Hong Kong Dollism Plus 7 (7-8/07/2012)

Jun 21, 2012

    1. Hi, there's no thread for this event, so I thought, why not to start one? :D

Here's the thread about this event in News subforum.

Let's chat :DDD Who's going? Who already attended dollism plus in hong kong in previous years? Can anyone share usefull tips and infos about attending dollism plus for the newbies like me who never was on dollpa outside thier local area? Is there any kind of special rules or traditions one should know about?

    2. I'm going! This'll be my first Dollism as well. :D

    3. I'm going too, as a vendor. :)
From my past experience as a foreigner and a non-Chinese speaker, you might find it a bit difficult to communicate. But don't worry. Doll language is universal, lol. Many Chinese vendors will try their best to communicate with you even in hand signs. I was very impressed by how nice they were.

They have great display too. Some items on display are already purchased by pre-order before doll event date. But you can get some items if they have in stock. Just don't be shy to ask.

Some vendors accept both HKD and CNY currency.

Entrance ticket/guidebook is available at Dollheart shop and also at registration table with a few $ different. I heard that this year there are 2 versions: with and without lottery ticket. (Pls correct me if I'm wrong.)

Transportation: MTR and taxi. There is free shutter bus service from MTR Kowloon Bay Station to event hall. But it's quite a long walk to shutter bus stop. Not so healthy walk if you have big luggages. You have to walk through a shopping mall. I was almost lost in the first year but thanks to rows of dolly ppl, I manage to follow them. lol

Hope my share can be useful. :)

    4. delgadina, I used to drool over pictures from big asian dollpas, I almost cant belive I'll be finally attending one \*____*/
Rudy, thank you so much for informative reply!

    5. I cant wait for the event! Hope to see everyone there! :)

    6. Me and my friend attending for this event for the first. Looking forward for it to get broke. XD

    7. Went for HKDP last year too and it was an amazing experience! Just being there in a huge flood of dolly collectors! ^^ but there's very little info released for this year, though.. I wonder why!

Rudy yup there are 2 versions of the entry booklet, one with and one without the lottery ticket ^^

    8. I wonder if joining lottery is completely useless for absolutely-no-chinese speaker? Or the process is hand-language-friendly? =)

    9. messymessness Thanks for your confirmation. Wish every1 good luck with the lottery. :)

karmade I remember last year announcement and on-stage activity including lottery was done in Chinese. But some lucky winners (from Switch raffle, if I'm not wrong) are foreigner. So, language might not be user-friendly but you can always ask fellow dolly ppl nearby to help you with the hearing. They were sweet and very helpful ppl. ;)
