    1. I did about 2-3 months of research in specific areas of doll care once I narrowed down my doll aesthetics (and wailed because most of them are 70+ cm uncles!) and am now the almost two weeks owners of two boys in the 60-65cm range.

      Omokage is my first doll, a second hand VOLKS limited Date Masamune version 2 whom I’m still in the process of shelling. He… actually just arrived around Nov 16 but thanks to my sizing research, I already had casual clothing ready for him and now there’s four pairs of shoes and clothing coming in next week.

      Kashuu kiyomitsu is DOLK x touken ranbu collaboration exclusive and rather oddly sized for 65cm - I’ve had to do his pants and shoes shopping in the 70 cm category as he’s got CLAMP style long legs and big heel feet lol

      Thanks to him I’ll be having a “I bought the wrong size” clothing sale soon of mostly new 70cm clothing

      And he’s still clamouring for red heeled shoes! I would love to hear other people’s trial and tribulations in finding the perfect and fitted shoes for their dolls!

    2. Sounds like you're off to quite the start with your guys! Finding the right fit in an online mostly shopping world can be such a challenge! Especially shoes. At one point I was so frustrated with my Nobility doll boy that it was simpler to trim down & sand the sides of his enormous feet! And even after that he only has a couple pairs of extra wide shoes that fit... I will be so sad when the leatherette fails on them.

      Perhaps if you find the right pair of shoes for #2 you could paint the heels red? I've been known to do black touch ups with sharpie on shoes. Surely a good red could be painted on the heels.

      Because one of my girls just got a Sadol rococo dress one of the boys is now in queue for a rococo suit which will mean his lovely fine boots will no longer be right. That's got me thinking whether I'm up for crafting a pair of mid 18th cent shoes for him... But first to sew his clothes. Currently he's wearing a pair of Volks pants but his Unidoll uber thighs push the limits of their fit...sitting is nigh on impossible squeezed into them! So I guess a pair of breeches to fit will have to be part of the project. Ah yes, one thing always leads to another in bjd land. Good luck!

    3. ohhh my boy cashew!! I'm so happy to see someone with one of the tkrb dolls, I personally think Kashuu would be super stoked that he exists in a bjd form for pampering haha
      congrats on your boys!! I own one of the bigger dolls (iplehouse EID) and it's impossible to find anything that fits him properly unless the shop/makers specifically cater to EIDs and Soom IDs....which is why I'm learning sewing! I also keep a document with my dolls' measurements and what they potentially fit into (one of my dolls fit into luts ssdf tops but not pants, for example). that might be helpful for you to identify at a glance whether you should buy an item or not if it advertises as fitting this or that company's doll!

    4. Oh yeah. I’m not desperate enough yet to do feet sanding (especially since there’s a couple of rrabit boots that might fit him!) but totally agree with you on the one project leads to another! I think he’ll be my first “complete” doll not just because he came as a full set, but also because he has very defined tastes in clothing….

    5. Hi! Fellow sword doll owner~!

      I have the collab Mikazuki doll that I got in a split, some time ago. I only got the doll and eyes, so still in the very slow process of putting him together... orz

      Also putting together Ichigo and Tonbokiri. Ichigo is my fave while Tonbokiri is my friend's fave, and she infected me and now I love him a lot too! XD

    6. Ganba! It can be a quicker process if you order the outfit from taobao though….

      Dolk Is going to re-release mikazuki when they do his internal affairs outfit so you might just snag that when they do? XD

    7. Ouch! Sanding off feet to fit in shoes - that's what Cinderella's step sisters did. Still didn't help them.
