I've been wanting to make my girls custom wigs since I received them, and I recently finished my first one. My goal was to make it so it didn't shed too much, and make a nice, simple side-part hairstyle.
I made wefts, so that helped me glue less hair onto the cap, and the wig doesn't shed much, but making the part proved to be the most difficult aspect of the process. I'd love to hear your critiques on the overall look of the wig, styling advice, and any advice you have for making the part (or on anything).
I'm already excited to make my next wig, and I would love to incorporate your critiques into that process.
      Thank you! :)

    2. Woahhh, wig making is always a skill I respect! You did a great job :) if anything the only critique I have is that the part rests too far up on the hairline but I think that can be easily fixed with positioning!

    3. Wow! This wig looks really great! You did a great job! I wish I knew how to make wigs too! I spend so much money buying custom wigs ._. that would be much easier if I could make my own! You really did a great job! Is this alpaca fur? The wig stands greatly on your doll's head! For a first job it's almost perfect! The hairline is the hardest part to make and yours looks great!

    4. Wow! Thank you both! It is made of alpaca. :) I'll probably start my second wig tomorrow, and keep practicing.

    5. This looks great! the part looks good and natural.

    10. Thank you!

    12. The part looks good, and it looks like you did well getting a nice, realistic volume of hair on the wig-- thick but not TOO thick. All in all I would say it's a great success especially for a first wig project! My only critique would be that it would be more flattering to your doll's face and look even more realistic if the hairline was a little further down on the forehead/not quite so far back. Overall you did a fantastic job though

    13. Not bad for your first try. You at least got the surface aesthetic right.

    14. It looks amazing for your first wig! I would just repostition it.

    15. You made a great work! I am doing wiggs for my dolls too, and I know that is really hard work to do it well. Your wig is fantastic, very natural. Did you buy mohair in this colour or made it by yourself?

    16. Thank you! I used alpaca hair for the fiber, and this was its natural color. I also have some white alpaca fiber, and I'm thinking of dying it. :)

    17. Very nice! Would not have guessed it was your first wig!

    19. It's very good! I would also recommend making the hairline slightly lower though.
