What a coincidence ! I actually just snagged Jane (1.7 ) off YJA (comes with certificate, I don't want bootlegs ) .... Guess I won't be purchasing their 2.6 unless I really can't resist....... Which company's clothes fit imda 1.7? And are they considered 1/12, 1/6 or 1/8 size?
1/8, I believe. There are dress patterns on the Soom Imda website, but I am reluctant to do too much sewing till I can try on.
Thanks fjm123, now I just need to find a wig and shoes for Jane Smudge tempted me, I'm positive I will purchase their 2.6 by the end of the week lol
Guess who arrived this morning, exactly 60 days after the end of the pre-order?! And the clever little girl even managed to dodge customs. I am waiting till I have time to enjoy opening her box - Sophy, my papillon, slipped a disc at the weekend and things are still a bit fraught, as I dropped everything to care for her. I need to clear up the accumulated mess and make the house comfortable to live and work in before unwrapping Anne - at the moment there is so much chaos I may put her down and lose her! She has rather taken me by surprise - I wasn't really expecting her for another few weeks from experience waiting for other dolls.
Oh wow! How exciting. I am sorry to hear about Sophy’s injury. I do hope she gets better soon. Once everything settles down and you have a chance, please share photos of your Anne. I will now be checking the status of my little Anne. ^__^
@fjm123 Hope Sophy gets better soon and can't wait to hear your thoughts about Anne! My Jane arrived but I have no clothes for her or wig Took some test photos since she is my first BJD (excuse the nakedness) Spoiler She's so cute! I can't wait to take some proper pictures of her once I get her some outfits and wigs!
What a darling! I am still saving opening my box until I can really relax and enjoy her. Sophy is much better, but needs careful watching to prevent her overdoing things - anyone who has nursed a dog with a spinal injury or a poorly toddler will know how difficult that can be!
Congratulations! She is so very pretty. I am looking forward to seeing more pics of her ^__^ I am happy to hear that Sophy is on the mend, but I can only imagine how very difficult it must be to keep her from re-injurying herself doing what she would normally do. I survived twin toddlers (barely) and it is exhausting to be vigilant to all dangers-actual and potential- at all times. I oftened wished I had an extra set of eyes in the back of my head and an extra set of arms. LOL. I do hope she continues to improve and that the day that you are able to relax and enjoy your box opening of Anne is not too far off. I just received an email from Soom that my Anne shipped out, so I am very excited with anticipation to receive her. I should have had eyes and a wig ready for her, but I honestly didn't expect her until closer to the holidays. And when fjm123 said she received hers, I was so busy with other things that I haven't had a chance to prepare. Lol. Maybe the Imda cutie Gato I ordered will be coming soon too! *does a little happy dance*.
Anne has arrived! I'm not sure that it's quite love yet but I'll wait until I have her dressed. I'm not keen on how they do the lips. She had two little insets that are painted black - close up it looks like she has rotten teeth!
1.7 dolls are really adoreble. I‘m waiting for jane avaliable to order, maybe next year...... And also what I knew is there are some azone xs(the smallest size at 1/6 azone doll) clothes can fit on 1.7 very well but it should be short style, and 1.7 can use their shoes as well. There is my anne, I call her cookie. Her shoes is azone size actually. Sorry I just have screenshot on my laptop to upload to flickr.
Oh Cookie is the sweetest! Thank you for the tip on the azone shoes fitting the 1.7. I will look into them. My Anne arrived yesterday. I was so excited, I didn't take a single deboxing photo. I know what you mean about it not being love at first sight. I wasn't crazy about the two tones of blushing used on her face (maybe it's because she is white that it looks so obvious, but once the wig and eyes are in it's not as distracting) and I was more than a little disappointed with my Anne's eyelashes. They looked too long and splayed out like flower petals....I did trim the inside hairs a bit to make them look a little better until I am able to find suitable lashes and replace them. My Lucy, that I purchased here on Marketplace, had her lashes replaced by her previous owner. I wonder if she arrived with terrible lashes too? I am having trouble linking my photo from flickr....once I figure it out I will post a pic.
ammm I'm not sure if it can be called custom......U know there are so many face-up artists available to order their face-up. So I just found one of them which I like her style very much. But I have no obvious requirements, just asked her to draw however she like. lol
Yes, that's what I meant (not done by Neo Angel Region) some one you commissioned, whether you had a concept for her or not. I love it, love the lower lashes, she looks so much different from the ones I've gotten from Soom. It makes her very unique iMda at the pumpkin patch by Melissa, on Flickr
Ahahaha thx!! I told the face-up artist already about your comment she's quite happy with that. I felt the face-up from soom is quite nice as well. It's always simple but symbolic. It's special as well to some extent if u compare with other brands. And...OMG u really have a big group of 1.7 dolls....It's the sweetest pic here!!!
Yes, here is a pic of my Sleepy Ann in TTYA Lati sized clothes, a little short in the leg but looks cute anyway: iMda Sleepy Anne by Melissa, on Flickr
Thanks Melissa, she looks really cute. I will have to try and dig out my clothes. We've just moved and everything is in boxes still!
Thanks for sharing, @Keri ! She's super sweet. I love the dress fabric; looks like one of those elusive Japanese Liberty prints which I'm not sure have anything to do with Liberty besides being a similar quality but which are so cute and great for tiny clothes. I received my first 1.7 recently, Lucy; she's my 2nd BJD whose sculpt is called Lucy which is weird considering I only have a small handfull BJDs. Either way, she's so tiny I could hardly believe it. (Can you tell I'm not used to small BJDs?) The dress is a fitted Blythe T-shirt, and the shoes are Blythe size too. She doesn't have hair yet; there's work to be done. (Next to her is my 3.0 Gian.)
Jenny looks very cute in her Hello Kitty dress and sandals. Eva, your Lucy looks so adorable with her little head wrap. I have found that middie size clothes fit well on the 1.7. I know what you mean about work to be done, I also need to make a wig for my Anne. I had purchased a wig for her, but it seems too heavy for her little head and features.
I’m having trouble printing SOOM patterns from my Apple computer. Can someone guide me on the correct settings? Their instructions are for Windows, and when I print the patterns from my MacBook, they’re either huge or teeny weeny ( depending on how I’ve fiddled with the settings)! I’d really appreciate some help. What am i doing wrong?
I assume you're referring to this one? http://imdadoll.com/english/imda_dresspattern/imda17/pattern/basic/imda17_basic.jpg Right-click the pattern --> "Save Image As..." --> "Save" Then locate the image in Finder, double-click it to open (my default app is Preview), then hit Ctrl+P to bring up the print dialog: These settings work for me. If this doesn't help, you could try printing directly from the browser, without saving first. PS: The instructions for Windows look dated; I doubt they're much help to anybody. That said, it's really nice of the iMda guys to provide patterns :-)
There are two 1.7 iMda's available now, Jane and Mary. The outfits were very limited and are sold out already!
I love the those outfits and I saw them just in time too, managed to get one of each color and 2 of the braided style wig
I was at the emergency vet with my dog when they went up but I was lucky and the outfits were still available when I get home. I just got the pink dress and the braided wig and I couldn't pass up Jane with a Sarasoo faceup! Maybe I should get a boy too......
I hope every thing is okay with your pooch. I love that face-up on Jane it's so soft and warm looking, unlike the original one that I have which I love too but sadly I gotta behave. I hope you post lots of pics when she comes, which version do you like for the boy?
That's great the Soom offer free patterns! I didn't know that. The pattern mentioned looks great, do they have a picture of what it looks like made up. I looked at the Neo-angelregion site and can't find the link to all the patterns. Could someone please point me towards a link?
Thanks Nancy. I should have found that. I kept looking at the left side of the page, and totally missed that.
They are a nice size. Talking about size, I read somewhere that Middie Blythe clothes fit them. Is that correct?
There are the same caveats as with all iMda dolls - they tend to have wider hips, narrower shoulders, longer arms and larger hands than most other dolls. So SOME Middie Blythe clothes fit - mainly sleeveless dresses with gathered skirts - but a lot won't.
Thanks, Hilarie. That's good information. I was excited about a whole lot of possibilities of clothing for them, but I would have been disappointed buying them and finding out that they don't fit. I find this size difficult to find clothes for. Any ideas? At the moment my girl wear mostly Pukifee dresses, and they're cute, but slightly short.
Hi there! I'm so happy my anne who names cookie have some new clothes. So I want to share here And a comparing between normal 1/6 bjd and 1.7 if anyone want to know
@YANZZZ she is adorable. I love the pink wig on her, too cute. Who is the little one in the fur suit?
Thank you! The doll in fur suit is from imda as well. He's happychoo Chika. Thank you very much! She's almost my favorite one So I spent a lot of time for styled her. Thank you
I am having so much fun with my Anne now that I have time to play - wiring her was an interesting experience, but well worth it for the improvement in posing. I decided to get her a Timp baby brother, expecting to have to wait for ages for the preorder to come around, but have just seen three versions of Timp are up for preorder. I don't think I can choose between Dubu and Yuja (Jadu looks too grumpy!)... I think Anastasia may find herself with twin siblings!
I stumbled upon photos of Imda 1.7 and fell in love... But on the Soom website they all appear sold out. Anyone knows if they will release new ones or re-release old ones? Or where I could find some, appart from Soom?
Imda 1.7 seem to come up for preorder once or twice or a year on the Soom Imda website. Very occasionally legit ones are listed on here, on eBay and other sites, but beware of recasts - several sellers are offering recast dolls using the original photos etc.
The dolls from the last order period have not been shipped yet but they should be soon. When they start arriving, it is a good time to watch the marketplace. Usually a few incoming dolls get sold for various reasons.
Thank you for your advices Yes, I already spotted some recast (some on very strange skin tone) so I'll be extra cautious.
I'm already got the email from imda which told me delivery information. I think I'll receive my jane around next week.So maybe you can watch the marketplace around these weeks if anyone like to sold? And also imda always bring several 1.7 dolls to doll's related exhibition around different countries with special outfit. If you have any friends there and can help you to buy that's also could be a good choice.
Hi!! I've been lurking around this thread for awhile because I am a massive fan of Imda dolls. Your Anne/Cookie is so cute! I wanted to ask whether you received your Jane? How are you liking her? I ordered Jane too and I am unfortunately not really bonding with her. I think I will be selling her
Oh no... I am sorry to hear that you are not bonding with your Jane. I received mine and I am in love with her. I do know what you mean, though. When I had received my Anne I was disappointed with her faceup and eyelashes. I kept her and planned to send her out for a new faceup in hopes that I would love her. I ended up just changing her wig and that made all the difference. She still needs nicer lashes, but I love her now. Maybe a small change like eyes or wig can be enough to change how you feel about her. WIP- making a new mohair wig for Anne.
I love my Jane's but I understand how you feel. @queenbee, is right! Try some other wigs and eyes and give her a little time. One doll that I didn't think I liked at first turned out to be one of my favorites!
