What are the advantages/disadvantages to having the hip joints attached to the torso, rather than the legs? I'm still trying to wrap my head around the engineering of joints...:confused:
I am not sure - I think it might be an aesthetic thing, I have only made and only have leg ball jointed dolls, so I can't comment on what the mobility is like with the other.
I'm pretty sure it lets the legs swivel around without an extra joint, unlike traditional jointing, where you used to see L-shape elastic slots to allow "suwarrico" sitting, and these days you see a lot of 'mobility thigh' joints. Aesthetically, though, I think I prefer center-strung hip balls, so there's no visible slot.
