    1. Hi. I'm brand new to BJDs. I'm waiting on my first to arrive, a Class 70 Tony by IOS. I think I've already spent more on clothing for him than I have on myself in the past year. And I spent half the holiday weekend on the computer watching BJD videos and designing some boot soles on the computer, to 3D print. Next I need to practise drawing or painting eyebrows...

    5. I want him to be very natural looking, like the photos on the IOS website.He's going to be a bit shy and bookish but not necessarily a homebody. He's going to get a pet dog at some point and then the two of them will go on some adventures.

    6. I want some Doc Marten style boots for my guy to wear and don't want to spend another fifty bucks so I'm going to try making some. I have never done anything like it but I have the equipment so I might as well give it a try.

    8. Wow, four class 70's. Do they have their own bodies or are some just heads? Will Co be like the little brother then?

      I'm afraid to ask but how many of them were finished within the 60 days they estimate?

    9. IOS is usually really good about their wait times. Garsh is a floating head atm and Sezz is on a crobidoll r-line body so he is a bit shorter. I cant wait for Co(I am turning him into a Levi Ackerman from attack on titan since his previous owner did an amazing mod that made me fall for him hard)
      What made you fall in love with IOS?

    10. Hello and welcome! I love IOS sculpts. Waiting on any doll is hard and the first can be excruciating. Creating and planning for your doll helps lighten the wait for me. I want to learn 3D printing. I think a lot of doll owners spend more on their dolls than they'd ever be comfortable spending on themselves XD.

    11. I loved the Tony head. I couldn't find one anywhere else I liked as much that was still available. I wasn't sure about the body at first but I quickly came to appreciate it. The other 65-70cm bodies are a bit younger looking and have those long, skinny legs. I don't think they would look as good under Tony. Plus IOS sculpts are as beautiful.

    14. I like the Russian Toy Terrier by Elleo Dolls. It's a BJD, and I want something poseable, but I'm still looking for other options. A fur covered dog with joints would work too but I haven't found any good options. I'd like a lap dog, either short haired or a doodle.

      I would love a poseable dog. As for fur-covered, I have seen some poseable fur sculptures. This artist on Etsy makes them custom (listed as 1/3 companion):
      Specializing in realistic life size animal replicas by EasternWindStudio

      I have also thought about foregoing the poseability and finding a needle-felted dog, since some people can make them so lifelike. Maybe one could even add wires for poseability.

    16. Its so true. I dont know why but their sculpts are just so perfect to me. I honestly cant believe they arent more popular! Lol I just found a Mars head with a gorgeous faceup and even though I dont have a body or character in mind I simply must have him! The addiction is real....

    17. Hmnm, the artist on Etsy isn't taking BJD commissions. But even if she was, I think I want BJD level of poseability. Fur covered or felted animals probably have a wire frame if they're poseable at all. I'm thinking about the Iplehouse Boston Terrier now. And there's EveStudio too. They have very similar dogs to Elleo.

      I should probably wait till Tony gets here before I make a decision. I might decide he needs a human friend to go on adventures with instead of a pet. Or he could have a little brother.

    18. It's under the 1/3 wolf companion, but she mentions she'll do other creatures too. That's exactly what they have, the wire frame, so definitely not BJD poseability.

      That's a good idea honestly!! I have found so many times with my dolls that I have a plan for them, and as soon as they arrive the plans are thrown out the window because I discover that they have different needs haha.

    19. There are so many Canadians in here!!!! I'm in Toronto myself~ Its nice to know we have good collection of hobbyists in Ontario!

      I was just looking at some IOS dolls - I have to say I love the intense look they usually have on their face. Super stunning, their faces just draw you right in!

    20. Oh yeah. Be careful though. Once you buy one you will find that you need more! I cant wait for my IOS Blue to come in the mail on monday. Lol I just finished 2 layaways and started another one for an IOS Mars head XD

    21. I bet! Oh my goodness! Dolls are just so addicting in general though, they all just seem to speak to you in their own way. I'm currently saving for a Spirit Doll Proud Windflower - but I might also be adding an IOS doll to my list... :XD: :celebrate I would love to join Toronto BJD, I've seen it pop up while viewing BJD Addicts on FB. I'll do that now! ;) And I would love to come to the meets~

    24. Now I'm thinking Tony might need a little brother. I've been looking at all the ~40cm dolls and keep coming back to IOS even though they just have one. Co is awesome and I love IOS`'s bodies. Their proportions just look better to me.

    26. I know and I looked up Levi Ackerman. He's supposed to be 30. I'm curious to see how someone made Co look older. And now I see IOS has, or had, an actual Levi doll. He looks like Co other than his eyes being smaller relative to the rest of his head. But having big eyes is hardly an obstacle when you want an anime look.
