How Old Are You (continued... 2)

SAME! I always jokingly refer to myself as the old lady in our local BJD group.

 

Currently 25, soon to be 26. I think my interest started around 2014-2015. Looking back im shocked I was able to save enough from my fast food job to get a doll.

 

I’m 19 I learned and became interested in the hobby when I was in middle school when I was around 14 lol. I’ve always loved dolls and I loved toy customizing when I was a really little kid so bjds were like a whole new world of customization for me!

 

They say a lady never reveals her age, however I'll admit to being over 70 and under 90 and I'm trying to downsize, but then I see another little face calling to me, so what's a gal to do??

This hobby keeps me young!

 

21! My first resin BJD was actually a birthday present.

 

I turn 52 next month and will absolutely be using that as an excuse to look over the In Stock shops!

I am 28! I got interested in BJDs in 2022. I have always been a crafter and really enjoy making my girls clothes!

 

I am an oldtimer! 48. My first Bjd was a Dollzone Yuu that I bought at an anime convention around 2010-ish. I don’t have him any more, but I do think of him very fondly.

 

25 here, got into BJDs in concept due to Rozen Maiden at around 10, and managed to get an Impldoll Avery with birthday money at 15.

 

I'm currently 38. I started collecting back in 05. Wow that was a long time ago

 

I'm 29, been interested in dolls since I was born. Started getting interested in bjds around 2018. Purchased my first and have been getting bjds since 2019

 

Currently 50. Age is just a number. As long as the soul can dream and play, it cannot grow old.

 

Currently 47, collecting bjd since 2008 even if i was out of the hobby for few years. I've been collecting Barbies from a young age until i started being a Bjd addict ^^

25 here, ive been in the community for only 2 years though! Im thankful the community is so nice and Ive made a few friends as well.

 

I'm turning 30 in August and also bought myself a birthday doll already. Hey, I work hard for a reason! I didn't get my first BJD until 2018, but I've been in my local doll community since my high school days. I'm lucky to have a great local group!

 

I turned 34 in January. I think I got my first doll in 2013?! Time sure flies...

 

I'm 32. I discovered BJDs and joined the forums in 2008, when I was 16. Ah, that's half my life ago! I don't think I would have thought back then that I would still be collecting in my 30s (my parents definitely didn't! Another weird phase, they thought!)

 

i'm turning 33 next week! but i was introduced to the concept of BJDs sometime in the mid-late 00s and fell in love instantly. it's only just this year that i've been able to get my first doll, so that was a looonnng time dream come true!

 

I'm 31 and got my first (and currently only) doll at 18

Im 34. Have only been in the hobby for around two years (have know to BJD since early 2000, but got my first doll last year).

Hi everyone!
I'm 43 years old, and I got my first bjd a little over a year ago, so I'm one of those who started the hobby later.
The reason? I discovered the world of bjds about 3 or 4 years ago, and it took me a long time to save up for my first bjd, which turned out to be a second-hand pukifee that I got for a good price, although in pretty bad condition.
After that I started selling my collection of Barbies and, thanks to that, I already have an SD and an MSD on the way.

 

Hey all! I'm 32 years old. I discovered BJDs when I was 14 (about half a lifetime ago)... but ofc I didn't have a lot of money to spend then as a teenager.

As an adult with a career, however, money comes by a little easier. I bought a SDGR Williams a few months ago, and a DWC-03 and 05 head at the LA Dolpa yesterday!

 

When I first started, just a young thing. Now, I'm probably old enough to be someone's mother on here. Hahahaha.

I love collecting communities because they bring people of all ages together. I am 45 this year, old enough to have seen the Cabbage Patch Craze, which is what started my obsession with dolls actually

 

39 this year (insert melting emoji). I found out about BJDs in late 2000, got my first in 2002. I got busy with life and stuff and things in 2009 and came back to the hobby in late 2022 and things were/are so different!. Dolls are easier to acquire and there are so many more options. Not that I'm making it rain doll parts around here, but it's a totally different game now that I'm an adult with adult money than when I was still in highschool... I can remember hoping to add a doll to my collection every other year or so, if I was lucky. Now it's not nearly as hard to get something if I really want it.

 

I remember wanting those as a kid. They still make 'em, but with plastic faces that aren't the same. BJDs are always beautiful, though.

 

I am 36 years old and I joined the BJD hobby when I was 23 years old, the truth is that it brings me many good things so I am grateful to have found this exciting world.

 

I am 36, but not for much longer, will be 37 in about 17 days? I think I counted right? xD I got my first bjd while I was at Uni. I learnt about them from my friend there Before that though I've collected dolls in general for as long as I can remember. I've always loved dolls. I still have the first 'not a toy' doll I fell in love with when I was 8. A cheap porcelain thing (its pretty scary honestly) but I loved her. She came with a broken finger and I remember watching my granddad glue it back on. I thought he was so clever and amazing

I'm 41 ad I've been collecting dolls since I was a kid. The first doll's I started to collect was "Gala Barbie" and since then I got like 20 or so because I LOVED them. When I was a teen my younger sister gave them all to a friend of hers and I've never seen them again.

 

I just realized this, but I'm 47 and I have 47 dolls! I discovered the hobby at 28 and got my first doll at 34. I've always collected dolls of all kinds. Currently sharing space with my bjds are a Barbie, several Funko Pops, and some Q-Posket figures.

 

Guess that makes me a very old witch... I'm 61.

 

I'm 21, but I've been obsessed with BJDs since I found out about them when I was ~13

 

I'm 24, and have loved BJDs since I was a teen, but am making sure to collect rather slowly so this hobby is a long term one and sustainable for my wallet at that~ Sometimes it can be hard to fight the want for more dolls and more accessories, but I try to remember I have many more years of collecting ahead of me!

 

I'm 42! I've loved bjds since my 20s though, but I was unable to afford any at the time. I've collected other types of dolls since I was quite young, though.

Laughing to myself.. I’m 67 and about to be 68. Last purchase I am waiting for is PashaPasha XY original. I admit I don’t post all that often anymore, but I’m still making wigs and clothes for my collection. I still have so many ideas that I need to photograph.

 

I'm 35. I just started this hobby last December and bought my first doll last month.

So far, I enjoy being part of this online community. It's welcoming and full of knowledgeable people

 

32 and got my first doll last year as a birthday gift to myself! I feel like I broke the dam and now that I finally caved and bought my first one, I'm already wanted to buy a replacement body and buy another doll for another character I have LOL

 

I am 36. Browsing through this threads makes me a lot more comfortable to be in a doll collecting hobby at my age. The ironie with this feeling is I wasn't able to afford the hobby at a younger age at all. So only started with it in 2019.

 

I'm 31. I have always loved resin dolls, but wasn't able to own any when I was younger, due to financial reasons. I started collecting off topic dolls instead. A couple years ago, I was finally able to purchase my first volks doll, which has always been a dream of mine. I'm glad there's many other people my age here who are also just starting to collect them. Luckily, I have never had a feeling that I'm too young or old to collect dolls. Instead my fear is how addicting they are.
