Thanks for the replies everyone. They were interesting to read. As it is I highly doubt Volks will be going anywhere anytime soon and I'm still excited to see what they release. Probably because I'm still new in the hobby I don't mind seeing re-releases and hope they do some of other dolls down the road.

I've really been wanting a DD lately and Lucy is starting to grow on me. My biggest problem is staining since I'm horrible about keeping my dolls in their outfits for long periods of time.

 

Staining is annoying, but it's not as bad as you might think from the groans you hear. It's treatable with benzoyl peroxide based zit cream (yes, zit cream), so if you're aware of the potential, check her periodically if she's in something dark, and have some zit cream on hand you'll generally be okay.

The biggest thing about staining for me is that some dark fabrics stain and some don't, so the fact that doll clothes are rarely labeled with fabric type gets irritating. What I've taken to doing is taking either a new outfit or new fabric and stuffing a spare DD hand in between the folds before sticking my girls in it. This way I know ahead of time how it'll react to DD outer vinyl, but if it does stain I'm not out too much money--or, perhaps more importantly, photographable DD time!

 

Ah yes, I heard that some zit creams (Haha who knew) could help to remove stains. So if I do get one I'll have plenty on hand.

Nabeerain I think it was mentioned earlier that he was an F-49. And I agree he is sooooo lovely.

I am so thrilled with Volks' creativeness in recent Dolpas including this one! The range of outfits is amazing, there is something for almost everyone! My biggest problem is I can't afford to buy as many outfits as I would like!

I'm one of those people who's grail doll is a Luna! Every dolpa I get so excited with the thought that this dolpa could be a re-release of her, I love the anticipation I feel waiting to find out what doll will be available! Of course, it isn't Luna but I know that someday it will be and I have that to look forward to and dream of! How could I not be happy about that?!

You definitely need to go to Japan to do it yourself, I loved the whole process even if I didn't speak the language and can't wait to do it again.

I think their FCS line is better than last year. Though currently I have no plans to FCS except for the Gr Body.

 

Awww yeah. Loving the new outfit sets for girls, it's great how many pieces Volks' "school uniform"-type sets always include - multiple layers, socks, headgear, ribbons...the SD uniforms are esp. cute.

Sorry to hear about their troubles. yea, I've noticed their upped focus on DDs in the last couple years. That's not a bad thing, Dollfie Dreams are super cute, but if the focus on their beautiful classic-style dolls were reduced as a result that would be unfortunate.

And, just saw Yo Ken and Mika, their faces are adorable! Style reminds me of the newer Yo-tenshis...

yes zit cream usually works to remove stains from DD, but sometimes it leaves weird residue and can make the dolls shiny in weird ways that are hard to get rid of. I have had a few stains magically appear on my DDdy Yoko and I was soooo scared that I'd have to get her a new body, but I got some remove-zit from twinpines.com and after 2 treatments her stains were not noticeable at all. its a bit different from zit cream and is make specifically to restore vinyl dolls.

AerynAerie Yup, shes a SD13 Mimi. She is so pretty and really doesnt get enough love.

I'm quite bummed that the super cute Yo Mika has to be a Tenshi thus Sato-only. Maybe I'll get her 3rd or 4th hand someday...

 

Oh dear. I'm more ogling the outfits than the dolls this time. Though I kinda feel that there is more DD stuff than usual.

 

I have got my volks news... Loooooooooooooooooooool ! No new mold... not sure to have Una at 18:00 ... i am not interest by Mika and ken... XD ! I prefered to go back in Hollidays in my country for two weeks ^^ !

I am glad there are others wondering if SD16 Megu is the same sculpt as SD16 Kira...^-^
I haven´t yet checked my Kira in comparison but I have looked at the photos a couple of times and I am very sure it´s the exact mold. The darker eyeslashes and the different painting of the eyesbrows were may suggest a slightly different eye-area but I think it´s really just due to the styling.
And as she´s part of the "four sisters" I think Volks will be keeping the "same headmold" feature for them up in the SD16 line, too.

I have SD16 kira and it is the same mold... No new mold for this dollpa and only 2 dolls Oo ! I will don't spare my time and my money for nothing XD (and lost my money in train) ! DD doesn't interesting me...

 

Your feeling was exactly what some owners felt when Yo-SD Alice was released in USA later and was much easier to obtain. It was originally Japan release only, the event for her was expensive, and Y!J price was high.............then later, she was released in larger quantity for USA. I do not blame you for feeling this way. I can understand people who hold such feelings.

Wow, there are a ton of cute clothes this Dolpa! Maid outfits, school uniforms, steampunk style . . . I haven't wanted so many Dolpa outfits in ages.

The DD are super tempting too, I can't decide which one to try for! I have a DDS body incoming that Lucy could use, but I love the full set and extra outfit of Haruka too.

I'm surprised there are no boys this time around, but SD16 Megu is quite a beauty. Though of the resin I'd have to say that F-49 boy modeling clothes is what drew my attention most. xD

 

My head just exploded Yo Mika a dream doll becoming real thank you god!!!!!!

 

To anyone with the Volks News Vol. 47: is there any mention ANYWHERE in the guide book about these optional SD16 hands?

Anthony, the website for Megu says her set includes the papers for ordering optional parts オーナー様限定販売オプションパーツご注文用紙 only available for owners who buy her.

I'm squinting at Riventiana's scans this page in particular talks about the hands in the center lower bubble but cannot...read...*dies* don't know if those optional parts include the shoulders, hands, or both.

Surely these hands will show up on the aftermarket as well...

 

Were there anymore pictures of F-49? Is the boy modeling the gray outfit a new FCS, too?

 

If you look at the outfits they state who is modeling them. ^^ (Figured people knew, but I like pointing out the obvious xD) I am unsure which "Gray outfit" you are talking about, but one of the school boy outfits is done by a F-49. (Which is gray xD)

A F-49 is also modeling the blue SDGr/SD17B kimono. I think that is all the pictures of F-49 unless I am wrong! XD

Still blows my mind how different two of the same molds can be lol.

FYI, Volks has officially announced the updated version of SD16 shoulder and elbow parts for Megu.
The cover pieces on the shoulders have been removed. New elbows are claimed to enable better posing.

Thank you for all the news and updates. (_ _) Does it say anything about the new size? Will the new shoulders narrower, wider, or the exact same width as the old one?

 

Just confirming from my Volks News, as byouyuuken said, there will be an order form for the new hands packaged in the box with Megu when you buy her It looks too like the elbows and shoulders aren't option parts, they are what will actually come on the doll. Volks News says it's a new variation on the SD16 body.

The more I look at Megu the more I love her. She is so graceful and her eye shape is lovely. Maybe it's the face up or the wig but this mold appeals to me more than when she was Kira. As is often the case, customization can really change your mind about a beautifully executed doll.

 

Does anyone know when the yo ken and mikas are coming out or how they are going to be available?

 

Tenshi are Sato only limiteds that can only be purchased in person at a Tenshi no Sato event. They did once do a release of Yuki and Yuh as a preorder, but you still had to go in person to Sato to place the order and have a Japanese mailing address to receive the dolls. These guys are prob not for preorder.

 

Speaking of optional parts, the Tenshi no Sato Fair page is saying something about new parts for the FCS system! *___* What can it be? Personally I'm hoping for new body parts but do these look like new heads to anyone? (can't identify...)

 

They look like an F-26 and Amakusa, though the Amakusa is prob wrong. I'm not really familiar with the newer SD13ish boy FCS heads so it could be one of them.

 

The male looks like the new F-49 and the female looks like a F-26. I think it's too early in the year for new head molds, since they release new molds during the Sato Fair in the Fall, right?

 

Yeah, those are current Sato heads, not new ones. I think it's so great that the F-50 looks like Amakusa! :3

YES! This is the main reason I decided to wait on Full Choice. I am hoping that by some miracle we will have new bodies for sumika.

 

This so much! I hope Volks realizes that they want and need more of my money, so that they'll add SDGR Girl to their FCS lineup! And possibly bring SDGr Boy to VolksUSA as well!

I actually think the F-49 looks more like Amakusa, especially in the photo of the blue kimono in this dolpa's outfit release. He looks more like an older Lucas headmold with a smidge of Amakusa.

And the F-50 looks so much related to Yukinojo in some photos.

 

Right! I guess I would be able to tell them apart by now if I ever browsed the web on something larger than my iPod!
I keep thinking that I need to write to Volks to tell them that I have this money sitting here, waiting for graffiti (and larger!) bodies to become available for all of the heads I love. XD

 

F-26, F-26!!!! Please let Tenshi no Sumika LA get F-26!!!! *freak out here* I have loved the F-26 for so long... add a SDGr body and it's pretty much over. Just wishful thinking~

It's always tough to see things you love and know you'll have to part with the $$$$.

I believe it will be the two DDs, SD16 Megu and YoSD Megu. Those were the ones cited on KL's Facebook page. :3

 

Oh, the Yo Megu will be available here? Awesome! I might just get it in the US instead of at the Dolpa so I don't have to carry her back.
