Hello friends! I’m an engineer living out in the countryside in my little fairytale home with low canopy trees, a moss lawn, and a big flowering crop garden. I’m what some folks call a lolita fashion lifestyler, meaning I fill my life with beautiful frills, cute things, and victorian inspiration. I love all things magic and fantastical, so I always wanted to get into BJD and create a little world of dreamy dolls. I deal with chronic illness and in recent times I got into doll collecting as a way to express my love of fashion & style when I am too ill to get all dressed up myself. I started with Rainbow High & Monster High, but this year I decided to take the plunge and transition to BJD. I love Volks Super Dollfies especially for their soft aesthetics and gentle faces. My dream doll is the Moi Meme Moitie collab super dollfie. My favorite thing about BJD so far is everyone sharing their dolls’ stories and creating little worlds for them. I’m a novelist at heart and love seeing everyone express their creativity. I tend to lurk but I absolutely love the photo stories gallery and keep coming back to read more. Sorry if I don’t post much, I tend not to say much unless I feel like I can provide something informative. It’s so wonderful to meet you all & I look forward to sharing with you all of my doll adventures!
Hello fellow southerner, writer, and chronically ill doll lover, nice to meet you! You'll find that people are nice and very helpful if you have any questions. Do you only plan on owning vinyl dolls, or are you going to get some resin ones too down the road?
Welcome, welcome!!! =waves like mad= Honestly, that home sounds delightful!! I bet your dollies are right at home~
I'm a lolita too! but maybe not a life styler because I have a chronic illness too so I don't get dressed up except for meet ups. I bet your house will be great for taking pictures of your BJDs! I love BJDs for the reason I can dress them up when I'm too tired for it my self. I'm fairly new I just joined last year. you can message me if you want to talk about BJDs or Lolita.
Thanks yall, its so wonderful to meet everyone! Very validating too to see that there are other chronic illness folks out here. I’ll definitely use some of my home decor elements and my garden in future photos! :3 I actually have a Fairyland littlefee order in progress right now! I can’t wait to see her
Hello! It's always interesting to meet fellow engineers in a hobby many wouldn't associate with us I love the image of your Victorian fairy home and definitely look forward to seeing posts of your dolls with such a lovely background, if you decide to do so. Before I found out which doll I truly wanted as my first, the MMM Super Dollfie nearly stole my heart as well. I truly wish you luck in finding one!!
Wow your home sounds lovely! I’m not in Alabama though I am in southern TN. It’s nice to see other southern doll collectors! Hope you have a great time here
