If this is already a thread please delete Hey guys, I've been looking for lolita patterns for MSD/MINIFEE & YOSD'S. Is there any shops or any tutorials out there that any of you guys know about? If you have a tutorial is it alright for you to show it?
my lolita girl in my avatar wears something which would be simple to sew for smaller dolls, although I bought it from Alices Collections. Lolita style for dolls is more to do with choice of fabric, colours, frills (and more frills) and maybe some modest nice quality lace trim, on what are basically simple shapes. She wears a long sleeve dress which fastens at the back - this would be easy to sew from rectangles, pleated and gathered and frilled appropriately (frills are just gathered strips of fabric). Over the top of the white dress she wears a simple gathered skirt (another rectangle) trimmed with pleats, frills and lace again. Then to give it more the look of a dress, she has a wide corset belt, which fastens with velcro at the back. This belt has a frill round the bottom and matches the skirt, so it looks like a dress - it's got the essential criss-cross ribbon lacing on. Then she has a little 'tippet' or kind of shawl thing which again matches the skirt, so it looks at a glance like a dress bodice. Finally the essential headdress - just a simple rectangle again with rounded corners and trims. Also she wears a stiff net petticoat to give her skirts the necessary 'pouffe' - makes a huge difference to the overall look, and not too hard to achieve - I keep meaning to sew her something else like this but I'm full of good intentions which come to nothing Pink Lady by elve, on Flickr
DollCandy on Etsy sells a lot of MSD lolita patterns. I haven't bought any yet, but they look quite nice. Maybe someone else here has tried them?
I know about dollcandy, I think I got some of there free prints. I'm just like to look around some more you know?
Finding any kind of accurate, up-to-date and current trend lolita fashion for bjds is EXTREMELY difficult it seems T__T it's taken me years to find the few places online that do sell fashionable lolita clothes for bjds, however I have not found any patterns in my searches... My bet would be to get some GLBs with patterns you want in them. Measure the pieces for the pattern and essentially scale them down to fit your dolls, it's something I've been planning to do but haven't had time to try out yet I've also found one or two fairly decent base dress patterns in Simplicity books, however I wouldn't be able to tell you what numbers they are because I forgot to take them with me when I moved
I'm a lolita that sews for both my doll and myself. I have lolita sewing books, (Otome No Sewing is the name) that are in Japanese and I have traced over the pattern outlines in the instructions and made them larger to make a shirt for my msd girl. There's likely some free patterns you could do the same with. GLB are a great way to get ideas of real lolita fashion, but not all of them have dress patterns, so maybe look up which ones have what you're looking for.
In case you haven't found what you were looking for, some Gothic & Lolita bibles feature doll patterns for BJD (vol. 22, 34, 58) You could try searching for the scans online to see if they suit your needs.
WOAH!! really!? I didn't know that! Time to get some gothic lolita bibles. That's really nice to know
Yeah, make sure you check the scans online before you commit to purchasing them though. I am a lolita myself, so of course, most of my dolls will have lolita outfits too (eventually)
If you have any volumes of ゴスロリ(Gosurori), I made a tutorial of how to scale the patterns for doll size: The grid paper is a free download on my website: http://www.doll-candy.com/downloads.html
Chocolate Tsang on Etsy has some great, inexpensive patterns that you can download and print right away. Chocolate's Handmade by ChocolateTsang I definitely recommend making an underskirt from tulle. Using a smaller, gathered rectangle for the top and then adding a couple of progressively larger gathered rectangles will give you nice fullness without much thickness at the waist. Another shop I like to buy patts from is DollyandPaws, but they're on break: 1/4 MSD BJD Unoa Doll Country Romantic Forest Girl Mori Style One Piece Dress with belt set pdf E PATTERN in Japanese and Titles in English They should be back soon, though.
That shop sells patterns stolen from doll books and magazines; I would NOT suggest purchasing from them.
I agree with Doll-Mage. Those patterns are stolen from expensive Japanese magazines and books. Same thing as buying recast dolls.
I haven't purchased any patterns from that shop, but the preview images are all magazine scans (the moiré pattern on the images indicates this), so it's likely the patterns are scanned magazine images as well. It's really upsetting to see how many sales that shop made from stealing other peoples' work. The real books and magazines are affordable and readily available on sites like Hobby Link Japan and Amazon Japan. - DollyBird HobbyLink Japan - Search Results for dollybird - DollyDolly HobbyLink Japan - Search Results for dollydolly ETA: I suggest looking for owner photos of the book contents to see if there are patterns for the doll sizes you own, before you buy; a couple of the older ones I bought have no BJD patterns or very few BJD patterns. (Lots of great Blythe and Momoko patterns, though.)
Peapod doll on Etsy has the wonderful Chang Hsiu Mei pattern books which have MSD patterns as well as YoSD and SD. https://www.etsy.com/shop/Peapoddoll?ref=ss_profile Here's a picture to give you an idea
