Hometown Dolpa Kyoto 11 - March 15, 2015

I really hope I can bring Hijikata home this time. ; A; Though I'm kinda surprised he got more votes than Williams did.

 

OMG. I diligently voted for Hijikata & Okita everyday, but it didn't occur to me that I would have to buy them both at the same time.

Guess I have no choice but to go for both of them, but then again, what are the chances that I will win both anyway? I hope I get at least one of them!

 

Maybe because is it HT Kyoto this dolpa so Hijikata and Okita get to be re-release? I believe Williams and Resnier are very popular!
Okita looks really good, I'm tempted to try for him.

I'm safe from the dolls, but I really want that school desk! Hopefully my hubby can snag me one during the After Event since I'm always at work when they happen~

So are hijikata part of 'the best' selection? If so, I'm very surprised, would have thought that Reisener would have won.

 

I suppose Hijikata may have gotten a lot of votes on "the best" selection, since he's had only one issue, 5 years ago, in March 2010. And for a Kyoto dolpa, the Shensengumi theme makes sense.

A Reisner reissue would be nice, since he's only had 2, and one of them was a cruise issue, very limited. Williams has had 1 SD13 and 2 SD17 issues (2009 cruise, Dec. 2010 dolpa), and I think the Dec. 2010 dolpa issue saturated the market.

Yes, the After Event is for international customers and you can enter the lottery for Hijikata when they put up the web page. Good luck!

beamlette I agree that getting a few of those desks would be great for a classroom diorama! I have 9 girls so that would make a nice size classroom haha~

 

I see Volks has updated the website with the dolls. Looks like Okita has an optional Shinsengumi Haori to buy.

 

If I win Okita, I definitely want that haori. Okita needs his Shinsengumi haori. I really like that bamboo sword too!

There's also a close-up pic of his new muscly forearms. You still can't see how it looks with the rest of his body, but it might look a little funny if the rest of his body is so smooth.

 

I am really hoping to get a Mihmi and Toppi. Hopefully luck is in my favour this go around. I was so saddened to not been able to win a Megu or Lieselotte last time.

 

Well, whenever the lottery hits, I will try for Hijikata. He is so handsome!

Will they have an international lottery like they did last year?

 

On Volks' Twitter and Facebook, it seems like they may have announced that Hijikata won't be available to take home directly from the event, but he'll be delivered in April? That's as far as I can figure from Google translate. If someone with actual Japanese language skills looks at it and has a different interpretation, please share!!!

 

Hijikata and Uzuki are both going to be mailed out. Very low doll release at this dolpa - dolls started running out in the 200's. This poor girl with the number 400 (which is a good number!) was devastated because all of the dolls were sold out. Really not certain what to expect with the after event and lottery. It might just be a small doll release all the way around this time. Hard to predict with Volks.

 

Not much hope for Mihmi in the after sales do you think? X

 

It's really hard to say. I know people were very disappointed at the Dolpa because they had such a low number of dolls. But maybe they are saving extra for the after event and international lottery?

 

FYI as a point of order for this thread's OP, DD Snow Miku is a preorder project that is separate from Kyoto 11. (she wasn't released today. She will come out in 2016).

I read somewhere that Hijikata is 'mail order only'? That means he won't be available at the AE? I'll be really disappointed if that's the case. :/

It's basically almost the same delivery time for Hijikata (he was only on limited pre-orders at Dolpa) the order form said last 10 days of April for the shipment and here they also promised to start to ship him from end of April. Anyway, good luck to everyone who plans to participate in the lottery!

Not long to go now. I really really hope they bring out more dolls than at the event else it's the scalpels market for me to find a Mihmi

I was at Tenshi no Sato for the AE yesterday. Thankfully the sun stayed with us and it turned out to be a sunny day instead of predicted rain. I think there was about 150 people? Both my husband and I got very low numbers. I was thrilled with pulling 34 but he pulled 9! He got Okita for me and he ordered Hijikata for a friend in Tokyo who came to Kyoto Dolpa by night train with a friend (9 hours) only to have the doll sell out just before she got to the front! In truth he was 4th in line and I was about 18. Some numbers hadn't been pulled. When I got up, they still had all the dolls. Most people went after both boys. Hijikata was orders only. Toppi and mihmi were available to buy and when they sold out, they could be ordered. I think orders for mihmi sold out but not toppi. I was tempted to buy Okita and hijikata twins but I passed. It was hard to walk by the ticket counter when the volks staff offered me tickets but I resisted. haha

Yeah, I'm kind of curious about that too. I just entered for Hijikata and Okita. I will be very happy if I win both, but not so happy for my wallet, heh. Good luck and hope you win all three dolls!

The fee is sales tax(8%) and also shipping fee if mail ordering.

I'm always at work when the AE happens, but luckily my husband entered the click-war for me and I got the Classroom Desk Set! I actually had two other friends trying for me as well, but nothing would load for them. I was on break when the event started so I managed to get to the page for the desk, but it kept crashing XD Sent the link to my husband and luck was on his side as it loaded first try, got it in his cart, and managed to get through the slow loads to pay :-D So excited for this to arrive!

I was on the website trying to look at the lottery sheets and the website was sooo slow. I didn't realize it was people trying to buy the other items. It's fantastic that your husband was able to get that desk for you. Those click wars are brutal!

i just woke up really early, couldn't sleep well !
waited for the email!!!! and still no email. its my first time to enter the event so im extra worried i didnt get any email by now.
at least i hope they would send an email anyway win/lose just so ill know the result

 

Alas, they only send an email if you win as far as I know... I haven't gotten one, either.

Granted, given the lack of luck I've had with Mister Okita in every OTHER lottery I've entered to try for him, I can't really say I'm surprised at this attempt being a Fail as well... Fate seems to have decided that I'm just not supposed to have him. Oh well.

Maybe, but it's closing in on 2pm their time... I'd have thought we would have heard something by now if any of us had gotten lucky. 'Could be they're just waiting until later in the day, but that seems a bit cruel.
