Hello DoA! I received a doll head from a friend and gave it a face up but they do not remember what the sculpt name was. Does anyone recognise it? Thank you!
She is cute! Unfortunately, I don't recognize her though! Are there any markings inside the headcap? Sometimes there are names or brand logos.
She reminds me a lot of an old Dollzone Shoyo, I believe that she was an MSD size and had the cute large eyes. Hopefully you can find some kind of markings on her!
No markings unfortunately but I think shes simply too old for them perhaps? I do think she has been ID'd successfully by Angelesk!
I own a DZ Shoyo and am positive that this is not it. The head shape is different and you'd have a DZ headplate (or at least a slot for it) in the head cap.
A view of the inside of the head and head cap could help even if there are no markings, because different companies use different configurations. Seeing any hooks, ledges, grooves, magnets etc. may narrow the search down quite a bit.
I will confirm that this head shape is wrong for older DZ. I don't have a Shoyo, but I do have a Raphael and have handled several other sculpts owned by a friend. This is too round and "normal shaped" if that makes sense. The head would also definitely have an oval indent for the head plate.
Oh! thank you for more info, I will upload a couple more images then, perhaps that will help. The headplate seems to also have two slots for horn/animal ear magnets.
Yes! You're totally right, I'm not sure how I could have forgotten about the "lip" on the headcap. She's certainly not a Shoyo!
Can also confirm that is not an old DZ head. (I had two in 2008, I believe they had a DZ plate on the headback)
So, the only doll I remember seeing a head cap like that on was listed on eBay as an Elfdoll sculpt, and I know several of their dolls have mouths very similar to that. However, having never handled one myself and not being super familiar with their sculpts, that's as close as my guesses can get. Whichever sculpt you compare her to, though, try to get a good look at the ears! These are pretty distinctive in shape!
I'm pretty sure this is a Fantasy Doll Charlotte! I painted one for a friend way back in 2011 and after doing some digging I'm like 99% sure that's her. She has such a sweet smile.
Looking at your painted head (which is beautiful btw!) it looks very similar, especially the tear duct area. I think you got it right! Thank you so much
