I got a shipping notice for my Yo-Megu!

Thank you! Volks said to expect shipping in June so I'm super excited she'll be early!
At least I'm assuming it's her and not the extra hands (unless they are sent together) since the UPS notice say 6lbs.

Got my Megu today! Luckily my husband was home to sign for her. He texted "the eagle has landed" to me when she was delivered, lol.

I got lucky yesterday, my neighbor was kind enough to sign the package for me and hand the package to me when i got home i was surprised how long her box was xD

 

Anyone got her SD16 megu yet? I got mine yesterday and found the shoulder joints are different from what's shown in the official pic.

I remembered seeing Volks posted announcement in their blog saying they decided to exclude the cover pieces for aesthetic sake.

aah, thanks a lot for finding the page for me! Honestly I like it without the cover pieces but I was confused since both the Volks USA site and even the pic on the default box show the cover pieces.

 

Oh no Yehna. I know someone was going to order her just because of the new shoulder joints. Yikes! Have you emailed Volks just to make sure they sent you the correct body. I hope they just made a mistake or there are going to be some unhappy people.

 

I noticed on my SD16 Megu (who arrived from Volks USA May 23) that she didn't have the shoulder pieces, but I didn't measure to see if her shoulders were narrower than my older SD16 girls.

Megu does have the new elbows that hold better poses like the Graffiti girl -- which I'm glad for

 

The improvements to the SD16 body sound great! I like the new shoulder (not sure I like it more than the old shoulder but I like the variety of it). The elbows sound like a definite improvement as I love love love the posability of the Graffiti Girl. Congrats to all!

 

I emailed Volks about the change too. According to the site, Volks made that change as an improvement after releasing the pics of SD16 Megu. Megu still got nice round shoulders but no cover pieces. She also got new elbow joints like SDGr. I personally like the change so I don't mind, but Volks USA should have announced it to prevent any confusion.

 

Congrats Yenha! This grown up Megu is lovely! I've never have been a fan of the shoulder caps myself on any of the body scupts, and I really like the look of the shoulders on the SD16 Megu! Personally, I've always thought the original SD16 girl body was a work of art, but Volks is always tinkering. They'll make me happy as long as they don't over tweak the body sculpt and release a woman, perferrably Ruby , in a dark skintone. Come on Volks...bring a lady out of the shadows...and make her in Shadow!!!

I got a reply from Volks confirming that the modification was an official change.

 

My mini-Megu arrived today from WLD! Those who won her will /not/ be disappointed.

Does anyone know when KL is shipping thier dolls. It seems like weeks ago I heard they were getting the dolls but I havent heard any thing else.....congrats to everyone receiving dollies from WLD!!!!!

I know waiting is difficult. I am sure they'll ship your dolls soon.

 

I just got a call from FedEx that my Megu is waiting for me to be picked up! So excited, I am going to run over after work!!

 

I'm seconding how gorgeous the faceup is on big Megu. (I caved and got the last one off the International site.) Those double eyelashes and the white highlights in the lower lashes are amazing.

Dang, Volks!! O_O Stalked the Volks USA site until they opened up for sales for the Kyoto Dolpa 9 stuff, and in less than ten minutes almost everything was gone! My husband had a list of things he wanted but in the end was only able to grab one (brown blazer uniform set), and I only wanted one thing and DID manage to get that (yellow apron set). Not surprised, it's just funny to witness in "person."

 

Oh gosh I totally forgot the Kyoto 9 stuff went up today.
I was considering getting the Sugar Milk Cookie and Strawberry Milk Heart sets for my twins.
Looks like they are sold out

 

It seems there are a lot more people trying out for these stuff than usual. Even the line at their store was really long. This is the first time I failed at getting a couple of the items from VolksUSA.

 

Awe man, I missed out on the two dress sets that I wanted. >_< I was cutting my room mates hair and completely forgot. D'OH!

 

I had them in my cart and when I clicked send....they were not in there, LOL! Oh welll......

 

I missed them too! I stayed up late watching the 4th season of True Blood then over slept. I left for breakfast by the time I got back too late. I am so bummed I really wanted those school girl outfits. Normally I just put in with KL or WLD and I missed the deadline. I guess it just was not meant to be this time.

 

Trying to watch all of it before tomorrows Premier???? LOL I was only able to get one school girl outfit...everything was gone in minutes!!!!

 

I got to get the blue maid outfit for my saber, I wasn't even planning on buying anything

 

lol busted! I've got two more episodes left, then I can watch the premier.
I feel better knowing that even if I remembered I probably would have missed out anyhow. There will always be another Volks outfit, they are really good about that.
I cannot wait for the next Volks event/Dolpa. Please post photos of this set of outfits. I was dying for those shoes but Ebay is crazy high mark up right now.

 

I never heard my cellphone reminder beep, and forgot all about the AE until Sunday, and was sure everything would be gone but surprisingly the two Yo outfits and the pair of Yo shoes I wanted were still available! Actually when I saw the outfit line up that was being released I sort of kicked myself. Wouldn't you know I had just ordered the three Engineer outfits for my guys from Volks Japan last month?! But a good friend made me feel better about jumping the gun by reminding me what a "feeding frenzy" the After Events usually are, and how it's always better to get stuff you reeeeeeally wantwhen you see it on Volks website, instead of paying eBay prices. So my piggy bank is on life support, but my dolls are gonna look great! LOL!

Finally received my Emma (SD16 Megu) today! She's so pretty in reality, but I hate the overly-glossed lips and the black-commas in the mouth corners. T.T I hope Volks would one day stop doing that! Anyway, here's some photos of her with Eva (my Yo Megu)... and a shot of her teeth! XD Too much gloss makes it almost impossible to see in the photo~ >.< And sorry for the nudity~~~~~

 

fransyung I love how you put Megu in short hair. Both big and small Megu.
Big Megu's faceup is delicate. Are those white lines on her lower lashes white paints? I love that. The red lips are eye-catching too!! Maybe those black dots at the corners of her mouth can be painted over into her mouth and her teeth painted white? I mean, my Four Sister is painted that way to create an illusion she is slightly parting her lips. (Sorry for my English. Hope you understand what I'm trying to say.) ^^;

 

fransyung~ I am in agreement about the overly glossed lips and black dots, but you girls are gorgeous. I love them together!!!!

 

Hi Fransyung, Congrats on having Megus on both ends of the spectrum so to speak! I also love how you've put them in matching short and sassy wigs! As for the mouth commas, I'm thinking we should all write a tasteful plea to Volks asking that if they must paint them, please do so in a lighter color. Meanwhile, AreeElf posted some instructions somewhere on how to remove mouth commas using a technique she learned in a Volks class. I've glossed lips and it's not difficult with the right brush and good paint. You could carefully apply a thin coat of semi-gloss over your girl's lips that would cut down the shine a bit. Regardless of what you decide to do, your girls are lovely, and thanks for posting photos of them!

Thanks, everyone! I'm so in love with her! Volks photos didn't do her a lot of justice, I think... I was quite stunned to see her so different with eyes and hair changes. XD

Rudy : Yes, those lower lashes were painted with strands of white hairs! Aren't they gorgeous?

Julidc : I tried, but my hands are not skilled enough and I'm afraid to ruin the lips paint. So I'm going to ask round, see if a skilled artist can edit that mouth! When I'm done, I'll post again for sure!

fransyung: Love both your Megus

julidc: Volks doesn't have a tutorial for removing corner commas. They have a class on faceup enhancement. Sadly what they cover in that class is more for how to enhance lips that are not glossed.

I learned about the corner comma removal from here. If the lips are already glossed it is better to use a lighter shade of thinned acrylic to go over the comma marks and then regloss. If it's glossed using the thinner method to remove the commas usually results in taking some of the underlying lip color off

SD Megu is gorgeous I wish they did the corner marks in a similar color to the yo one.

 

Yeah, Yo Megu has pink commas... T.T

 

I actually really love the stylization of the mouth and the marks. *^^* I think both girls are absolutely gorgeous, eye color is amazing and I wouldn't change a darn thing. Congrats oh having such gorgeous girls in your dolls family!
