I'm really debating putting in for Michele... but I think I really just want his outfit

 

Yay!! Now I just have to wait until the 23rd to enter in for Suzuna!! I hope I get her. Then I have to wait for her outfit to come out too lol XD

Though in Korea I don't know whether Volks would accept application for limited items, but I want to believe (everything). T.T

I am a little new to the doll world so please excuse my ignorance in advance... I am in love with a DDdy Kanu, however, I am begining to realize that I will never find her. So would it be foolish of me not to enter the lottery for Sarsara who is rather cute, but has a shapely bust which is a little much for me. I know you can't tell me what to do with my money; however, does Volks release limited DDs often, or does this only happen once a year? Any info would be appreciated Thanks All!

 

Volks releases DDs with almost every Dolpa. You could also buy a regular DD body from Volks and sell the DD dynamite body if you really like her head mold. A lot of people want the dynamite body.

 

hi guys!... I think I want to try for Suzuna or Rengemaru but may not be able to travel up to Nagoya that day. boo.

Do you guys know if going to the event is the only way for residents of JP to get these guys, or is there some sort of JP after event? Is that the after event in September that others mentioned?

So sorry to bug everyone... as much as I drool over the SD lines, knowing how to do Volks is kinda hard to initially get in to! lol

 

Yumenoir: I thought that they hold After Events on the website and at the physical stores themselves on the same day.

But aren't you also from Southern California? I think I've met you before, right? If you still have a USA address and credit card, then you could still put in for the VolksUSA lottery as well as WeLoveDolls and KerbeyLane. I'm not putting in for any dolls for myself this dolpa, so PM me if I can be of any help with this.

There are definitely AEs at the Sumikas in Japan. I think Neverything posted the date upthread somewhere and it was September 12. You would need to overnight in Osaka (or Nagoya or near whichever Sumika you picked) because people line up early and the lottery for space #s is early. And I mean EARLY, I believe the lottery in Osaka in January 2009 when I went was at 6 am! I got there around 7:30 am and was like #400!

I believe Japan also now has a lottery system within Japan where people can enter for various dolls via lottery from the Japanese website during the AE.

Waah, an Amakusa oneoff! He's very sweet-looking. I didn't think he was all that popular so I'm surprised to see him up there .

 

The amakusa one-off is to die for. Wow. No surprises with Luna. She has that one look. ~Gus

The Miruku is gorgeous Very soft... very delicate!

 

I totally love my Luna (Sarah). I am yet to see a custom Luna that will be exceptionally different than most. I am sure she is going to be re-released sometime soon. You will get your pouty boy!

I favor the Amakusa one-off the most for his uniqueness. He stands apart from all the other Amakusas I have seen.

Question: Is the 1st YOSD a Tanpopo?

Aw they're all so adorable! Too bad they're one-offs...I love the sailor suits Luna and Anais are wearing!

 

I hope she's rereleased, though I would like Volks to give me some time to recover from Michele, hehe. Now, a Luna rerelease come tax time, it's on like Donkey Kong.

He is very serene looking, and I've always liked how droopy Amakusa's eyes were. He's definitely one that has improved through owner customizations.

And the Yo is definitely a Lin, it's what it says on the page. She is painted very different from the default, that's for sure.

Lets say if i buy from the dopla party. Decide to send back to my country via EMS without providing a local address, would it be hold back by the Japan custom?

 

You do not need a Japanese mailing addy to attend an in store After Event in Japan, but you do need to get there really really really early to get a lottery # depending on the branch.

And if you attend the actual Dolpa you need to buy your guidebook in advance if you want to try for a Limited Edition because the guidebooks don't go on sale until after they are done giving out lottery numbers for Limited Editions.

Personally, if I was shipping something from Japan I would just put my name and the name of the hotel/mailing addy for the hotel I was staying at as the return address. ^^; I'm pretty sure I've done that in the past when mailing myself packages.

ah, thanks rkold! All of this was just what i was looking to hear! I will go ahead and give it a try one way or another.

 

No prob I love sharing information I've gathered whenever I can.

It's sort of scary and fun trying your hand in person. I've only tried for a doll for myself a few time at a Dolpa with mixed luck. The AE in January was a success for me, since I didn't want any of the LEs. (though I did end up buying a Kanu for Kim) but did want clothing.

Volks does change its procedures from time to time, but I suspect there is less variation with the in store AEs because there are always the same space restrictions.

I do know that sometimes buses are faster than trains (and much cheaper!) depending on your location (like Tanabe to Osaka) and if you have your own car that can make a huge difference, you just need to figure out parking in the big cities. Some hotels do offer it for a fee much like a lot of big cities in the US.

I've been told Osaka does have a few sketchy areas which is rare for a Japanese city, but it has a lot of cheap hotels in non sketchy areas as well. I've always stayed with a friend in Nagoya.

I am stalking y!j and I have say the small number of Michele's up for sale is a bit discouraging. I know it was a pipe dream, but I was hoping he'd be more like Magical Michael is terms of number produced.

 

You probably aren't going to hear anything until after the lottery. WLD sent out an email stating they were NOT going to hear how many dolls they got until after the lottery so I would guess it is the same for Kerbey Lane.

 

I'm in the same boat as you. Waiting on Kerbey Lane, but I don't think they will announce who gets what until AFTER the entry period for the Volks Lottery closes.

 

VolksUSA just opened their lottery. I just entered for Suzuna. Fingers crossed!!

 

I dropped an email to Rochelle at Kerbey Lane and this is what she told me:

I would put in Volks lottery too, doubles your chance of winning one and order will not be duplicated should you win from Volks and Kerbey Lane.

Kerbey Lane should have lottery results Wed or Thurs. There is no reason you can't put in for Volks USA lottery too. If you win a doll with Kerbey Lane Volks will be receiving your name so they will not duplicate should you win the USA lottery too.

I thought normally SD boy will come with non joint except Ushiwakamaru.
