Tutorial High heel feet for Myou Gina

Nov 24, 2021

    1. I wanted high heel feet for my tan Myou Gina but the company doesn't sell them and I didn't want to mod her flat feet so I almost gave up on the idea.
Then I noticed that the Rainbow High Skyler cheer doll I had was almost exactly the same skin color and the feet were a decent size match too...

I unfortunately don't have good pics of the entire process but I will try to share what I have.

Step 1: Sawing off poor Skyler's feet

Step 2: Sand the ankle bit to have a bit of a rounded shape. I didn’t do a ton of sanding, just rounding the edges.

Step 3: Drill a hole from the top of the ankle through to the bottom of the foot.

Step 4: Drill a small groove on the bottom of the foot to help hold the wire in place.

Step 5: Carefully saw a slit at the top of the ankle making sure it passes the hole you drilled. I am not sure if this step is actually necessary when leaving the wire loop outside of the joint the way I did.

Step 6: Take a piece of wire and fold it in half. Put the ends through the foot from the top so the loop is at the top of the ankle.

Step 8: Trim the wire and fold the ends into the groove on the bottom of the foot.

I didn't bother covering the visible wire on the bottom of the feet but I'm sure it's possible with some sort of clay and paint.

On the doll, heel foot (left) and the original flat foot(right):

I didn't expect her to be able to stand on her own at all with the heel feet but with shoes on she stands pretty well.

Things to note, the color difference is not really visible in real life and I have the entire doll coated in MSC so the heel feet look more shiny than the rest but that can be corrected by spraying them with MSC as well.

    2. That's so cool! Thanks for sharing. I'll have to think about these playline dolls more now...

    3. Glad to inspire! I had the 2 dolls next to each other in a cabinet so I noticed the match by chance. Being able to use some of the playline doll clothes and accessories for Gina has been pretty nice :)

    4. Wow, what a perfect coincidence that both the size and color happened to match so well. This is such a clever idea, and it turned out great!

    5. This is brilliant! What skin tone did you get her in? Coffee?

    6. Gina is tan. Her entire body is coated in a thin layer of MSC so that might make the color look a tiny bit different but I don't think it changes much :)
Edited to add: Her face looks a little darker than the rest of her body because my camera likes to really pick up the shading I did on her faceup. There is almost no visible difference in real life

    7. OK - so Rainbow High is coming out with a new line of swimsuit dolls (Pacific Coast), and they come with alternate heel legs (heel foot attached to calf). Thought that info might be of interest to this group...

    8. That's really interesting, and would allow for making this mod without ending up with a doll with no feet. Thanks for sharing :)
