New Hello people o/ I bought a second hand SDGr girl body on Mandarake and it came with both heel legs and flat feet. I want to change the legs that came with the body, but it came without manual ;_; I tried to find videos or pics online, but didn't find anything specific of SDGr Girl and couldn't understand it just looking at how it is now (the elastic cord makes a loop on the hip peace or something O.O) Can somene help me?
New Hi! I'm not sure how helpful this will be, but I found a section in a Volks Instruction manual that shows how to change SD16 legs but I believe it should be very similar for SDGr. I can't figure out how to upload an image here, but DM me and I'd be happy to email it over or send you more pages from this instruction manual. Also, this old blog post may be helpful.
New SD16 and SDGrG use completely different leg systems: the SD16 body has separate strings for the knees down. The SD16 body also only has a 2-part torso and is strung like other Volks bodies apart from the body elastic ending at the knees, whereas the GrG body has a 3-part torso and the elastic has to pass through the hip piece in a particular way. You'll want the Volks manual that comes with GrG bodies Putting on the flat foot legs will require a longer length of elastic unless the elastic is already overly long and secured in the doll's head with a cable tie, as is the case for some GrG bodies.
New Thank you, I could change the legs using the blog. It's so damn complicate >___< WHYYYYY VOLKS????? Well, I let her with two knots at the end of the elastic: one to use the flat feet; one to use heel feet. As she just have heel shoes for now, I'll leave heel feet. If I change to flat, I'll just undo the other knot.
New Some dollmakers use more complicated stringing systems than others. Switch's HD65 body also requires a crossover in the torso. There are pages in Volks's Super Dollfie guidebook for restringing SDGrG with the heel legs or flat foot legs, but I don't have the right lighting to photograph them right now. Volks also sell the booklet for ¥110 via their JP/international webstore. I can't speak for Volks USA as I don't live in the US.
