Very excited, after a long wait, my choco Nicole 3.0 is ordered. The company face up is just beautiful. Hope she is as lovely in real life. Now to think up names for the two girls.

After giving up bjd for three years and selling all my dolls and their clothes I have bought my first bjd again. The journey begins with a Fepe.

 

Did you order the latest girl? The kimono she has on in the company pictures was just gorgeous but there were only 3 and very expensive.

 

Congrats, @Walkergirl ! I was also mostly out of the hobby until an iMda pulled me back in. What skin tone did you get? Did you get any of the company accessories, or are you pulling it all together from different stores?

 

Yes I ordered the latest girl and got her a wig. She will be in normal skin tone! I’ve tried the other tones before but always fall back into the NS tone. Everything else I’m hoping to build up and start collecting again clothing. Bjd clothing usually is very expensive so I’m used to having to spend money to get them custom clothes.

Does anyone have advice on what to buy for 3.0 clothing? I’m searching Etsy for some cute items.

About Imda 3.0 clothing, I usually make them by myself with Yo-SD sewing patterns I find on Etsy or I draft them.
Which style are you looking for ?
On Etsy, I really love Tirin & Katten dresses.

 

I was too late for the kimono but I’ll keep an eye out for what other clothing comes out in the future. Honestly I’m stalking Etsy for any clothing in yosd size that could work for these girls at the 3.0 size. I’m horrible at sewing so I have to buy everything online. I like very casual clothing on dolls and want her to look comfy and cozy.

 

YoSD clothes totally fit these girls, with the caveat that their torsos are about half an inch longer than the average Yo. And their butts are thicker, so anything super tight-fitting around the hips and/or super short in the torso doesn't really work.

My favourite on etsy is the store Moritime, they resell from a few seamstresses who specifically make iMda 3.0 dresses. Legenddoll also carries a few brands that either use an iMda 3.0 as a model, or can be asked to adjust the size. I've also had my girl fit into Nine9Style clothes without too much of a problem (hoodies and skirts, I'm hesitant to try pants).

 

I think Boto's Works (on Legend Doll) do clothing that fits Imda 3. I've ordered a few items but not yet received my Imda 3 in order to try them on. Once I do I'll post how the fitting is.

I’d love to know how all the clothing looks and fits on them. I’ve always just dressed my girls in dresses and leggings so pants is an interesting idea.

 

Ohhh my God! Imda will be my financial ruin. Cute little vampire versions of Gian and Modigli are coming. I'm in love with Gian and I'm really thinking about using the funds I have saved for Manon on her. Her little ears and teeth...I can't sit this one out...I love everything about her, which is crazy because the regular version of Gian has never been on my list of maybes.

 

I’m having g a hard time choosing between the two girls being released! How are you guys choosing which one you like better when both are so cute?! I’ve been dying for a vampire doll since I first started the hobby.

@Walkergirl - For me, I already have Modigli and while the vampire version is cute I don't really need her. I saw her first and thought she was nice, but that feeling of omg...she has to come home didn't happen. With Gian it was an instant feeling of omg I gotta have her! My birthday is next month and I told my husband that I found the gift he's getting me! Showed her to him and he agreed! I'm always looking at the cute vampire girls that Advillage have, but never really considered taking the plunge. I adore Imda dolls so there is no question here.

Oooh they're ALL vampires, not just the one-offs? Hmmm... I may have to consider Modigli. I have this little demonlet character I never thought I'd get as an iMda, but if it has teefs...

Would you all use the 16 or 18mm eyes for your IMDA 3.0 girls? I'm guessing if I want her to have a smaller eye (that shows more of the white part) it would be the 16mm. Does anyone have photo examples I can reference since I'm going to be getting my girl enchanted doll eyes and would only like to buy one pair lol.

 

@Lelite - ohh no, now you have me worried they are one-offs! Please don't be. I really really want Gian.

@Walkergirl - I use the eyes that came with my girlies when they were released. I think they are 16mm, but I don't remember. Here's my Modigli with her eyes. She still needs a faceup.

@Stokiaci I'm not sure! The only advertisements up are for one-offs, but Modigli has an open mouth where the teefs are poking out, and the regular Modigli has a mouth that's fully closed, I think. So maybe the basic ones will be toothy too?

@Walkergirl the size depends on the sculpt. I think most of them are 16mm girls, some of the more realistic ones might even be 14s? Elodie is 18mm. I have an Amellia (my Leonie) and I had a pair of 18s that were supposed to be her old character's eyes and they didn't even fit in the eyewell.

I actually have a pair of Enchanted Doll eyes as her primary pair:

These are the "wide irises" version, 16mm eyes with 9.3mm irises (~normal 18mm eye iris size). I think Amellia's eyes are a bit larger than Fepe's though, so the normal 16mm iris size is probably a better choice.

Here's Amellia with my custom 18mm mystics, which had a smaller iris (8mm):

The iris size was fine, but as you can see, the eyes gap because they just don't fit in the eyewells all the way.

 

@Stokiaci OMG OMG OMG they put up the teaser for the little vamps! They're selling two versions of Modigli and Gian this time - vampire and regular!

 

Omg! I'm sooo excited! The one-offs are adorable as well. I'm definitely getting Vampire Gian. I think I'll get a fullset, the wig, eyes, and dress. I'm still debating on resin color. I'm not sure if I want her in the normal or white. I have a Imda 1.7cm Jane in white...and it's very white. It would be appropriate for a little vamp girl, but I'm kinda leaning towards normal because I don't have a girlie in that resin.

Man, I feel like Imda knows how to spoil us.

 

iMda usually does 3 resin colors for the 3.0's, wondering if it's going to go white, cream-normal, and normal?

I'm not sure if I can swing a full doll. I'm waiting on a 2.2 Angelique and a choco Elodie (or Coco... I haven't decided yet). But if the vampy heads are available in cream-normal by themselves, that would be mighty tempting...

 

There's a normal and cream-normal? I didn't know that. What's the difference between them? Does anyone happen to have a comparison?

Yeah, I noticed it was an option about a year ago! It seems to be a little bit more pink-hued compared to the stark white. I haven't seen it in person though, this is just from seeing the sample photos.

Also eek, the boy bodies are available again... Man oh man I'm going to have to think about this. I really need a shell for this character, who is actually a possessed doll. But I also want the Petite Angelique, plus a few Iple boys aaaaa....

And haha, my Amellia is also tawny! I kinda wish it was the default skin option, I always find the "normal" skins in the doll hobby so pale... And I'm super pale myself!

 

Does anyone know how much the one off girls usually end up final bidding at?

 

@Lelite - Sounds like it could be a pretty color for a vampire. I don't have an Imda boy, but they definitely would suit your character! The only doll I have on my wishlist is Imda Manon. I'm still waiting for her to be released. I love that Imda frequently re-releases their dolls and I don't have to worry about searching the secondhand market for them. Tawny is one my favorite resins of all my dolls. It's perfect for Amellia!

@Walkergirl - I don't think I've ever seen it posted before, but I don't really follow the one offs.

I've went ahead and ordered Vampire Gian. I got her in cream-normal. I can't wait to see what it looks like in person. I also ordered the fist and heart hands, wig and eyes. I didn't get the outfit. I couldn't believe how much it cost... I'd rather make my own or get something more affordable.

 

I really wish I got back into bjd when they were selling those wing head attachments. So much regret cause I want them now.

 

does anyone know if any other companies make a resin match for imdc's tawny skin? That also work as a 1/6 body for their heads... I'm struggling to pick between vampire Gian and Modigli so wanna order a head of one of them to hybrid later on As idk if imda does layaways

 

iMda used to be affiliated with Soom, and I think their tawny resins still match? The issue with tawny is that it's actually a range of colors, with no two batches being quite the same. It even says so on the sales page. So you could even buy a tawny body straight from iMda two months later, and it might not match the head.

They also don't do layaways, I think someone here asked. They used to, when they were still linked with Soom. That being said, I'd be shocked if we never saw the vampires again. iMda usually likes to re-release the heads every 1-2 years. I can't guarantee it obviously but it just seems like a lot of work for a one and done.

 

That’s why I buy the body’s and heads in ns so I can have a bunch of heads with one body. I wonder what goes into the process of creating tawny skin.

 

hmm good to know.. I think I'm gonna go with getting Modigli in Tawny and then just a Gian head in NS.. I'll figure out her body at a later date when I can afford it

 

so update ended up getting both heads with faceups, one in cream normal and one in tawny skin I'm going to attempt to dye match a body for the tawny one, already have a cheaper one I saw on legendoll picked out! now to just wait for my next paycheque lol

does anyone know like the kinda min-max range of neck circumference that works for imda heads? On the site they just say 6cm and I've been heavily eyeing this Myou body which has a 6.5cm neck that I'm hoping would work

 

I have a Myou girl but I think she's on the original pear body. I believe they have the same neck size. I can do a head swap for you.

I only have Modigli and Amelia to test this on. I'm sure they will all fit the same size, hopefully.

After a long long long wait my Imda Nicole in choco 3.0 arrived. I adore her and have spent a happy day trying out different eyes, wigs, clothes and shoes. She's an absolute poppet. Comment from my son's Fiancé "I didn't think they could look more haunted but I was wrong". In fairness I did show a pic of said doll naked and without eyes. Anyway lets ignore her. Although think I like the 3.0 size better than the 2.2. It has more weight and think the face up is better (but they are different girls). Additionally the stringing on my 3.0 is way better. 2.2 girl's head flops forward all the time and she clicks into different shapes almost constantly. A restring is definitely needed but I'm not sure I'm up to it. Perhaps I'll take her to the upcoming Manchester doll com and see if anyone could help.

Re clothing Boto's Works clothing from Legend Doll or direct from Boto's works fits (check with them when ordering though just to be safe). Also found a fabulous little site which does knitted jackets and cloth skirts etc on Etsy called NataliTiShop. The shorter smaller jackets fit Imda 2.2 and the longer (I have an amazing striped one) fits Imda 3.0. Skirts only fit 2.2 though. Trousers don't fit either. (Again prob better to double check with Natalia re sizing. A message costs nothing).

@strawberry_parade - I'm happy to help. Here are some photos. I'm sorry it took me a few days. I think the hybrid would work nicely. The up and down movement of her head was limited and the side to side movement was pretty good. Overall, the proportions are nice.

I def think I'll go with this hybrid as I'm not too concerned on head movement (if it does bother me I might mod in the future) also good to see the difference between the resin colours too! I'm gonna have to dye a body to match the tawny resin now I know what I'm getting with my next paycheck lol

 

I have been on a little hiatus - how is everyone? Back in April 2023 I ordered this adorable outfit by Tirin & Katten from the iMda Dorothy rerelease. It stayed in my doll supplies drawer until today. Simonne ended up being the one to wear it and I think it suits her perfectly

 

Ah, lookit her pouty little face! And those ears are so cute, somehow the raw/rustic edges just make them that much more adorable.

I'm trying to talk myself into buying a beautiful dress (for Leonie for now, but it would be going to her future sister) but it's kinda pricey and I'm a little worried that it might not fit... Long shot, but does anyone happen to own any clothes by Emily's Doll Fashion?

She really looks like an updated Amellia with a little bit of Angelique thrown in. The option for a closed or open mouth is really intriguing. If I had to choose between Amellia or Judith, I'd probably pick Judith, but since I already have my Amellia, I don't think I'm going to get Judith... Unless I just grab a head?

 

Anyone thinking of getting Coco? Or her limited items? I'm really tempted by a head and the dress but I know I set my heart on a choco Elodie (which, knowing my luck, will be available in tawny only...)

Also I bought a 1.7 girl for ease of travel, which Leonie promptly appropriated as HER doll, thank you very much.

 

I had a think about Coco but am really still totally in love with my Nicole still so will stick with her. The outfit is interesting but I really don't like the central lilly of the valley emblem patch on the front of the bodice and spoils it a bit for me.

 

Oh gosh, same! That patch is the reason I didn't immediately jump on it, and every time I look at it, I love the under-dress and bodice and get to the patch and go ...eeeehhh...

I actually picked out either Coco or Elodie for my next doll, the only reason I ended up swinging to Elodie was because she can take 18mm eyes. I have a pair of custom-made eyes I bought for a character from Mr. Mystic in like 2013 that I reaaallly want to fit to a doll...

 

Anyone with a 3.0 Elodie who can tell me if her head is smaller or bigger than the other 3.0 girls? I usually buy 8-9 wigs for my Amellia (they're a little big, but I like the way they sit and fit over a silicone wig cap). Her current one is a 7-8 because I was suggested to try that size instead and IMO it's just too tight over a wig cap. I was gonna pre-buy a wig for Elodie but I don't know if I should get a 7-8 or an 8-9...

 

Did anyone order the new cute Mia? I was seriously tempted because he (!) would've been perfect for a character of mine, but I had just gotten a nice camera to take photos of my dolls, so I think I will have to get him on the next go-around.
