    1. Good afternoon!
      I've had this account since 2015, I suppose it's finally time I made my first post and introduced myself... :cool:

      This hobby has had a grip on me since early 2011, and like most of my hobbies it's changed a lot since. I used to strictly collect MSD or bigger male dolls, whereas now I can't imagine owning a big grumpy guy of a doll :XD: Currently I only have one doll, a Miyadoll Vivienne, whom I got in a trade back in 2020. She's been sitting in my closet since then, until a bit earlier this year when I found her and fell in love with the hobby all over again.:whee: for now I don't think I'll get more BJDs, buuuutt.... I do have my eyes on a couple 1/5 scale girls if I decide to add more to my collection. (and I mean, dolls needs friends too! Right?!) :roll:
      I also collect off topic dolls and toys (Monster High and Furby mostly, but also Barbie and Sylvanian Families/Calico Critters) and I love customizing dolls!
      Other very unrelated hobbies of mine include; houseplants, goldsmithing, foraging, painting and ice swimming.

      That's roughly it! I can't wait to make some cool friends here! :dance

      I only collect 1/4 scale 'fashion' dolls, and the two boys I do have are perhaps a bit grumpy looking :XD: Just smaller grumps! I couldn't imagine having anything over 49cm. I'm glad smaller dolls like 1/5 are released now. I'd be interested in owning dolls in that size as well. Then you can have tall friends and short friends! :whee:

      Calico Critters are adorable! I don't have any, but maybe someday :chibi

      What sort of customizing do you like to do? I enjoy sewing a lot, and just tried faceups for the first time this year! It can be challenging, but so rewarding when you finally achieve the result you want!

    4. 1/5 dolls are definitely such a nice size, I'd even say that they're my favorite size! (but 1/4 and 1/6 are good too, both have special places in my heart!)

      I do faceups and sewing mostly! I've also done some light modding, and I'd like to do more of that, but it is quite scary especially on dolls as expensive as BJDs tend to be! Also I make wigs and shoes! I don't really have anything I'm not interested in at least trying, working with my hands brings me so much joy~ :3nodding:

    5. Is there a lot of ⅕ dolls out there? I've seen a few but I don't know much about them.

      I also have Monster High and Barbies, I love the Calico Critters, but I will not let myself get started on them!
      I love to see people customizing their dolls, the most I ever do with my playline dolls is touch them up a bit.

      I am looking forward to seeing you doll pictures!

    6. Helloooooo! You have officially piqued my interest! Lol, just kidding - it's always lovely to meet collectors.
      What does goldsmithing entail? Do you have a Flickr or Insta where you post photos? I LOVE customizers. Slowly dabbling myself, but customizing is definitely a skill that takes lots of practice, in my experience.
      I hope you head over to the Brigadoon thread and post pictures of your work! But I should warn you - one photo per post (just saw that rule today - sorry, mods!), and links to the rest. Or hide under the spoiler tag (hit the plus sign up top and choose "Spoiler" - paste your stuff between the "spoiler][/spoiler" brackets).
