Looking good! There's a great place called the Digital Photography School (it's online and free) and they teach a lot of things like the rule of thirds, contrast, how to do manual settings etc. I learned everything I know there, and it's great for starting out in photography! ^_^
You pretty much said was i was going to say. I agree that the rule of thirds, contrast are important things to learn in general.
Looks great! The fun of digital photography is you can experiment as much as you want. May I suggest angling and some higher or lower perspective shots? It will give my dynamics to your photos.
point and shot I guess I don't know what DSLR is ....lol...sorry I'm just don't know anything about cameras ..I'm just hoping with each new camera I get I try to figure it out....One of these days
I really like the first image of your BJD. For the second and third one, like the posters above have said, rule of thirds would help it out XD Basically you should move your doll off to the left or right and not have it just centered. It will help with the composition.
aside from having a gorgeous doll, the pictures are nice and sharp, clear, which is great. so many good pictures are ruined by being out of focus. going to skip commenting on the composition although i especially like pic #1 in composition terms. random tip you may already know: become familiar with how to change your ISO and use manual settings and focus rather than automatic ones. once i figured out these things my pictures became much improved (the ones taken with my Canon and not my iPhone, that is)....
