Hey Hi Hello :]

Hey! My name’s Berry.
I’ve been a fan and distant admirer of BJDs, and just dolls in general for a while. BJDs always caught my attention bc of how beautiful a lot of them are, and they’ve been a great source of inspiration for my art. I never really had the courage or confidence to actually step into any BJD spaces before this bc the prospect of getting into dolls or doll making itself seemed like an impossible task.
A few months ago, I decided to familiarize myself with 3D modeling, and had a much easier time than I anticipated sculpting things that look good. So now that sculpting doesn’t have the same intimidating effect on me, I’ve decided to take the plunge!
I’m very new, so I’m not familiar with many brands, super sought after dolls, popular dolls, and whatnot. Though all the dolls I’ve seen in the gallery so far have been very beautiful! Obviously it’d be really cool if I ever had the chance to own/buy one, but as I’d imagine everyone here is aware, they’re very pricey upfront.
I’m mainly here as an artist looking to connect with other artists and doll makers to learn how I can go about making my own doll sculpt or model! The thought of being able to make dolls of my characters and other characters has been a dream of mine for a while now, and it actually seems somewhat realistically possible now.

I know there’s a few dolls that are cheaper, but I’m very interested in the idea of truly and honestly making and controlling every part of how my doll looks. Since I’m intending on making my characters into dolls, I like the idea of actually making a mold just for them, and not having to scavenge for a doll that fits them well enough. Though honestly, if I get much more into the hobby, I’d definitely be interested in buying dolls from other makers! I’m not exactly a stranger to questionable financial decisions lol
