculpey stuff for me lasts much longer. a new pack that hasn't passed it's shelf life should be soft. when it comes to burning, chances are you're just leaving them in for too long or on too high a temp relative to the size of wtv you're making. i leave my work in for about 15 to 20 mins on 250. the only clay i've ever burnt it the semi translucent sculpey III i got and thats because i left it at 350 <.< it blew up like a black Bolton. i dont mind if my white clay tuns out a tiny bit browned near the edges because like i said , i paint it...but i've never had a problem with sculpey original being brittle. really thing stuff will obviously be weak and more vulnerable to ripping and breaking but otherwise no problem on my end. kneed your clay well. Sculpey original is a bit softer, if your hands are always warm, it'll make it a bit sticky and harder to work with, but i'm practically an undead, my hands and feet are ALWAYS freezing.

i udnerstand what you mean with floating heads....i would ideally have bodies for all my heads since i tend to be lazy with switching heads and half my dolls end up getting neglected. bernice is lucky that way, she's the only girl.

bleaching resin ? hmm i'd like to know too. i have a hopelessly Orange dream of angel body i'd love to lighted up a bit...otherwise it'll get extensive modding and tattooing and become a demon.

    57. The Sculpey my friend gave me was light pink - like Impl's normal pink resin! I bought white Sculpey and it was a lot softer and harder to work with as it kept sticking to my hands - I don't think they could have been too warm because I always have cold hands and feet! Maybe it needed kneading more? I suppose it could have been brittle cos I underbaked it - the oven is a bit variable! I probably still have it somewhere so I should get it out and have a play. I could make a Christmas cake for my gang!

I think actual bleach is very bad for resin but oxy...clean...I think is good for cleaning and lightening yellowed resin. I'm kinda intrigued by the demon idea tho! ;)

    58. haha!!! you and i both!. i still wouldn't mind getting his skin a bit lighter before i start digging into him. he's VERY Orange! and the head he's on in an Aimerai neck chopper in tan which is a beautiful tan color. i don't want to blush the head anymore and the orange base of the body is too dark right now to blush and still get a good match. it definitely needs to be modified somehow..... right now i can take pictures of him...but i have to be very mindful of the lighting to make sure the mismatch isn't too obvious Lucas. :/ i hope i can save this body, i love the head and i want to have it on a body instead of just in a box. i'd get a ringdoll body for him but right now, it's not in my budget to do that.
i have oxy clean at home <.< i should try it on his hand and see if it does anything.

hmm, i did find it hard to get used to the stickiness of the white, but now i don't think about it anymore. under baking would definitely make it brittle though.... maybe have another go at it! a cake sounds like a lovely idea. if it gets old, the little pack can become super hard and then brittle before you bake it....i gave up on the little packs and ended up throwing a few out....they literally become impossible to work with when they get old

    59. Mm, yeah, if the head is a colour you like you definitely don't want to have to blush it. I haven't had to de-yellow a doll yet - if anything I've been going for the opposite. My white dolls have mellowed so when I got new legs and hands for one they were paper white and I'm glad they've calmed down a bit. My first head was Impldoll White Skin but either he's really yellowed or they were using different resin because he totally didn't match his body when I got it. I did stand that body naked in the window for a day or so in an attempt to get it to the right colour. I didn't succeed. I got a new head for that body and got the head a colour matched Resinsoul body which suits him so much better. Good luck with the Oxyclean if you try it!

My Sculpey might be a bit past it as I've had it for a long while. Still, I think I'm about due a trip to Hobbycraft with my friend ;)

    60. @rubydoll i love looking for stuff i can use in my project! i literally look everywhere...from home depot to thrift stores to art stores to toy stores <.<

i've finished my Bernice's fantasy wig ^___^ i'm so excited to see her finally going into character! she's far from complete, but the wig was a big step and i like how the necklaces work on her. i was a bit worried that she would look too delicate to be a powerful creature, but she's doing great!
