Low quality images, high quality excitement Since I don't get to do this very often, I thought, ah, why not. Here are some potato images of a little box opening/ hybrid try out with second hand Switch Soseo head from the marketplace. It's my almost birthday, and I'm feeling very grateful to have a whole blank new fellow here to usher in the new year of my terrible life. the body is new to me as well. I very recently traded for it. Link Friend inside Link I get to do the inaugural release from sealed packaging, very decadent Link There he be Link Link He is a vision of perfection and leaves absolutely nothing to be desired, in my opinion. Honestly having been in the hobby forever, sometimes if feels a bit odd when you open them this way and they just don't surprise you at all, they are exactly as you imagined. I have bought a lot of truly *goblorn looking dolls who left me going a bit hmmm (but naturally I usually loved them anyway). Please bear in mind that color representation has been awful in these photos but anyway, here he is miraculously working on the Resinsoul bigger body (70cm). The resin colors are passable though definitely not right. There are many reasons all this is miraculous to me, namely I did no research and operated off pipe dreams and old memories (as usual). I did get so anxious that this powder beige head would be incompatible that I bought an additional secondhand switch head in a different color... Extreme fear of disappointment right now. I am not proud, but maybe they will both work somehow! I'm looking forward to meeting the other one too. Link Mmm good enough Link Link So as you can at least tell, (mind you the Resinsoul body is somewhat mellowed and has some uneven yellowing additionally) it's workable. Faceup will distract I think. And perhaps dark hair if I can scrounge some up. Anyway, pretty much on par with everyone else around here these days The neck on resinsoul is smaller than the head could handle but mobility and appearance are pretty darn good, I'm pleased. (He does not look up well, but other head posing is good) Anyhow, a very happy day for me here. I used to have large guys in my earlier days and have been moving towards lighter, smaller 1/3 now, because of my pain and difficulty wielding them for adventures. But I have to say, I am really pleased at how light weight the Resinsoul body is. I have shorter guys who feel heavier. I'm confident he weighs little enough that I'll be able to drag him on a photo excursion, which is very important to me. Thanks for reading and trying to share my joy, or whatever very excited to work on him. *Goblorn: like a goblin. It is a good made up word and fun to say.
He looks absolutely amazing! The feeling I get from him is also different from his Milktea Rose version, like... softer or something. Honestly, this sculpt deserves more love, so I'm hoping to see more of your boy in the future.
Congratulations on your beautiful boy! That's totally what I consider an acceptable resin match-faceup should absolutely take care of it. And he's young enough looking that I really like the slender body with him.
The resin colors look nicely together and so do the proportions. The head looks lovely with this slender build, he's beautiful already, thank you for sharing Sorry just to confirm this is Switch Powder Beige and Resinsoul NS?
@Novalyna yes, the head is powder beige, made in 2022, and the body is resinsoul normal from 2020 according to the previous owner. In actuality the head is currently more pink and a little darker. My older switch head (Haji:R) is also darker even though it's not as pink anymore. So I don't think they age into each other perfectly because switch is a little bit darker. But like I said, it's ok depending on what you plan to do I think. I agree, the proportions are nice, as long as you like a very slim guy. Anyway I hope that's helpful! Thank you @Niel honestly I think there are so many different faceup examples on the switch website already, not to mention owner pics, and he always looks good, its pretty wonderful I do think this was my favorite switch sculpt of all time, can't believe I finally have him! Thank you @Isabeau yeah I'm just going to do as usual, not the right way, but the easy way, and do a high contrast faceup to trick the camera a bit . some people are very slim forever too. I think I may have kind of a bias. I don't prefer big muscles and my father was always very tall and thin, so it seems normal to me for older characters too.
Another beautiful boy added to your home :3 He's gorgeous! I'm glad his sculpt lived up to your expectations. Soseo looks like he has a ton of potential. It is pretty rare to be fully prepared unless you bought a doll after seeing one at a meetup. Been there... What kind of look are going for with him?
Thank you @nyaaain it's nice to get something fresh. I already painted him today it was a joy. I could paint that sculpt over and over, there are definitely so many directions you could take it! I got the idea in my head that he could be an old character, Raynor. Raynor was my second doll but the first one I really was in love with. I sold off the last version around 2016(?) And had started missing him again. He was always Dimitri's good friend, older, more human it's been a long time, and the world and Dimitri changed too, so I just have to tumble into it. There will probably be pictures soon...
This is a hybrid that hadn't occurred to me at all and it looks amazing! I do love me a good hybrid. ♥ Congrats on your new boy! I look forward to seeing more pictures of him styled! ...now excuse me while I do a bit of head swapping of my own to see if my Hwayeon looks good on this body.
