Hi I‘m Lilith, I have had an account here for quiet a while but never really posted. But I want to get to know some more people who enjoy this wonderful hobby so I‘m trying to get out there more. I have a small collection of bjds(two 1/4 scale ringdolls and ,and not technically a bjd, smart doll) and a Impldoll plump body Sini on pre-order at the moment. I mostly enjoy sewing and knitting for them. In the past I also enjoyed making eyes and doing face-ups(wasn‘t very good at either but it was fun),but sadly I suffer from ME/CFS and don’t have to energy to do these parts of the hobby anymore. Through having to lay in bed all the time, I have discovered digital sculpting and love it. I am currently working on making a bjd of my own, planing on posting about it here too. I am more of the person, who developes characters for their dolls, rather than buying a doll for the character. But I none the less love having specific personalities and clothing styles for each one. Just so you know, it may happen that I will take days to answer or disapear for weeks, this is because of my illness. Hope to get to know some of you.
Welcome Lilith! Glad to see you here. I hope to see more of your dolls and your knitting and sewing ^^ I think you'll find this community a warm and encouraging place, and the Workshop sections are quite lively, especially the "Styling & Crafting" threads. Feel free to share your BJD in progress in "Making a BJD", too.
Hello Lilith, I'm so glad that despite your illness you haven't given up and are pursuing this wonderful hobby For me, this hobby means stress relief, especially from work and road traffic. And I look at the nature around me more closely because, besides painting and giving personality, I like to sew clothes for the dolls and go out into nature for photos. Digital sculpting sounds very interesting! Is a resin 3D print planned? I am certainly pleased to meet creative members here I hope to see more of your ideas in the future. Best of luck and lots of energy! And get well soon.
Thank you so much for your kind words. It’s really cool that you notice nature through your dolls. This hobby has so many facets. I already got a 3d printer,my dad helps me with that part as it is to exhausting for me. I also already got far with designing my doll she has working arms and torso already. I‘ll make a more detailed post about her soon.
Welcome! My collection is two 1/4 scale dolls as well -- I like the scale a lot! I've been thinking about getting a Ringdoll 1/4 scale as well, but am waiting until the absolutely perfect one comes along. Which sculpts are your dolls?
I agree 1/4 scale is great. I have Ringdoll Zhao Yun and Zhou Yu. I love both my boys, but with my Zhou Yu,his name is Raymond,I am acually thinking of replacing his head with a 3d printed one as its just a bit to small, proportionon wise, on his body, in my opinion. My other boy is called Fynn. What dolls do you have?
@Lilith@Fadenschein I love the Zhao Yun sculpt! I am hoping to someday have one of him I have two Doll Leaves 1/4 scales, a Ben and a Matthew
