Hi there, I'm Jack, a nonbinary person from Oregon. I'm very new to the BJD hobby having landed here from falling down the rabbit hole of customizing dolls. My first experiences with BJDs was actually way back in the early 2000's in highschool due to a classmate's love of Chobits, and her showing off her Volks Chii doll. At the time I thought it was incredibly cool. So here I am starting to dip my toes into a hobby I thought was really cool from the start. I love high fantasy dolls and I'm looking forwards to turning my first doll into a half elf rogue.
Welcome! Wow, pretty cool that you had a friend with the chobits doll way back when! I'm about your age I suppose. I also trace my first seeds of the hobby back to about 2004 when I saw a volks guy printed in a doll collecting magazine in a book store. I hope you have a lot of fun here and with your first doll! Creating original characters and customizing to your preferences is always really fun I think.
Thanks! I hope so too, I'm planning on making everything for her, between wig and clothes to doing her hair and face up. And I agree, it's really fun to see your doll transform into your character.
Absolutely agree. Everyone has such lovely dolls, it's really nice to see how much love and attention each unique doll has.
