I don't have a 2.2 to compare (currently kicking myself for not getting the adorable Amelia 2.2 when she was available). Congratulations on your new 1.7 she will ease your wait time. Which version did you get?
Hey, I got a Jane. Here she is in the Alice costume. I'm going to get her lighter eyes so they dont seem like dark holes. I love her proportions. She is too cute!
Now that the preorder event for Mary is over, will they offer a preorder for a different doll? They are still showing Mary as available (and their main photo still shows a doll from May of this year).
They are not showing Mary as available. If you bring up her page, she is sold out. They never show sold out on the main page Before long they will list another doll, but it is hard to predict what size it will be.
I was so shocked to go to dollsoom and see her on shipping...seriously wasn't expecting her before the 3 months would be up on 1/23/17...but here she is a whole month early and officially my last doll of 2016 Soom iMda Mary 1.7 box opening by Melissa, on Flickr
I would love Louie! T^T and Jane, she's listed as sold out ! (unless you're seeing this listing somewhere else? :O)
Here: http://dollsoom.com/eng/shop/item.php?it_id=1483593501 Soom releases one version of one doll at a time. They rarely re-release a version.
THANNK YOUU! ah i see. so.. i will wait until i die for a re-release of the doll i really want from them T^T Would contacting them and begging be an appropriate action to take ...?
You can ask, but I only know of two dolls that were re-released in the same version and those were the first two 3.0's, Modilgli and Gian. They may release a doll with a similar faceup and different outfit.
I finally finished dressing all of my 1.7's in their matching Soom outifts for a new family photo, thought I would share it here... New iMda Gian 2.2 family portrait by Melissa, on Flickr
Wow... What a wonderful set of little ones, too cute. I must get one of those rabbits, he does pull at my heart strings.
I have just placed my order for Anne - I have been waiting for her for a long time! I'm hoping she will get me sewing some of the stash of fabrics and ribbons and lace piling up around the house, although given how tiny she is it may take some time to make much of an impact...
I've been waiting for the 1:7 release! I always get caught out by their short ordering times. I need to try and in visage ther size. It seems like the Alice dress is already sold out though. Which face up did you go for @fjm123?
Basic head, girl body, normal skin and face up C - it looked as if it would be the easiest to enhance a little if necessary. I have already tried out the basic patterns on their website to be sure they are manageable - such a good idea having them there. Does anyone know which shoes fit best? Or, even better, where I can find a pattern to make some in advance?
Thanks for getting me moving! I have the Alice dress, but kicked myself for not ordering the hatter outfit the last time! But I just ordered one now! I think there are only 3 left!
I've just ordered Anne. She'll be my first 1.7. I do have a Timp but I think she'll be leaving soon as she's just too small - although oddly enough, I do have Realpukis and their size is fine! I didn't bother with the outfit as cute as it is, but I did get Alice's shoes as I hate shoe shopping for dolls! @fjm123 where did you find the patterns? I could only see the sold out patterns for the bigger dolls. Does anyone know what size clothing I need to look for? Is it a case of lati yellow fit but in longer lengths?
Here is the 1.7 pattern: iMda Doll 1.7 - A sewing room I found I had to play around a bit after downloading it to get it to print out at the right size. I plan on making a few basics in advance, and then really getting sewing when she arrives.
That is a piece of essential information, Nancy, thanks! Can anyone confirm? I would have been very upset if I had spent hours sewing and nothing fitted!
What eye size do people prefer for the 1.7 dolls, to give a reasonably natural look? Any pics comparing 8mm/10mm?
Hi everyone This is my first time posting here, I'd like to share a picture of my newest girl. (I believe she uses a Neo Angel Region 1.7 body even though she was sold on The Gem)
Congrats on ordering your Anne. I also ordered the basic Anne in cream white with faceup A. I recently purchased a Lucy in normal skin here on marketplace and absolutely adore her. I gave her 10mm ED eyes and they look nice. Middie Blythe clothing is pretty spot on for her. I made her a dress out of the Hanon Doll Sewing book and it fits awesome. The bloomers are modified from the Sarrouel pants from the same book. The nice thing about the book is that it also has patterns for Unoa Lusis (which I also have) so it's a win win for me. The layered skirt is from a middie pattern in The Heartwarming Series Book for Blythe. As far as shoes, I found that the ballerina flats, and maryjanes of Our Generation Mini and Lori fit nicely with socks. Both dolls are available at Target for 9.99. The boots are too wide in the calf, but may look ok with leggings tucked in or chunky socks. The tights from the dolls also fit pretty good on imda 1.7. Thanks Queenbee - I am in the UK so those dolls probably aren't available, but I shall look out for the book. Do Soom usually confirm orders? I had a hiccup setting up my account, and although the payment has gone through and I have a PayPal receipt I cannot find an order number or any other info about my order. I have now set up my account again, but still cannot find a contact email address. I would be so disappointed if I missed out after waiting so long!
I received an email from Soom verifying my order the day I placed it and then several days later I received another email stating the details of my order had been modified- but everything was exactly the same as I when I placed my order. My orders are listed under my orders tab. I also searched for an email in order to contact customer service and I found nothing. There is only a mailing address, phone number and fax number. On my paypal history though, there is a button to contact Soom: [email protected] and on the PayPal receipt it also has Soom's order number for the item I ordered. Try contacting them with your order number via thru Paypal. I hope it gets cleared up* fingers crossed* , that would be terrible if you miss out on her. Best of Luck
I made the same Hanon dress for my Louie girl but with a different twist I added the apron and the sarrouel pants iMda Louie Hanon Doll Sewing Book my Version by Melissa, on Flickr
I always prefer to contact Soom through the Q&A board. Include the paypal transaction ID and order number if you can find it. You usually get an automatic email when you place the order and another email when they verify the payment.
Aw your version is really cute! I usually shy away from large prints but the one you chose looks great! I love the little apron. Did you use elastic in the sleeve casings or did you you gather it and tie off per the instructions. I think the next time I make this dress, I will be using elastic, at least for the Imda. Her little fingers get caught in the tiny pleats and get hung up on the cord used for gathering. I did put socks over her hands to ease her hands in a bit, but they still had trouble getting through smoothly.
Thank you so much, I love the way the apron turned out too, I was worried using that stiff nylon type of fabric. No I did not use elastic, I gathered it too. Those adorable hands are always catching on everything! Drives me crazy. I tried iMda's method of taking the hands off and letting the s-hook rest is the wrist area, which works well if you can get the s-hook off of the hand. I had a really hard time with some of my 1.7's but other ones the s-hook came right off and I rested it in the wrist slipped on the blouse or dress and then pulled the s-hook up with little pliers put the hand back on and it was done When you make the next dress I'd love to see it and what changes you make ^--^
That is an order number! If you remember a password you entered on the order, you can check it on their order status page. Just scroll down past the sign in box.
Reply from Lee - order is all in order (!). They sent a confirmation but I have no trace of it, despite checking all mail boxes. Anyway, huge relief, and I'm glad I paid through PayPal and have the additional record of all the order details that way. Thanks for your help, Nancy - I was really struggling to navigate the Soom site.
Wonderful! I have found that it is best to sign up with a site before I place an order! I like using Q&A boards to communicate since emails sometimes don't make it over the ocean!
Sure thing! I have some other books too, so I will make sure to post which pattern is from which book. If I manage to work up some courage I may try removing the hands and allowing the s-hook to rest in the wrist area as you suggested. In the meantime, I will see if there is another way to get around those little fingers safely by making adjustments to the sleeves. Lol. I am so happy that your order is confirmed. How exciting! Nancy that is a great tip, I will remember that if I need to contact Soom.
Very good tip! I did try, and had even made a note of username and password, but then couldn't get back in. Never mind, it was an impressively swift response from Lee at Soom, and now I can relax and get on with sewing and making. Perhaps not too extensive a wardrobe until I discover who she wants to be, though! I have struggled with dolls who insist on t-shirts and jeans when I want to sew fantasy frocks...
Here is a pic of Lucy in her new wig that I made for her. It is my second attempt at making a wig cap and glueing on the fiber and I am pretty happy with the way it turned out. The part line is the biggest challenge. The little jumper she is wearing is still a work in progress...I will post a pic once it's completed Lucy by gladys, on Flickr
hello here! i'll be soon a happy owner of a lucy, my husband ordered her as gift for our wedding anniversary ... And i want to know what type of shoes can she wear please ?
Thank you, fjm123. I have never made a wig using a weft, so I can't compare. The gluing went pretty good until the part line. That is were I always "get stuck". I made one with alpaca for my Unoa Lusis, and I will be cutting the alpaca off and trying again. I made the head cap too thick and stiff. I also used liquid latex for Lucy's wig cap instead of Mod Podge, which I feel was a better choice. I just need to get a clear liquid latex to use with the white alpaca. The one I have is flesh colored. It didn't matter for the ginger mohair, but it looks obvious on the white alpaca. Hi Elly. Congrats on your incoming Lucy! I had some shoes that fit her foot that I had on hand for Middie Blythe, and I ordered some handmade shoes off of Etsy for her. If you live here in the US, I found that the ballerina flats, and maryjanes of Our Generation Mini and Lori fit nicely with socks. Both dolls are available at Target for 9.99. The boots are too wide in the calf, but may look ok with leggings tucked in or chunky socks. The tights from the dolls also fit pretty good on imda 1.7.
When do you guys think they'll release another 1.7 figure? Currently, they're holding orders for 2.6 but the two that are out don't really look that great imo.. Their heads appear huge
Mary was listed in October 2016, Lucy in January 2017, and Anne in August, so the timings are very variable but seem to be a maximum of 7 months or so. I am now waiting for an Imda Timp as a little brother for Anne...
I like the proportions of the 1.7 the best! Soom does pay attention to customer wishes, so it is good to ask on their Q&A board. If they get enough inquiries about the 1.7 they move one up the line.
Thanks for the info, I miss Anna by ~1 month, if only I got into BJDs then instead of just this week.......... I will ask on their Q&A when I get the chance!! They just updated with Babette heads: It looks adorable!!! And now I kind of want their 2.6 Babette doll... but in the promo pictures, the head just looks huge but maybe it's how the head's tilted? I don't know
I think the 2.2 and 2.6 heads are larger in proportion to the body than the 1.7, and the legs appear to be shorter. The faces are darling, though, and it took a lot of willpower to hold out for Anne. But I had seen photos of Anne and Jane, and had that stab of recognition ("That one!"), which I didn't quite get with the other dolls.
