OkamiKodomo: I actually have an RS tiny in their dark grey *laughs*. I think I have a bit of a thing for grey skin dolls as I own 4 right now (RS DG, IS GS, Soom GS, Lume zombie skin). I'm not sure if I'd want him as dark a grey as the RS DG, but the current grey offered by Impl is far, far too light for my needs. I think I'd want something between the lovely medium shade of the IS and the deep tone of the RS DG. I'd likely send them a photo of those two dolls together (they're actually father & son) and ask for a shade in the middle of them.

 

Does anyone know if IMPL has stopped issuing CoA with their dolls? Aubrey doesn't have one. I didn't throw away any of the packing materials because I was worried that it might've just gotten caught up in there somewhere. I checked all the pockets of his carrier and...nothing. It's a little concerning that he doesn't have one. I think I'm going to email IMPL and ask them about it. Has anyone else received a doll recently with no CoA, or is this perhaps just an oversight on IMPL's part?

Oh, that Christmas money! Mine is going to be spent on a new flash unit for my camera, since mine died yesterday. I think you have a hard choice there! I would have difficulty choosing between Nelson and the PS4 Good luck!

Thanks so much! I didn't care for the Tony photos on the site either, but I saw someone else's blank photos of him and my willpower was done for. I also love how the face sculpt is so versatile and I can easily imagine an angry or snarky Tony. Aubrey is definitely going to be 'sultry'. His character is an actor and model.

As far as the Idol heads being small, they are 23.5cm so I think they're pretty average. My boys all wear 8/9 wigs, although I have had 9/10 wigs on both Zach and Gabriel at some point, and they were fine with a silicone wig cap underneath. At the moment, Gabriel is wearing a fa-tiao 8/9 and Zach & Aubrey are both wearing Monique 8/9 wigs. I think it depends on how the wig is made, really. Some companies run small with their 9/10 wigs, I think.

A friend of mine has some dollies in the two RS greys. They're lovely colors, with a sort of smoky quality that's hard to describe. I really like it. The tiny I have coming with my Joshua and Ziv is in Impldoll's grey skin, so I'm really looking forward to her.

He really is lovely. Thank you for the tips on wigs. I suppose I'll just have to wait and see. With luck, a wig cap will be enough. Worst case, I can order the wigs I have for him in a smaller size... or at least a similar one. I don't think Luts sells the one I have anymore, let alone in a different size, but other companies have snow white shaggy wigs. And a plain black long wig will be easy to find.

 

SapphireStargazer; WOW! I don't check the thread for a couple of days, and things happen! Congratulations on finally receiving Aubrey! Tell Zach we are happy for him, and welcome Aubrey from all of us. Isn't it amazing how different a sculpt can look, interpreted by individual artists, and varieties in skin color? Your Aubrey definitely has "that look" about him. (The same look I recognized in Drake, and in your Zach as well.)
The only doll I have on layaway now is Filraen. When I ordered my first Idol, waaaaay back, I had a very hard time deciding between Filraen and Mzzen, when they were first introduced by ImplDoll. Mzzen made the cut as my "Drake Daemon DeFae." Now I have decided to plague Drake with his long lost brother Dirk. (We shall see what eventually percolates between the DeFae brothers.) War or peace.

Thorne and Raoul seem to be getting along. (Joshua and Tony.) They sit in chairs in my living room and have long conversations.
Sylvie Anne and her cousin Miranda are complaining because I didn't get Lieve's head, (Gnaeus) or any of the other girls heads done before the early rains made fall disappear, and weather turned too damp and cold for faceups. So they will sit during the winter and I will get their wardrobes together and wait for spring; perhaps give up and send their heads out to an artist who lives in a warmer climate to
complete.

Since I'm so far behind with this thread, I'm trying to catch up by telling everyone who is waiting for or recently received a new ImplDoll,

More time I spend with my Nelson, more I like him, he's very good construction, better that I expected. A few days ago I takes off his strings and saw how good the construction is. I changed his string, they were too tight!!!

Welcome back, Grouchy Gnome! It's great to hear that you & your resin folks are doing well. I'm sorry that you weren't able to get to your faceups before the rain came. If you're thinking of sending them off to an artist, I can recommend a couple of really good ones who work for reasonable prices.
Yes indeed, Aubrey is here in all his glory. Thanks very much for the congratulations on his arrival. He's pretty much taken over the place and - faceup or no faceup - has demanded to be photographed repeatedly. haha...once he's got his face on, I'll probably never be able to get him away from the camera. There are quite a few photos of him in my flickr already. I think you're absolutely right about the interpretation of sculpts. I think Aubrey looks quite different from the few other Tonys I've seen around, even if he isn't painted yet.
Congrats on ordering your Filraen. lol things should get interesting when Dirk & Drake are reunited! I predict fireworks.

Sapphire: That face structure is so nice. I like his factory face up but I like even more how other artist may bring this guy to life. I like his eyes shape. I see that his hands are very detailed too. That pink normal color is a big contrast with real UV color, both looks good! Is Aubrey an angel too? Can you tell us a bit more about him He look VERY close to Zack.


I'm planing to make one of my idol a very classic style guy, he will be a barista, and the other... well a brat.

I ordered from m3bjd but I haven't any news about my order, do you know how much time takes them to send an order, last time I order from them they sent me my order in a week.

Ohh....your Nelson is such a handsome guy!

I love Tony's face structure and eye shape as well. I think Aubrey's eye openings are small enough that he could wear an 11mm eye instead of the 13mm he is currently wearing. I'm going to try that at some point before he goes to the artist for his faceup. I have something very specific in mind for Aubrey's faceup, so I decided to get him blank and ask an artist to paint him. Personally, I was not a fan of Tony's default faceup because I think it's too dark and I don't like how much gloss IMPL uses.

Aubrey is a demon, although in his human form he's an actor and model. He and Zach are really supposed to be enemies (or playing for opposing sides, at the very least), but things didn't work out like that and now they are carrying on a not-so-secret love affair. This is Aubrey's self-introduction, and might give you a better idea of what he's all about.

M3 Studio can take up to a month. Sometimes you have to send them an email and remind them about your order. I had to do that last time I ordered from M3. Also, I had to remind them that I could file a PayPal claim if they didn't send my order and continued to ignore my emails. I want to order some things from M3 again, but I'm thinking of emailing Alice's Collections to see if Alice can get them through her site instead. She has other M3 stuff, so I'm hoping she can get the EID size things as well.

Wow... Octavia's makeup is scary...

 

He does have a very nice face. The company shots, while good, don't really do justice to how nice the sculpt is.

And my purchase of Ziv is getting pushed back. AGAIN. *sigh* I've just recently found out that the things I was unsure about being possible for the Leeke OD are entirely possible so I'll be ordering him instead since the pre-order period is so short and the stretches between that line available for purchase are few an far between. Such is the way with dolls though. At least I know I will be getting a doll as my Xmas present (although I highly doubt he'll actually make it to my house for Xmas) as the OD is less than if I'd ordered Ziv and I have all the cash necessary right now.

 

Ah, Iron_Dog, we all know about the fluidity of doll plans. Sorry to hear your Ziv plans have been pushed back again, but it is good news that you can get what you want from Leeke right now. After the spectacular implosioh of my flash unit, my doll plans have altered somewhat as well. I am still going to order the colour-matched Star male body for my lilac RS Long head, but not before I get a new flash unit. I don't think I can cope with photography in the winter or indoors without one.

As for company shots, I find most of them don't do justice to most sculpts. I wish more companies would post photos of blank heads.

Thank you vevet! I'm happy you like it. Sky is one of my favourite characters in their story. Some day, I want to make a doll of him, too. I like 5Stardoll Kevin, and I think he'd be a good sculpt for Sky. Maybe some time next year....

I hope IMPL has a Christmas event too. Eventually I want 3 bodies from IMPL. Zach needs his own body, and I need bodies for my RS Long head and my Migidoll Jean head.

 

Well, for the record, Rhas-Khan was originally going to be the Orpheus sculpt by Batchix, which I'd seen when she was at DollNorth as a prototype back in 2012 and I was smitten. Batchix had some issues getting the sculpts done from her getting ill to having the master mould melt at the casting place and needing another to be sent to China. Then I found out they were not offered in the grey skin of the prototype (which he needed to be) and while Batchix was kind enough to offer to do a special order for me in grey, I couldn't afford it. He also ended up shorter than I thought he'd be and wouldn't work with the SoulDoll Rail who is his lover, Eilian. And so the search began for Rhas-Khan with really restrictive parameters (non-limited, taller than 52cm but less than 60cm, ideally between 55-58cm, grey skin, elf ears and bonus points for dreaming/sleeping eyes).

Then it was making the impulse purchase of Nassano (Sugarble naga Adian) during an Xmas event while saving for Dollism. And once I bought Nassano, a few months later somebody put their Lume Blaze in zombie skin up on the MP and he was Dolf, Nassano's partner, and going for a great price so I bought him. And more Dollism saving. And then an impulse purchase at Dollism of Shae-Lin (DearMine Oskar), which was within my Dollism spending money, but if I hadn't bought him, I'd have purchased Rhas-Khan when I got home with the cash left over. And now Leeke has this sale for their OD line and the Il vampire is perfect for Shae-Lin's lover, Zehuti-sen.

*sigh* There is apparently nothing quite so fluid as doll plans. Hopefully, sometime in 2015 I'll be able to purchase Rhas-Khan *crosses fingers*. I've waited this long to bring him home and we all know the doll hobby is most definitely about the waiting game.

 

Savage: Thank you ^_^ (blushed) When I get a new doll my hubby and I work on it, he helps me 75% of the time. We're a team LOL those skills aren't full mine.

Sapphire: Kevin will match very well! I like him, good choice... 3 bodies? OMG! LOL I need another Idol body, but next time I may ask DDE. I promise me this year to finish all dolls and to complete the bodyless characters... this year was too short LOL now I have an extra Nelson head and one extra Idol head too. I'm sure I will get an Idol body but I'm not sure to keep the extra Nelson head, maybe I will custom it and put in sale in the future.

 

Vevet: Which Nelson head do you have for the extra? The special one right? I really hope your guy arrives okay and soon. Also your nelson is looking amazing! I seriously am amazed at how good impldoll sculpts are. The face ups they have never show their true justice. I'm learning this more and more. It's also making me ache for my plaice just to see him and everything XD

 

Iron_Dog it sounds like Rhas-Khan's journey home is quite the saga so far. I do hope you're able to get him some time next year! My doll plans aren't quite that fluid, but both Zach's body and the DM Narsha girl on my wish list (Élise & Gabriel's other daughter) have been bumped by other doll opportunities.

vevet, I understand! 2015 is the year I've promised myself that I'm going to finish the dolls who need bodies and that I won't have any more floating heads by the end of 2015. Now, we'll see if I can stick to that plan!

 

SapphireStargazer: Yeah, Rhas-Khan's journey has been epic so far. Kind of fitting I suppose as he is a god and they almost demand epic levels of story-telling because of said godhood. While I say this now *rolls eyes at self*, I have no plans for other dolls to enter my resin army aside from the one I'm about to order from Leeke and both Rhas-Khan and Eilian. Of course, way back when I first started this little addiction, I didn't plan on having more than 2 dolls (current total is 26 *sigh*)....

 

Okay, so I've noticed something weird about my Idol boys and I'm hoping someone else can shed some light on this. I purchased Gabriel & Zach's shared body in 2013, and the feet and ankles on that body are two separate pieces (foot and ankle/top of foot). With Aubrey's body, purchased in 2014, each of his feet are just a single piece. So, I'm wondering if IMPL has changed the Idol body slightly or if the two-piece foot and ankle was just something they did for the gladiator boys.


Iron_Dog, it does seem rather fitting that a god has a godlike story regarding his epic journey home! lol we've all been there in the dolly plans department, I think. I currently only have two dolls on my wish list (not including bodies for my floating heads), but 2015 is a new year, so we'll see how it goes...

 

I love everyone's photos! I would love to get a idol boy but I was wondering if anyone has a comparison picture of an sd resinsoul boy or girl with the idol doll?

 

SapphireStargazer: I'll be quite pleased with myself if I manage to keep my active dolls-to-come-home list to just Rhas-Khan and Eilian. I'm not going to hold my breath on it because, well, y'know, dolls. I'm also going to guess that as soon as I get the email that my order has been accepted and Leeke has my money, Impl will announce an awesome Xmas event that will make me cry because I don't have a money tree on my balcony and can't take advantage of the event.

 

Reslie, I should be able to do that in a week or so. I'm getting a 70cm RS male body in a trade, so I can certainly line it up with my boys for you. Also, if you wanted to see what the 68cm RS female body would look like next to an Idol, the RS 68cm female has roughly the same proportions as Dollmore Model F dolls. I've got quite a few photos in my flickr of Gabriel with my DM Model girl. If you're looking for a match for your Dai on the 58cm body though, I'm thinking the Idol boys (at 72cm) would look huge next to her! I think [MENTION=57022]Grouchy Gnome[/MENTION] has a Dai. Maybe she can shed some light on the size difference.

Iron_Dog, I know right? Aside from the bodies, I'll be pleased with myself if I can keep my dolls-to-come list down to just Annie (DM Narsha) and Sky (5Stardoll Kevin). haha maybe we need to start a support group to keep ourselves relatively on-track. I kind of do hope IMPL has an event for Christmas, yet in a way I kind of hope they don't.... I know, that makes little sense, but y'know...dolls.

 

SapphireStargazer and Reslie: You are in luck. I have a Dai and a 68cm Chun. If you can wait until this evening, I absolutely PROMISE to take a crappy photo of both girls with my Raoul (Joshua) standing between them. I WILL post it by tonight (sometime) although I can not promise that the girls will be dressed, wigged, etc.....or that the picture will be any good.
(Sapphire knows what kind of a non-photographer I am.) However, I DO have the dolls and I will be happy to (TRY) to get you a picture.

Grouchy Gnome, I've sent you a PM. I'm dying to see Raoul, you know! I didn't mean to impose regarding the pictures, but I was almost positive you had a RS Dai. I hope you don't mind that I mentioned it. Even though it was Reslie who asked for the photo, I'm sure it'll be beneficial for a lot of us, and I really must thank you for being willing to do it. I, personally, have no dolls in the 60cm range. Most of mine are either HUGE or 44cm and under. The only one I have who's in-between is Reid, my Souldoll Lester (52cm), and he's headless at the moment because of his head being at the faceup artist. Anyway, please know that I do appreciate your efforts and I'm really looking forward to seeing your Raoul at last.


My boys decided to take their fur blanket for a test drive. Aubrey has claimed his first victim is settling in nicely (read: taking over the place) and certainly isn't shy about telling everyone what he wants. He has refused to wear anything but this black silk robe and does not want to borrow any clothes from Gabriel. So, black robe it is. He's also decided Gabriel's chair is now his chair. It seems we may have trouble on our hands.

lol thanks Grouchy Gnome! haha it seems Aubrey can be more than a bit predatory when the mood strikes him. I had fun with that photo shoot. In fact, I'm enjoying these two together in general. When Aubrey isn't busy being dangerous, he likes to snuggle and fits quite nicely into the crook of Zach's arm. I really need to take a photo of them together like that.
Thanks a bunch for the photos! Raoul looks great, as do your girls. It's great to see your Dai next to an Idol. I'm looking at 5Stardoll Kevin, who is 62cm (4cm taller than RS Dai) and your photo now gives me some idea of the height difference between him and the Idol boys. The proportions of the 68cm RS girls really do look close to the proportions of the DM Model girls, although I think Chun may have a bigger head than the DM girls do.
I love your Chun's wig, by the way! Also, Zach says he's envious of Raoul's awesome boots. (Aubrey disapproves of Zach having boots like that, but Zach is determined to have his way.)

Iron_Dog, don't you just love it when sites "improve" their interface? Flickr has been going through a constant regime of "improvements" over the past year or so. I think a majority of users aren't too happy about it, but despite the constant stream of protest, they continue on with rolling out their "new experience".

 

Fush: Thank you ^_^ I have both Nelson heads, right now I'm finishing the customization of the non Mohawk head. I plan to custom both and then decide wish one I will keep or if I get another body, but that's not very probable. Is Plaice at home yet?


Sapphire: LOL I promise me last year the same thing and I complete a few dolls, so that's good. Now my plan are... complete or for sale.

Impldoll release Octavia already ... I would like that Impldoll include a blank face pictures of their dolls. Maybe Octavia have a lot of potential but I can not say it... I have no opinion for that girl right now... ... (poker face)

 

I actually like Octavia's face sculpt quite a bit. The way they have her styled, though! The faceup is garish and the peek-a-boob outfit just looks silly as hell. I think she would have great potential if she was purchased blank. I won't be the one to find out, though--- one huge Idol limited woman on layaway is enough for me! I'm not sorry I went for Azalea before Octavia was released--- Azalea is still my favorite Idol female face. I really do think Octavia has an interesting and attractive facial structure under that faceup, though.

Having seen all these blank Tony's on this thread recently (I lurk!) I've decided to wipe the impldoll faceup off my Richard, my Tony - it's too 'glam rock/gothik' and really I'd like something natural looking - I prefer my blank dolls in fact!

 

Actually, I really like Octavia's face. When Impldoll is doing their Christmas event (the only thing which keeps me from ordering Mzzen), maybe I will try to get her head. According to the neck size, it is identical with Iplehouse's SID neck. Maybe it works out...though it would be really nice if they included a blank head shot (and a blank profile shot, too).
Regarding her outfit: Better we forget this. It is rather strange IMO.

 

Vevet: Sadly no not yet. Impldoll is taking their sweet time for some reason lol. I think its because i ordered him in that Special blue color and they must do orders by color or something. Who knows really. I would love to see what the special nelson head looks like when you are done. I had an idea if i ever got a Nelson (I missed out sadly because i was going to order him with Plaice but he sold out) and that was make him into a red and black themed future part machine guy. I would of gotten the gloves too in blank so I could do the coloring similar too.

 

I'm also not so fond with Otavia, surely she would be better blank, again IMPLdoll tends to chose the wrong style to paint their dolls
Anyway she's not a doll which i'm lusting after, even though after seen some piccis of Azalea blank i could regretting not get her.

 

Octavia mold is odd hontesly is too mainly for me, i agree that a natural face-up would have helped to made her shine more but still her mold is a bit off for a female...

elve, you're back! Long time no see! I hope all is well with you. It'll be interesting to see Richard blank and/or with a new faceup. He's in the normal pink resin the same as my Aubrey, right? It's a really beautiful shade, and Tony does look surprisingly good blank (although mine is going to have a faceup eventually).

Ipledreamer, I think there are a few people waiting for the possibility of a Christmas event! I'm hoping they have one because I want to get the body for my RS/IMPL hybrid, and a free head event would just be a great bonus. I agree with you about Octavia. I think she would have a lot of potential, but I would like to see her blank. I don't like her makeup on the promo pictures, and that outfit is...!!! I think you're right and the outfit is best left unmentioned. I agree about the blank head photos. I think all companies should post blank photos of front and profile. That would be so useful.

Just made another payment on my Azalea layaway, and as of this one I'm over halfway paid up. So I guess from what they've said before about their layaway procedure, they're going to start making her at some point soon! Maybe she'll be finished by the time I finally finish the layaway, that would be cool.

yes please! to the blank sculpt photos front and profile. I love when companies do this and it would be great if Impldoll started posting them. Especially with their Idol sculpts--- the sculpts are so nice and yet the faceups they give them tend to be really.... un-subtle, with lots of harsh lines and thick paint and strong color that can make it hard to decide what the face looks like under there. Those faceups really change the look of the head, too--- a good example is the difference between Azalea's "A" face with the very light, subtle faceup and then the "B" look with the dark, thickly painted lips. It doesn't even look like it's completely the same features!

blueboy57- Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles = total childhood nostalgia. I can still remember the whole theme song from the old Saturday morning cartoon. Me and my brother loved that show. Dollsize TMNT shirts are awesome!

 

They're actually dog/cat shirts. So in the back they're shorter since the image would go on the animals back and short side would be on the belly. The big neck is awesome cause I don't have to take their heads off. And I found them at 5 Below for $4. I got XS and they were still a little oversized. Even on the RS girl who is a little bigger. I bet they'd fit the idol dolls better.

It's too bad we don't have that store in Canada. I would get a shirt for my dog. She loves wearing little clothes and has quite a collection of t-shirts. And yes...they probably would be a great fit for the Idols or even for the new Star man body. hehehe I can see my Zach in the "Here to Party" shirt.

bad news: they will not deliver my package till next week because the Thanksgiving day, even when they had the package since a week ago... This weekend will be perfect to make face-ups because I will not be busy... too bad, they will not be in home.

About Octavia wig well i noticed that ImplDoll use always the same styles of wigs for their promo pics, maybe they should choose a better style that suit better head sculpt next time...

Well, my guys are here!!!! I'm happy. I saw that IMPLDOLL sent the package at Nov 13 and it arrives at Nov 17, that was very fast, IMPLDOLL did his job... TNT Delivery was the problem here. 2 weeks in their offices, 'cause they wanted... not any other reason. TNT are evil.


I'm extremely happy with the guys! I will post the B.O. latter with the details ^_^.

 

My Idol body should be shipping around the 15th! I'm very excited! I placed the order in July and finished the layaway in October, so it's been a long time coming. I'm also dying to see how accurate the custom-mix-color will be. I mean really, I don't think it'll be anything other than perfect because I sent them a headcap to match and that's the whole point of the custom-mix-color service, but still, it'll be interesting to at least see how different the resin feels next to the head it's for....

 

SwivelChair: I'm very curious to see that too.

Wow, congratulations. I really like him, and his faceup. I'm glad to see that the body poses so well. I've been wanting an Iplehouse doll to sew for, but they don't pose that great and that turns me off. I may have to get one of these instead.

 

thessalyrose: Thank you, you're right. They are getting very similar. IMO Iplehouse have a better look aesthetically, but I think Impldoll bodies pose 10 times better. Iplehouse bodies pose-ability can be very limited in comparative. I think a hybrid may be very interesting project.

I was impressed with Star construction, but I think Idol's body features makes him a masterpiece.

SwivelChair, I'm using the colour-matching service too, but I'm getting Star v.1 male body in a fantasy colour (Resinsoul lilac), matched to my RS Long head. I sent them a foot for resin sample. I'll be very interested to hear about your experience with the colour-matching service. At least I know with mine, the resin textures should be comparable. RS resin is silky-smooth, as is IMPL's resin. I'm curious to see how they do with the colour.

 

I'd be interested to see the results of the colour matching. I might end up sending them a sample of one of my other dolls to see if I can get the darker grey I need.

 

Vevet, I was thinking about a hybrid, too! Does the Star body pose well? All the Iplehouse sculpts I like are SIDs, which would probably work better on the Star body.

 

thessalyrose: I definitely would do that too, SID faces are so good. Star body is very good poser for sure, Idol is better; that extra joint in the shoulder is a goodie. SID body are very similar to STAR body I think the SID outfits may fit perfectly, and the good thing is that IMPLDOLL may match the color.
