Naomicamlux submitted a new tutorial: How to remove faceup safely and quickly. Read more about this tutorial here...
I think this has false information Quote: " Resin, when in contact with cleaner, no matter what type (thinner, brush cleaner, acetone, rubbing alcohol), can be damaged. When the resin is damaged, it will clouds up and looks like there’s a fine, thin layer of white cast on top of the resin." This doesn't seem accurate to me and might scare people that experience clouding, which is actually normal. The typical clouding during faceup removal is not damage at all, it is just leftover sealant. It means the sealant has not been completely removed. The only reason your way doesn't have clouding is because you are kind of overdoing it by basically soaking the face in a solvent that breaks it down in one go. If it was actual damage, it would be like the material partially melts, get soft, and deform.
I stated very clearly that “when resin is damaged, it will clouds up” which means, if in contact with thinner for too long and is damaged, will result in clouding. I have had the mistake of overcleaning my own dolls in the past, resulted in the clouding effect on the surface of the resin that cannot be removed normally and require sanding. That type of clouding is not the same as thinner and spray sealant’s residue. That’s why I state in the post that this way is the quick and safe way to remove faceup, all in one go and minimize as much contact time as possible. I’m sorry that the information doesn’t seem accurate to you, I can clear my statements up by elaborating on it more, but the information according to my experiences, is not false.
