Hey all! this is kind of random but since its the off topic chat I figured it'd be fine.. Some nights I get really wistful and nostalgic and begin daydreaming about living in the pages of an I-spy book. I have so many fond childhood memories of checking them out at my schools library and spending warm afternoons curled up on a bean-bag just marveling over the pictures... I honestly believe that my love of all things miniature came from pouring over those pages. Some of my favorites were I Spy Treasure Hunt ( loved that it had a connected story/ setting), I Spy Spooky Night, and I Spy Fantasy. I've loved them for so long and have always thought that if I couldn't actually live in the pictures myself that Id design Doll Dioramas so that I could enjoy them vicariously through my dolls. So I guess the point of this thread is to ask have you all ever tried to cultivate an I-Spy-esque aesthetic in your doll photos? ( please show me if you have!) do you have a favorite I-spy scene you'd like to recreate? ( or just your favorite scene I'm not picky and kinda just want to talk i-spy)
oh what a great idea! I also loved the i-spy books. this is making me want to go to the library and check them out again. if you end up doing an i-spy set I would love to see the pictures. I liked any of the scenes with tiny lights, and I have a vauge recollection of a scene shot in afternoon sunlight with dust motes floating through it. I guess the lighting made the biggest impression on me.
That's such a cool one!! It might be it! Poking through his website was fun, the behind the scenes shots give an interesting perspective on his work. Now I'm feeling all inspired and I want to rummage for old windows...
