For this Game, describe that special moment, incident, or circumstances when you came to or suddenly had this startling realization! (No discussion, which would belong in the General Discussion thread, no debating or practical/grim/serious answers!) This game is for fun! *************************************** When you forget what you named some of them
When I have no space to put them! Then it's time to buy more storage. Reminds me that I need to get another cabinet, lol!
When you start developing "special math" for the tinies - 28cm = 1/4 doll, pukipuki's = 1/8 doll each!
When you're buying a new house, and the first thing you think of is "Where are the dolls going to go?" >_>;
When you haven't touched one or more of your dolls in a week, I think that would be too many. I have to have time to spend with each one at least once a week. I'm at that point now with 12 full dolls.
When you open your front door and are nearly knocked out cold from the smell of resin. or When you lose one of your actual children in the massive hoard of dolls. orrrr When your neighbors start referring to you as "That scary doll lady across the street". or, or, orrrrrrr When the local post office, without even looking at the address, just knows what house certain boxes go to just by noting the size/shape. Ok, I'm done.
When you run out of room and seriously consider moving your bed out of your bedroom and into another room just so you can have more room to display your dolls.
When you realise you need to sell some so you fit the new baby that you're pregnant with in the house
When you accidentally call one of your actual children or your pets one of your dolls names...but I think having too many dolls would be the opposite of a problem as well! I can just...make a special doll room. I wouldn't mind being the crazy doll lady. Or crazy cat lady.
When you start feeling guilty about not spending enough time with them, because there are so many it's overwhelming trying to keep all of their names/personalities/stories straight. I have too many.
According to my earlier statement I now have too many dolls. 18 SD with another 15 heads as alternate characters. I forgot one was in the bathroom. eeks
When I struggle to fit them in my closet (as they are in their boxes). Which is exactly the point I've reached. All 18 dolls fit in there just right and even then it becomes a full-body work out to maneuver some of them out. I'm glad I don't have any more on my wishlist!
When you're house hunting and having an extra room for your dolls becomes a priority... ...when that room becomes too small for all of your dolls and their clothes, accessories, and furniture >_>
When your second dresser is completely full of doll stuff and half of your walk in closest is doll stuff and you start getting rid of your own clothes to make room for more doll stuff. :/
When you have to check your list of dolls to remember what dolls you own. When you have to check (and count) your list of dolls to remember how many dolls you own. And then you have to think about whether or not the list is up to date, and you're pretty sure it's not. When you've long since run out of storage space for your dolls, and keep spending time trawling Craiglist for cabinets and trying to figure out how you can convince your partner to let you get another one (or two). And this despite the fact that you have a dedicated "doll room/library" that's more doll room than library. When the question "What doll(s) are you bringing to ____?" makes you cringe. Because there are too many options.
When you find one you forgot you had...but...really that's just a sign of temporary forgetfulness not really due to an excess of numbers...right? RIGHT!
When you have a visual on a mountain made in boxes which your doll lay inside and somehow you start to think where you should put new arrivals and the moment you try to find a doll. Heavy exercise you know, hahaha!
When you can't remember who's COA goes with what doll because you own too many of the same company to keep track. When one of the first words your child said clearly was "doll!" When you buy a doll body to put a floating head on and it's the wrong one. Solution? Buy another doll head to fit the new body. Doll boxes line your walk in closet, but who cares if the clothes fit in there?
When you buy a new doll, only to realize that you already own it and forgot. When an emergency comes up and you need to evacuate, but realize you can't even save half of them. When you are afraid of causing an avalanche. I only have a few though, so hopefully I never run into this.
When you count how many you have and think about how many more you want and your head starts spinning Thank goodness I'm mainly a tiny collector!
When you go on vacation it's a whole mathematical process to choose who comes with you, and when you arrive you spend more time photographing dolls than actually adventuring the surroundings.
New criteria for me: when I get serious about how I want to display them and start answering the hard questions like ‘what is your ideal look for these guys, the ‘bookshelf criminal‘ deer-in-the-headlights lineup you have them in now or something a little more spacious but with maybe oh, I dunno...just FEWER DOLLS?!?’ (also me....’ouchhhhhh, harsh!’ ) Truth hurts, doll fam!
