We join Ayr and Kano as they walk holding hands through town.



Kano: "Wasn't that a women's clothing store we just passed?"

Ayr: "I think so. Why?"

Kano: "We'd talked about getting some lingerie. I thought maybe we could look and see what they have."

Ayr: "Bored of me already huh? No surprise I guess given I'm sure you've never been with the same woman this long before."



*Kano gently pulls them to a stop.*

Kano: "No, I'm not bored of you."

Ayr: "But you never have been with the same woman this long before have you?"

Kano: "Uhm..."

Ayr: "What was the longest? Just generally? One week? Two? I'm sure it wasn't more than three."

Kano: "But... none of them were you."

*Ayr laughs.* "Good answer. Now stop taking things so seriously all of a sudden. I'm just giving you a hard time."



*Ayr suddenly takes off pulling Kano along after her.* "I'll wear whatever you want, but come on if we're going shopping I've got an even better idea!"

*Ayr breaks into a slow run and she and Kano hurry down the streets dodging people like two happy children."



*Ayr finally reaches her destination and runs up to the door.* "Here we are! Now this is where you go to spice things up."



Kano: "But this is a general hardware store."

Ayr: "Exactly. Ropes, straps, all the good stuff. Besides, I need to pick up supplies to replace all the equipment we left behind in my shop. If we're going to do crazy things liking heading for the sky with Sam and Star I need to study their blood so I know the right mix if I need to give them fluids like I did for you."

 

I was going for the fun and levity. I'm glad it at least came across a little bit. I didn't expect @lividdarkangel to feel so bad for Kano. I figured this was just more of the banter about his promiscuity that was a running joke before the hiatus.

Starting to wonder if I'm just off the mark in tone in general in this attempted revival.

@beamlette I agree they better get the fun in before the obviously coming storm. They're now being hunted by Vespi and Singard. Uh oh.

 

I understand what you're saying, and I think the exclamation point after he said "No!" probably makes a big impact too. I debated on that vs a comma or period. Either way you're right Kano didn't find it funny which is why Ayr told him not to be so serious.

I suppose I was thinking the audience would have had a good laugh over it all; humorous to them as his past adventures get him in trouble again. I guess there's not much audience reaction anymore though so the sample size is small and thus not varied.

I'm sure he and Ayr are/will be fine.

Nervous about in story, or out of story?

 

Yep, other than in his dreams I'm pretty sure Kano has never met anyone quite like Ayr.
